Let me preface this review stating I am 66 years old and grew up playing Wicker Park golf course as a young adult. This course along with Scherwood was my home golf course while playing on the Highland High School Golf team in the late 70's. I stopped playing there years ago because of the politics, neglect and overall vision of the golf course. I live in Myrtle Beach S.C. and traveled to Highland for Mother's Day. So, today 05/11/26 my brother and I decided to play Wicker Park as a last send off to a course we embraced as adolescences. I work at TPC golf course in Myrtle Beach and know a little about golf course maintenance. First tee, tee box shaggy and half cut. Tee markers spaced out more than the 6 step requirement. Fairways a total shit show. Lost or hard to find balls in the fairway. All fairways were unacceptable in terms of cutting length. Areas on golf course were totally neglected. I do NOT suggest golfing at the Wicker Memorial Park Golf Course. Came in with some friends this morning and were each charged $48, but quickly found that this course is NOT worth the money. The course layout was very simple and grounds were in poor condition. They have a serious issue with goose feces laying all over their tee boxes, fairways, and greens (see pictures below). It was so bad that you had to consciously watch your step and the ball rolled in it after nearly every shot. You couldn't even swing a club in certain places without dragging it in the droppings, resulting in several instances where the ball had to be moved to a relatively clean location. The grass was so poorly cut that it was difficult to differentiate between the fairway and the rough on several holes, resulting in poor hitting conditions. There were also no ball washing stations available. Almost every hole was a straight shot from the tee box to the pin. There was very little variety or creativity in the design. In addition to all the problems we experienced with the course itself, we were STILL charged the high $48 per person rate in spite of us also all being junior golfers and there weren't many people out on the course. However, the board in the shop that displayed prices stated that juniors were charged $16 per player Monday-Friday. Higher rates on weekends are standard and understandable, but the difference in $32 from weekday to weekend seems unreasonable given that we were juniors, it is early in the season where not many people are golfing yet, and the course is in poor condition and had no special design or amenities. Furthermore, the website for the course indicates that the cost is $45 per person during the SUMMER, yet we were charged more than that today in the SPRING. If this is what their price is in April for the type of experience they provide their guests, then their REAL prices over the summer that they apparently don't care to tell you on their website must be incomprehensible. We regularly play golf as a group and enjoy several courses in the area. However, today, we have played our first and LAST round at Wicker Park. Instead, we will take our money elsewhere and pay far lower and fairer rates for a far better experience. read more

I first want to say I am not a professional golfer by any means, but this course has it issues. The grounds crew have no golf edict, they will not move for you to play on, my group had to wait on the first 7 hole for the greens to be watered. For the first 7 holes, when we would tee off a member of the grounds crew would turn on the sprinkler system for the green. I feel this should have been done in the early morning and not at 8:30. The fairways were not cut evenly and they do not bag grass clippings. The grass clipping were the worst I have ever seen. read more

This place used to be a decent track but I just played yesterday for the first time in a few years and it has turned into a total goat farm. I tried to get in a quick 9 holes and from the initial encounter in the pro shop I should have known the course was going to be a disaster. I walked up as a single and was told "leagues are about to start...there is no room on the course" without even checking to see if there was room on the back nine. After I urged him to check the back nine...there was room on the course. From tee to green this place sucks...Tee boxes are littered with garbage and grass clippings...the players that play here don't repair divots and the grounds crew doesn't seem to care to repair them either so the Fairways are in bad shape (not to mention they aren't cut evenly and have multiple bare patches)...the bunkers aren't maintained at all and are just being left to grow over....good luck putting...the players here don't repair ball marks so the greens are like putting on a Braille board. Also they have a massive goose population here...since the grounds crew doesn't do a good job maintaining the course...the fairways and greens on holes 10, 11, 16, and 17 are absolutely covered in goose droppings...the list goes on and on. I was so disappointed with the condition of the course that I didn't even finish my round. There are better courses for the price in the area...this place wanted almost $40 to play 18 with a cart...with the condition of this place...they shouldn't be charging over $25. Played 18 in yesterday's heat, mild breeze helped. The course was immaculate but for a few muddy spots, greens were spectacular! Staff was as always outstanding! read more

Wicker Park Golf Course - Four‼ - Golf Near Me - Highland, Indiana

I played here for the second time in as many weeks, I am from out of town and unsure which courses are good and which courses are bad. So I tried this course hoping it was decent. Well, I was pleasantly surprised, for a municipal. It has some challanging holes and is well taken care of. I will definitely play it again when I am back in town. I recommend the course, and I am a very (snobby), picky player of courses. read more

This has to be the worst managed golf course in the country. Back to back weekends they were closed because it was "wet". Every other course in the area was open. I guess this place really hates money. I strongly suggest going anywhere else but this place. read more

Great location decent golf course, great driving range but they need to turn the lights on at least till 10 o'clock!
