I hired Ms. Christina Wickers to handle two specific legal tasks. From the beginning, she stated more than once that "you can't hire me to only do two things, but you can hire me and then fire me once those two things are completed." One of those tasks involved preparing a letter, which was billed at over $1,300 but was never completed or sent. The other item was completed satisfactorily. She then spent the better part of a month preparing for a probate hearing that I never asked her to prepare for and that I knew would never happen -- yet she used a significant portion of my retainer on this without confirming whether I wanted representation. When I raised these concerns, she declined to offer any refund for the funds used toward the incomplete letter or for the hearing where I diid not ask for representation. This was a very disappointing and costly experience, and based on how my matter was handled, I personally would not recommend working with her. read more

The negative reviews on the Wickers are spot-on as our experience mirrors theirs. We hired the Wickers to handle the final minor steps of a straightforward conservatorship and they trumped up justifications in their overzealous billings in a dishonest attempt to justify a confetti of frivolous charges. Disputed charges were mostly passed from bill to bill and then ignored altogether. Reining the Wickers in didn't work so we fired them after a few billings to cut our losses. But because they charge 3-4 times the comparative retaining fee, big red flag, their teeth are stubbornly sunk in once they're hired. Meaning, the only chance you have to get a fair refund is by taking legal action. It's really the betrayal of trust and wasted time that hurts the most. We have since learned that there are many good and honest attorneys in the South Bay area so why gamble on the Wickers. read more

Daddy has to sign the clients up to a bogus contract because daughter has no personality or communication skills other than making excuses for why they could not perform what they were hired to do. I've never written a review in my life, but just got off the phone with Ms. Wickers and felt obliged to share how she made me feel during our consult. First of all she only would speak to me if I disclosed to her intake person how much was in the trust and what my percentage was, which is really poor etiquette. I already have two firms who've agreed to take my case but I wanted to find a female attorney specifically, as it makes me more comfortable. When Ms. Christina Wickers did finally speak to me she was highly skeptical for no discernible reason of everything I said as if I were lying and she provided zero compassion or kindness. I explained as well that my situation involved long ongoing abuse from the family member that has withheld my money in the trust and she did not show concern or care for that part either or for the recent death of my beloved mother who left me the inheritance that has been stolen. She asked me questions in a way that felt accusatory, and I was really appalled by her dismissive manner as well. Both experiences I have had with the Law Office were professional experiences. Someone always picks up the phone with a smile, I am usually able to speak to someone right away when I need help with an urgent matter, or they have returned my call promptly. The office is very nice, and I have had no issue with billing or other administrative services such as appointment scheduling. I can recommend using Wickers Law for business law cases, but I understand they handle other types of legal areas such as some family law. I had lengthy technical work termination papers that needed to be reviewed before I signed them, and I also had questions about my mother's estate and financial paperwork as her dementia increases and I have to be responsible for her. I dreaded meeting with a lawyer about all of it, but I had such a positive experience at the Wickers law office; I couldn't recommend them more highly. Rodney Wickers met with me on the termination paperwork, recommended some key changes (most of which were accepted by my employer) and also helped guide me in what to do with regard to the latest complications on my mother's situation. He actually gave me advice on how to AVOID incurring large legal fees in my mother's case, by providing a simple alternative to what I was thinking of doing (Conservatorship). Some of these negative reviews seem unauthentic. We questioned all billing and they explained everything. People who are not educated in how a law firm bills hours need to do a little research and take a little time educating themselves. We don't like spending money any more than anyone else, but we needed experts. We were willing to pay for the best. This firm was honest and hardworking and everything they explained matched the research we did before hiring them. I would recommend them and I would use them again - I don't believe it gets any better than Rodney Wickers. This doesn't mean we didn't have disagreements or questions, but he and his firm work hard and we could not have been happier. This attorney is horrible. He overbilled me for work he did, he placed bogus meetings on the bill that we never had and then after I told him I could not afford to continue as going to trial would be much too expensive, he continued to do work that was needed for trial and try to charge me for that. Also, when ever I asked him questions he told me I was "micro-managing" my case. Very nasty, controlling guy - but not able to get any results for me. He is continuing to send me bills even though I paid him way beyond what he even did. read more

This firm recently represented our party in a probate matter. Based on this experience, I question the level of competence of the firm. Frankly, I was a bit alarmed. Specific actions and document filings, that should have been routine for a competent firm and specified as a matter of matter of statute, were not performed in a timely fashion. Some of these documents included basic and routine matters such as publication of "Notice to Creditors." Moreover, the case was subject to serious over-billing for services that were not performed. Moreover many ordinary fees were charged as 'extraordinary services', considerably more than the legally prescribed statutory fees. There was a great deal of churning of activity to generate even greater fees. This included billing for events that never happened and over-billing for events that did. It also included charging for unnecessary ancillary expenses. So on balance, my impression is that they are not competent, wasteful of estate money, and quite willing to over bill. I cannot recommend this firm and will caution anyone inquiring about them in the future. If you are considering this firm, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. This is the worst law firm I have ever worked with. And I have suffer with some pretty bad law firms, including those in the 3rd World. read more
