I used them in the past with very good results. Would have given 5 stars for that project. Alex and his assistant were very good. Recently, I called because I thought pipes were leaking. It turned out it was just condensation due to weather changes. They were over an hour late, stayed for 10 minutes and charged for the full hour which was $293.22. Did a great job installing a new toilet. Only questionable area when it came to price. 2 men showed up at my house. Told me they would go purchase a Kohler ( excellent choice ) for about $ 388 + labor and time would be about $ 900. When finished, presented a bill for $ 1154. I just paid the bill and said thank you, wasn't in the mood to dispute how $ 900 became $ 1154, figured they would say it took longer to install and the time is what did it. Great toilet. read more

Also known as "wickerScam." They broke my vanity while trying to fix a minor issue, then tried to deny it. Refused to refund me or pay for the damage. I had to dispute the charges on my credit card. My hot water tank was leaking badly, and was days if not hours away from totally failing... I've been using Wickersheim & Sons since I purchased my home 3 years ago. It's an OLD house, so it has lots of quirks and, unfortunately, I've had numerous occasional to use these guys. They have done everything for us, including: * Clearing a (stubbornly) clogged drain * Replacing the compression tank on the boiler * Fixing the boiler (whole other thing...some expensive part wore out...). * Boiler maintenance, including bleeding the radiators * Clearing a clogged sewage line (not a pleasant task, for sure) Scott, one of the owners, came by our house with his daughter, en route to his company holiday party, one cold Saturday a couple years ago. He was able to deal with our boiler issue and keep us nice and toasty through the weekend. He was pleasant and helpful throughout the entire ordeal. I heartily recommend these guys. read more

I wouldn't use them again on a bet. When I had my bathroom and kitchen remodeled our general contractor, who no longer uses them, had a relationship with them. We are still, several years later, correcting their Uber sloppy work. Just as one example, I had them run a natural gas line to my deck for my grill. The first day I went to turn the grill on and no gas. When I called they asked, and this is not a joke, "ohh, you wanted the line hooked up to the gas?" They then wanted to charge me another $200 to do that. They also overcharged me by several hundred dollars for some work. They are lucky I never sued them. read more

I have been a loyal customer for 20 years, but Wickersheim recently charged me for an incomplete job and problems that they created. Our water heater needed to be replaced. In replacing it, Wickersheim removed a water softener unit that THEY had previously placed too close to the water heater. They replaced the water heater but left the water softener offline because it needed a couple of gaskets that they did not have. I offered to get the gaskets if they would reinstall the softener. They have not responded to my requests to do so. They have cost me at least a couple of hundred dollars for their mistake, and the owner doesn't even return my phone calls. Very disappointing after all of these years. read more

During the coldest week this year (2020) our furnace failed. We got a few quotes from other plumbers that insisted on thier replacement. Wickersheim gave us options. We gave them the go ahead on a Friday and also needed to coordinate with getting a new chimney liner. At 9AM on Monday Wickersheim plumbers showed up and worked on removing the old furnace while E&M installed a chimney liner. By 3PM Wickersheim was fininshing the installation and cleaning up packaging and loading up the old furnace. We are really happy with our new Crown Boiler and thankful we found such a responsive and professional plumber to work with. I highly recommend Wickersheim & Sons for your plumbing needs. read more

Wow. Just, wow! My central air conked out. I called two companies I'd used before but neither returned my call. A friend recommended Wickersheim & Sons. Not only did they call me back, they squeezed me in last minute, they showed up on time (which I really appreciated because I left the office mid day to meet them at my home), they diagnosed the problem immediately, had the required part, replaced it, checked my Freon level, and cleaned my outdoor unit all within less than an hour. Ok. So I have used Wickersheim for years and since my house is old, pretty often.I am always satisfied with the work that they do. And they have done a lot. They have replaced radiators, repaired fixtures, replaced pipes and worked on my heating system. A lot. I had a steam heating pipe leaking for awhile in the basement and was putting it off until it finally needed to be replaced. I made an appointment for today and Joe and A.J. arrived and did a fantastic job. I have a beautiful new shiny copper pipe. I'm very happy!! read more
