Older motor inn, some updates though. Bathroom was totally new, sink, latest type of toilet, bath tub shower combo. Slept very good though there for two nights, comfortable bed. Very good cable Tv package, many channels. Ice machine was broken though and soda machine was empty of soda but had bottle water. ( two dollars ) Just a dorm smell a little, not urine like other reviews mentioned. Good place to crash a few nights, one or two if you need a place to stay short term. A snack machine would be a good update sometime. Newport Creamy just across the street for meals. Older locks on the rooms, just the old keys system. Video cameras throughout the place and a good fire alarm system. read more

I was taking my daughter to URI for a campus tour and I was looking for someplace to stay between Providence and the campus. I went through AARP for the reservation because I thought I was getting a deal. (More on that in a separate review about AARP Travel.) So we walk into a "lobby" that can only be described as the The Heart of Darkness. I half expected to see a sign that read "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here." It wouldn't have been out of place in that Nicholas Cage movie Leaving Las Vegas. A good motel to off yourself. Anyway, there was no one at the front desk, which looked more like the checkout area of a liquor store in the inner city, bulletproof acrylic with a slider for handing over your credit card. Taped to the window was a hand written sign that said "No Vacancy-No Rooms. Now we're wondering if they even have our reservation. There were some covid advisory notices taped on the wall, all dated March 2020. It's August 2021. Next to the check in window there's a paper arrow taped to the wall saying "For Help". It pointed down the hall so my daughter and I walked down to see if anyone was around. Nobody was. So i called the number that was taped under the window and thus guy answers and says, "Oh, she must gave gone to lunch." It was 5:00. Five minutes later this elderly woman cones up the stairs and shows us to a room. Doesn't ask our names, doesn't look at my ID, but she does lead us down the hall to a room and says to us, "The key is on the table." We step in to the room which can't even be described as Shabby Chic and just about large enough to change your mind. While the beds were made the covers were threadbare, the furniture looked like it had just come from a rather trying move in which no bubble wrap nor tie downs were used in the truck. And i couldn't help feeling that the room was dirty. So i pulled the sheets back and I wasn't wrong. Pics below. So what is that? Blood? Worse? We weren't sticking around to find out. I called AARP and they were able to get it the reservation cancelled without any penalty. But we still needed a place to spend the night so while i was on hold with them, I started looking for hotels. Within five minutes I found a hotel 15 minutes away, for only $30 a night more, with a pool AND breakfast. The long and short of it is Wickford Motor Inn? Can't recommend. read more

Awful. Do not stay here. It's outdated and dirty. Stains on the comforter and carpet, (disgusting stains). But not only was it dirty I didn't feel safe. Upon arriving there were multiple men hanging around outside doing god knows what. Once we received our key and checked out the room we turned right around and left. Very old school the Inn keeper checks you in by crossing your name off a piece a paper she has hand written down. I honestly felt like I was in a movie. The whole 15 minute experience was awful. Save your money and learn from my mistake. I figured "how bad could it be"... take it from me, it's bad. This is a place used for other intentions. We were there for 3 nights but ended up leaving on the second. First and last time for our stay. The rooms stunk like something was dead and smoke. My mothers room had blood stains in the rug plus her tub kept clogging up with water. Besides that her bathroom door was broken and wouldn't even close, when we brought it to there attention nothing was done. Our beds had hairs and stains and stunk. Please don't come to this cheap and dirty motel. Lastly. No security anybody could come in and do what they wanted. read more

If I could give the inn a negative star review, I absolutely would. Upon arriving, the inside smells of smoke and nursing home. Our room was clearly not cleaned as their was bits of paper on the floor that hadn't been vacuumed and an empty envelope on our dresser. There was mold along the trim of the bathtub and exposed wiring through the hole in the bathroom ceiling. After spending an hour gawking at the state of our room, we became bold enough to peel back the bedding after realizing I had several itchy BITES that continued to appear on my arms and legs. After inspecting the bedding, I regretted it. There were large brown stains on our sheets and smaller brown specks that confirmed my fear of bedbugs in our room. We promptly left and demanded a refund. After arguing with the manager (who did not seem concerned or to care at all which leads me to believe he's had these same complaints before) about the horrendous state of our room, we left and booked a last minute room at another inn (which was much nicer for the same price). Avoid this place at all costs! Youcan tell by the pictures that it's not an updated motel but we booked it anyway because it was relatively cheap and we figured we would at least have a decent bed to crash on. Wickford Motor Inn. Inaccurately named considering you're no longer in Wickford once you reach this part of Post Rd. The place isn't bad, it's just not good. First off, when you walk in it's highly reminiscent of a nursing home. Sterilized, slightly musty chlorine-y smell with tons of ugly wallpaper. Wallpaper as far as the eye can see. If the Inn-keeper isn't sitting at the front desk, don't worry. She's watching you. Watching you on her cameras, which are located in the halls and all around the exterior of the building. She's constantly watching you, to the extent where it's creepy. A visitor may come in, and she'll call down to your room like "I saw that girl! Is she staying? Its $10 extra! What's her license number, plate number?" I was waiting for her to ask for my blood type. Inside the rooms, the lighting is horrible. All lamps on and still too dim to read a book. They have a decent selection of TV stations though, I guess. The beds are plasti-covered and on rickety rolling frames. Rickety, and loud so don't try to have any um... quiet adult fun. Everyone in the surrounding 4 rooms will totally know whats up. It'll sound like a bull in a china shop. Or a bull in a nursing home...either one. You can't even have a telephone conversation without the next door neighbor hearing every word. Every cough, every fart, every change of the channel. On the back of the door is another strict warning against smoking. There are about 100 no-smoking signs around this place. Alongside this warning is another warning. A warning not to STEAL linens or items from the room along with a list of prices you will be charged if they are missing. Might I add, there is an enormous markup. Missing washcloth - $5 Missing towel- $20 Missing comforter - $150 As if these were high quality items too...the towels are thin and barely enough to fit around my tiny 5'6 frame. The comforter, I'd consider a thin and crappy blanket. I laughed out loud at this sign, but wasn't surprised because there are tons of other either typed or handwritten signs in the hallways, on the front desk, in the rooms warning you against unruly behavior. The whole time I was here, I felt like I was back in boarding school in 9th grade. Also there's not much around to walk to, and everything shuts down around 930 pm. There's a rite-aid a Newport Creamery and a Pizza joint within walking range. It's just a dreary kind of place tossed alongside a dreary type of road. Not sure why anyone would stay here on their own dime. Oh and they advertise in room Saunas... don't be fooled the sauna in my room was cold, didn't heat and smelled like pee. Just saying. read more

This is a clean, 1950s-era motor inn that is worth the low price in a fast-gentrifying area, as long as you don't have high expectations. By expectations, I mean: the soap is credit-card thin, there is no shampoo nor laundry bag, and the towels are few and small. In addition, the beds are old and covered with plastic, and the flatscreen TV is smaller than most computer monitors. However, if you are willing to put up with these inconveniences, you'll find that the place is clean, the people are nice, and the location is a 5-minute drive from the beach. read more

The motel is a bit old from the outside. It is not ADA compliant. When you walk in, the office is at the top of the stairs and the motel is a split level style - you go up stairs or down stairs. After checking in, our room was downstairs, partially below ground level. The room itself was large, with a king bed a small desk, TV, fridge and microwave. The A/C was severely lacking with a broken remote and buttons on the A/C that were unusable. Luckily we brought a fan. The motel provided 2 additional fans. The bathroom was iffy. Although it was nice, when you turned on the water in the sink, it spewed over the front of the sink onto you and the floor. You had to be very careful to turn it on slowly. The sink leaked below. The management was called and their solution was to put a ton of towels under the sink. The shower was okay, but water puddled on the floor behind the toilet and it made the tile floor slippery. Not that we needed it, but did notice the electric heater along the floor did not have a cover and was all rusted and nasty. The noise level between rooms and rooms above was not great. You heard people walking and talking and people whooping it up in the hallway. It didn't last too long, thankfully. Bottom line, it was nothing special and just okay but could use a major upgrade. read more

Tldr; really terrible hotel, with below average (but not worth it) prices. Our stay featured: - The creepy wood grain paneling and decor that reminded me of The Shining, - A sauna in our room that smelled like old people, - The uncomfortable, back hurting beds, - The mysterious square black stain in front of the TV, - The paper thin walls (you can hear a baby cry down the hall), - The lack of a maid for us on a two night stay, and - We had to make a do not disturb sign from a pizza box because we couldn't find one. The staff was friendly and one of the managers was pretty great, although another one was texting while I was asking him a question. Got an OK deal, but there was other stuff about ten bucks cheaper down the road. Do that instead and get a better night sleep in a non depressing room. Another reviewer said this place was a crack house, and that honestly would explain a lot. read more

Horrible service! Lied to by the front desk and couldn't check in early as promised after driving through the night.

This hotel was horrible start to finish, dirty with dead flys in the room. NOT handicapped accessible which I'm pretty sure is against the law. Had to go in back poorly lit service door across a tall, wet and muddy lawn. Try doing THAT with a 3,000 lb electric wheelchair!!!!!!! The door was kept locked and we were told someone would always be at the front to let us in which happened NEVER. Not one time was there someone up front, we had to go in and unlock it ourselves! Bed was made but pretty sure sheets were not changed and we got 1 small towel, hand towel and washcloth a piece. A lot of cars in parking lot but never saw any people, very shady read more

stayed overnight at this dump.zip ties for a handle on one of the dressers,caulking around shower looks like it was spread with a spatula,toilet ran after each flush,had to remove the lid and unstick the chain to flapper myself. went to take a shower and pubic hairs in tub.lifted covers to get in bed was pubes on the sheets.I slept on top of the comforter and didn't even bother to shower. will never stay here again. read more
