What a HORRIBLE customer service experience. I booked a room to stay at this Inn. Before our stay I called the Inn ahead of time to cancel our reservation because of illness. The inn said I had to call the booking agent. I called the booking agent who then had to call the inn and the inn ignored the booking agents 4 calls over 30 minutes. I tried again 2 hours later and after 3 attempts to get the Inn to pickup the phone on the 3rd attempt the Inn answered and said there was no manager to authorize and they would not be helping. The booking agent emailed myself and the Inn to confirm they knew I was trying to cancel. This morning the Inn tried charging me the full amount when the maximum cancellation amount was supposed to be 1 night. I contacted the Inn in more than enough time before the date listed for cancellation. What Unbelievably HORRIBLE customer service. I was willing to change my dates or do something but the Inn was completely unwilling to help. If you want someone who appreciates your business and booking DON'T STAY HERE !!!! read more

If I could give zero stars for this rat trap of a hotel, I would. What appears online is a huge misrepresentation. My family checked in and after going back and forth the office to get a key that would work, and upon entering the unit, found it infested with bugs. Lots of bugs of all kinds (see photo of what appears to be a cockroach). It smelled of mold/mildew and was generally gross. There was a huge gap above the door and the door wouldn't lock, which was especially troublesome given that the place was extremely creepy. It was also deserted. We were in the room probably ten minutes debating what to do and did not use any of the "amenities." We attempted to problem solve with the staff and were shut down (nobody was around to speak to). We decided to leave because we had an event to get to. We've since attempted to problem solve and the staff are extremely rude to the point of being abusive. We left and were forced to find another place last second, which cost us a lot of money. They charged us $350 and have refused to refund even part of it, hear us out, or treat us as customers or even people. I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel and giving your hard earned money to awful people. It looked as if someone hired a blind painter. The room looked nothing like the room we booked. And the bed was falling apart right as we sat on it. This place should have been torn down years ago. It finally hit me that it was probably left over from a Howard Johnson's in the 50s. They said it was remodeled but the floor was buckling. The sheets looked stained and the headboard was falling apart. The bedside table was halfway into a door less closet and the TV was too low to see from the bed. All in all a disaster. I'm giving this establishment 1 stars. We called over a month in advance as my elderly relatives were coming to stay. One is immune compromised so we discussed how important cleanliness was. This place is DISGUSTING, FILTHY. Mold in the showers, toilet didn't work, windows didn't open, grease and food debris in stove burners and oven, upholstery stained, electrical outlet didn't work and they had to jimmy a cord from other. We found another place for them to stay but they had to stay the two nights (they didn't get in until late the first night). WORSE they overcharged my family and my family had to dispute it with their CC company. Maybe they just don't care because there are few places to stay nearby, who knows. We stayed here to move my daughter into URI. When we woke up the room was full of ants, we took our stuff and left as we had to move her in and office didn't open till after 9am. I called to let them know and the kid in the office said he would let owner know and call me. Never offered a different room for the next night we were supposed to stay. Did hear back till almost 1pm about if we wanted a different room and by then we had already made the decision to head home as we are from out of state we were not going to stay in the same room! I explained we had already left to drive home as we did not hear back from owner and didn't want to get stuck there with no place to stay. I was now told that owner is away and wont be in till Tuesday/Wednesday. Called again later in week and still no phone call from owner.... here it is 2 weeks have passed and nothing... I HAVE VIDEOS OF ANTS IN THE ROOM, which I will be glad to share here, they were in multiple places around the room. DO NOT STAY HERE! This Place is Camping With Dry Wall. Why they raise the price is beyond me? This place has potential, but it's just a money grab. Charging over 200 a night plus tax and resort fees?. Stay in Newport and pay an extra 25 bucks. Place is no better than a Red Roof inn. I had guests in town , thought it was convenient but just grossly overpriced for the offering. Sadly, we were very disappointed. The location was good, and the staff were polite. Unfortunately, the room did not meet with our expectations for a room costing almost $300/night. The heater/air did not work properly The toilet seat was broken The heater cover in the bathroom was very dirty In the morning we discovered that one of the beds had tiny spots of blood, not from us. The coffee pot looked as if it had just been taken out of storage, it was dusty, dirty and had a lot of 'crud' in it. We did no dare to use it. WARNING!! I would never stay here again!!! It doesn't even deserve 1 start. After check in, we entered our room and both beds looked like someone laid on them, We turned down the covers and it looked like someone slept on the sheets already. The carpet had dirt all over it, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Upon inspection of the bathrooms, there was hair on the toilet seats and in the tubs. The rooms are not kept clean, when I brought my complaints to the evening associates attention, she was kind enough to give us fresh sheets and blankets, we had to make our own beds and disinfect the bathrooms, etc. BTW, The beds are hard as rock!! The evening associate stated that the owner would be here in the morning to discuss my complaints. I spoke to the owner and she was less than empathetic to my complaints and had a bad attitude. I tried showing her the pictures of the room, and the filth we encountered upon arrival, she wanted no part of reviewing them. Her solution was to find me another motel near by. I was amazed at her lack of professionalism, her excuse for the room was that the maid has a child she brings to work with her. I don't think the child was the cause of the dirty room. You are better off sleeping in your car than staying at this dirty overpriced motel. Oh and one more thing, the pool they advertise is 1 mile away from the premises. read more

Place looks clean. But when we're about to sleep, we checked the beds to see if there's a bugs. NO bugs- but we saw a pubic hairs on the top sheet. Flat and fitted sheets were old and worn on both beds and one of then has stain on it . We called the management around 11pm, 2 people came around 12am, the lady came with an attitude, did not even say hi or hello or apologize. Do yourself a favor and don't let the low price fool you - it's not worth it at any price. I was 50 feet from the main office and still had no usable WIFI signal. 2019 and there's no WIFI?!? But WIFI will seem a luxury after you realize the shower doesn't work and you can't wash yourself (despite having jets all over the place, hot water comes out as an anemic trickle). Or that your door doesn't lock except for the deadbolt, which means you can't leave your belonging secure if you ever leave. Want to contact the front desk about any of this? Then you'll wish the 1970's phone on the stand was connected to something, or even had a cord. It doesn't. Maybe the phone is just there to be used as a weapon in case someone enters the room because the DOOR DOESN'T LOCK? I know we all like a bargain, but the room I had at the Hamilton Inn wasn't cheap - it was WORTHLESS. I didn't even bother spending the night. read more

I would have preferred to leave zero stars, but had to choose a rating to leave a review. This was the absolute worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The room was filthy. You could tell the room wasn't swept or vacuumed prior to our stay. I found a washer, spare change and hair clips on the floor of the hotel room. I just hope that the bedding was changed after the last guest, but I have my doubts. The bathroom was a nightmare. Peeling paint, light fixtures hanging precariously from the ceiling in the shower area showing exposed wires. The windows had wood slatted horizontal blinds. Many of the slats were broken and or missing which allowed no privacy. I had to put a towel over the blinds so I could get dressed with privacy. The coffee maker had a prior guests moldy coffee grinds left in the coffee maker. The Department of Health should condemn the whole building. Just Don't Stay Here!!! read more

This was our second time here and hopefully will be coming back next year! Easy to make reservations. Easy to skip over to Newport, especially for the Newport Folk Festival. So accommodating when we called and said we were stuck and couldn't make it for check-in. That made our night, knowing we could grab dinner after a long day and relax a bit knowing we were all set. I would not stay here again. Members of my family booked four different rooms, each in a state of questionable cleanliness. My bathroom was filthy and the floor was sticky, see photos attached. There was no extra bedding for the pullout couch. The vending machine was right outside the bedroom window, so it clicked on and off all night, while the light flowed into the room. There were no curtains anywhere. We were in a non smoking room, but either that rule is not enforced or it hasn't been shampooed since it was a smoking room. It reeked of stale cigarettes. In my parents room, they had blinds for their sliding door which had to be yanked shut. Once they were actually closed, multiple slats were missing and again, no curtains aka no privacy. My sister did have an extra blanket in her room which was covered in someone else's hair. She also had to remove someone else's hair from the sheets when she turned the covers down. My sister was also not given the wedding block rate, which is why we were staying there in the first place, even though she asked three different times for the wedding rate. The front desk attendant was also rude to my sister when she accidentally locked herself out of her room, she said to my sister, "oh of course you did." For the price we paid, the cleanliness and quality could certainly be better. I'd avoid staying here if you can help it. read more

If I could give this hotel a zero star review I would. We were completely disappointed. Where to begin? we booked the conjoined room suite for our family of 6. We arrived to a room that smelled like chlorine and mildew. We walked in and the furniture was actually damp -like the dehumidier wasn't working. The room had a fold out couch thatvwe planned to use for our large family only to Find a handwritten note taped to the wall advising us not to open it. The sofa was broken and we paid for the room that had a sofa to sleep on. When we went into the bathroom, there was hair in the shower that actually looked like pubic hair. We were so horrified and disgusted we called the front desk only to be told that we planted the hair there. Really??? The management treated us horribly. Nasty nasty people and a disgusting place. We will never go and plan on filing a report with the health inspector because this hotel was seriously disgusting. There was actual mildew on the ceiling and when we complained were told it's not that much mold. Um really????? Any mold is too much when paying for a hotel room. Had a long weekend and decided at the last minute to take my High School son for a campus tour of University of Rhode Island on Friday (July 2016). So literally booked the hotel the night before. The hotel is 15-20 minutes from the university. We figured we'd get a place to stay near Narragansett beach and enjoy the beach for a day before heading back home to New Hampshire. As you'd expect most places near the beaches were $400-500/night. Found this place on AAA website for only $139+tax. Granted... It's not fancy but for the money,and what you get, it's a great value. It's more along the lines of a nice motel. Rooms are clean and air conditioned, the entire place is well maintained, staff is very friendly and accommodating. If you are used to the Hilton or Marriott this place is not for you. Like I said... It's not much more than a nice, well maintained motel. But I figured I save the extra $350 and spend it on other stuff. It is a little far from Narragansett town beach... Bout a 15 minute drive. But all in all the drive was worth what we saved. First off, there are no real shades or drapes that help keep the room dark at night. The light kept us all up through the night. The next morning as we were trying to get our one year old to nap, I thought it'd be best if I put the "do not disturb" sign on. We spent 1 1/2 hours trying to get her to sleep. 45 minutes into her nap we get a knock on the door. It's housekeeping. My wife and I tell her she needs to leave immediately. She insisted on coming INSIDE!!!!! We obviously said no. She kept insisting and talking loudly despite the fact we just told her the baby was asleep and our "do not disturb" sign was on the door. The baby woke up, of course. The housekeeping says "well, now that she's awake. Can I come in? I need to get the sheets and towels done by noon". we closed the door on her. I called the front desk to explain our frustration as two tired parents of a young child and the response the front desk receptionist gave was "well, I'm sorry to hear that but it's our policy that we need to come in by noon. Some people accidentally leave their signs on the front door all day and complain that their sheets and towels weren't changed." Absolutely unbelievable. I think this is an otherwise fine place to stay but the lack of shades and disregard for privacy should serve as a caution to all. read more

I am from RI and I can tell you there are much better places to stay in this area for the price. I stayed here and it kind of felt like I was camping. Our room had an awful musty/mildew smell that we could not get rid of. Our clothes now smell the same way. The bugs outside were awful, even during the day. There really is not much to do around this area after 8PM and you will need to drive everywhere. The rooms do not have an iron or ironing board- you have to get them from the front desk and you have a 2 hour time limit. Hotel shampoo/toiletries - they actually do not provide any other than hand soap, so it's a good thing I brought my own. I read one of the other reviews before posting and someone hit the nail on the head: it is a motel 6 with an upgraded comforter for double the price. Also, the do not disturb sign is ignored. Which is odd. The rooms do have a coffee maker and a mini fridge as well as a decent amount of cable channels. Parking does not seem to be an issue. While exiting the area I noticed some rooms also have a full kitchen. If you are looking for a Hampton Inn, there is one close by. If you like to feel like you are camping with a shelter other than a tent, you will love it here. read more

I checked in and right back out 7/14/17 i booked for a wedding i was attending. i walked in room it smelled musty. looking around i notice there was a bug on headboard. i looked under pillow and 100000 clear little bugs were all over i am told now that they were baby bed bugs. i went straight back to the office to let them no i will not be staying there,They apologized and refunded my card ASAP ( wasnt first time for them i guess) read more
