Plenty of free parking, and nice wooded views out the back. Staff was friendly and helpful. Fitness center offered treadmills, one elliptical and free weights with two benches, plus a small workout area with mats and kettle balls. Open 24 hours. We didn't try the pool. Room coffee - those little shrink wrapped trays common to most Marriotts sucks. But the closet, fridge and microwave were all in tip top shape. Bathroom was clean and mold free. Feather free pillows too. We would definitely stay here again.

I thought I new what I was getting myself into by staying at Bay Willows Inn, and I was pleasantly surprised that it was better than I expected. Our first phone call was with a lovely woman, who has a pretty thick accent. There were times that I didn't quite understand what she was saying, but really that is on me. She was so pleasant that I found it endearing. Upon arrival the Inn looks dated, but you can tell from the plants that they enjoy keeping up the location. Everything outside is old, but in great condition. So far it is better than I expected. When I checked in the dude at the counter was great. We filled out the stuff, processed my card, and then I got a goodie bad with some fruit, chips, granola bars, and bottled water. It was a plain paper bag with Bay Willows Inn written in sharpie. Is it a professionally printed bag that obviously costs an arm and a leg? No. It is a project of love that is absolutely adorable? Yes! He also said they don't do breakfast, but gave us 4 gift cards to the Dunkin Donuts across the street! Awesome! The room is just like the rest of the place. It is a little dated, but it seems clean. Visible surfaces are clean, floor is vacuumed, the shockingly pink tile in the bathroom is scrubbed. The ultra bright vanity mirror above the sink is spotless. The window unit air conditioning was set to 65, and pumping away. Everything is way better than expected. We had just driven 15 hours to get here, and the first thing we did was jump in the shower. Water pressure wasn't top notch, but the water was hot and the shower was massive. It was not one of those tub inserts that you get at the chain places, but a hand tiled shower with a 6 inch lip and a floor drain. I'm a big dude, and I'm used to rubbing my shoulders against the curtain in hotel showers, but the shower stall in this place is massively huge and awesome. I love it. I also love the childlike curtain in the bathroom with the boats. The TV is small, and awkwardly placed, but we didn't come here to lock ourselves in the room and watch netflix. The wifi didn't work when we got here, but I requested that he cycle the router, and everything is up and running. I asked where could get craft beer, and he gave me a great suggestion. At the end of this diatribe what you can walk away from is this. Bay Willows Inn is a labor of love. They don't have Hilton money to do inconsequential updates, but they care so much more than any chain hotel manager every would. Everything is dated, but wonderful. Everything is older, but loved. Everything is home spun, but so much more meaningful. I am so glad we booked this stay.

This time is the first time we booked their Master Suite and my gosh it changed my opinions about rooms. Prior to this eye-opening experience a room was a room. If it has bed and functioning bathroom, I'm happy bc it's the place you spend the least amount of time in. We booked the Master Suite and it was absolutely amazing to have so much room and amenities. We spent more time in the room compared to what we have done in the past. It was WAY TO EASY! Nice porch where we sip on cocktails/drinks to pregame before we left for dinner we saved so much money that way . The couch was very nap friendly as well! I never nap on vacation but I did on this one! Nice size kitchen which we turned into a bar. TONS OF SPACE FOR ACTIVITIES Yaya's complimentary breakfast was out of this world as usual. We have no issue adding onto it and paying for it as well. PRICES ARE BEYOND REASONABLE compared to other places in the area and FOOD IS FANTASTIC! Do not leave here with out getting her rice pudding or balaclava! Her French Toast is my favorite but as you can see in the photos I posted it is all good!

It's never easy taking over a B&B, and the family that now runs this place seems very nice, and hospitable. That said, at $450 or more per night, execution is requisite for a high Yelp rating. We stayed here four 4-days and 3-nights in the Rosa room. Each room here is somewhat unique (I think there are only 8 rooms here), therefor experiences may be somewhat idiosyncratic to the specific room. Positives: + Hospitable welcome, alerted us by phone when the rooms was ready + Welcome gift (nice touch) + Large room + Gas fireplace which worked well + Comfortable king bed + Pleasant grounds + Separate entrance for this room + Convenient location + Excellent homemade breakfast with seating times to prevent crowding Negatives: - Road noise (on a very busy road, traffic including trucks 100 feet away) - Musty smelling, we couldn't keep windows open at night due to road noise - No sugar, etc. in room for coffee - Bathroom outlets not working - Bathroom door difficult to close - Blinds were broken on one side, and just left standing in the corner of the room, these should have been removed if they could not be repaired - Large piece of plastic left on the window sill, looked dirty there, not well cleaned - Uncomfortable sleep sofa couch for sitting and small TV - Microwave not working (actually it was after we figured out nobody plugged it in) - Outside light over door is on automatic timers, too bright for the light filtering shade, so the room is lit up at night (we prefer a dark room for sleeping) - Rosa backs up to the kitchen, and we could hear a lot of banging and noise at 10pm as they were doing prep work for the next morning The negatives balance out the positives for a 3-star stay. Bottom line, we'd be unlikely to return, especially to that room.

After we had checked out, we were finishing up a few last things by the pool and needed just a few minutes to gather our seven kids' belongings--we were two families traveling together, so it was a bit of a process. Initially, the manager allowed us a few extra minutes, but after about ten minutes she came over and, in a very rude and uncomfortable manner, told us we were trespassing and needed to leave immediately. We understand hotel policies and liability concerns, but the way it was handled felt far from hospitable. We just needed a short grace period to get everyone's things together, and being essentially hovered over and told we were trespassing left a really negative final impression. It's unfortunate because otherwise our experience was nice, but the departure soured the stay for us.

Update: One of their hotel staff replied to my comment but no where in it did they apologized for…read morethe aggressive behavior of their staff that I spoke to. They just address their policy but nothing about how brazen their staff was. So to me it is handled as "you as a customer misunderstood our policy so we can treat you in a brazen, hostile way we want to so long as you get your courtesy refund"

Positive & Negative…read more Positive Staff was very nice Housekeeping very good, clean rooms. Good location One bedroom suite with living room, kitchenette and dining table. Nice setup. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Stores downstairs as well. We didn't go to the G Floor restaurant but there are plenty near the hotel that are nice. Negative Walls are paper thin. Our room, 3rd floor, was above the shell with feet sculpture and a group of young adults hanging out over there were laughing, cursing, screaming until 2 am one night. I finally fell asleep only to be woken up at 6am by the woman in the next room who started talked non stop for about 1 1/2 hrs. I could hear every word as if she was next to me. Maybe she was on the phone or it was 2 women with the same sounding voice. I was trying not to listen. The restaurants and bars nearby it can get noisy at night so it depends on what time you go to bed if this is an issue for you. No towel rack for hand towel in bathroom for sink so countertop became cluttered and towel didn't dry properly. A light switch to no where in the bedroom so we had to find our way into the far corner of the room to turn on a light. Parking fee, so not worth the price and couldn't always find parking even though we paid to park. It seems shoppers were parking there taking up hotel guest spots. If you are a light sleeper like me then I dont recommend this hotel but if you sleep soundly and want to be within walking distance to shops then go for it.
