This is your typical Wienerschnitzel with a drive thru, an A frame building and a walk up window. I love a good corn dog, chili cheese fries, strawberry sundaes and more corn dogs. I grew up on this stuff but I didn't have it all the time. They have a special every day on menu items like ice cream cones, root beer floats and sundaes. I wish I could come here more often but this isn't healthy food at all they don't even offer salads like most fast food places. Well this is my place when I want to bring back some childhood memories.

Just left Wienerschnitzel and I would almost swear everyone and their Momma is there right now. There were at least ten cars in their tiny drive through section. The girl came out to each car separately to get money and make it faster for us. Great Customer service! I sure didn't want to cook tonight. I got the special 5 Chili Dogs and 5 Corn Dogs for $9.99 One Kraut dog, a large french fry and 2 Dr. Peppers. I am pretty sure that I will regret it later as I always do. But I just love eating here. My favorite thing about them is the hot dog buns. They are always so fresh and soft and chewy. They even have a Yelp sticker in the window

It's an old location but kept well clean and the staff always seems very nice. Lived in this neighborhood for years and always done business here and I continue to keep coming back. There mailers and coupons in daily specials are probably the reason I come back all the time.

We came here for lunch after my tennis practice because they were offering hot dog and chili dogs for .56 cents to celebrate their 56 anniversary. To my surprise they were pretty good. The hot dogs were a nice size the buns were soft and warm and the chili was slightly spicy. I purchased eight hot dogs to share with my husband with some left over for the next day for under $5.00. The service was fast and friendly; the dining area was outside and it was clean and in good condition. They also have a drive thru service and parking can be a challenge.

Disgusting!! Manager is touching the food with his bare hands. He just touched money!!! Yuck!!!!!!!

I was feeling lucky today.  So I ordered my fried fish with onion rings and paid $1 upcharge.  The problem with onion rings is they range from not good to great.  With fries they are usually fine. White fish was fried in a tempura batter infused with herbs.  White fish had a mild flavor and was nice and moist.  Batter was crunchy. Onion rings were mostly crunchy except the batter was too thick so some parts of the batter were not transformed by the frying process into crunchy goodness.   I didn't like the flavor of the herbs in the batter which distracted from the fried onion flavor. Service from the guy in charge was friendly and efficient.  My combo was $12.99 which is a great deal.  I'd order the fish again but not the onion rings.  Doing further research I found they are also listed on Yelp as BFF Burgers, Fish and Fries.  So that's the story on my lunch adventure.

Every bite was delicious! Of course, we had to get milkshakes to go, and our absolute favorite is the strawberry shake! the death by chocolate one is a close second!!! It's seriously SO good! Duke's Old Fashioned Onion Burgers has become a pretty popular spot in La Mesa. Every time I've…read moredriven by, there's always a steady stream of people coming in and out, so I figured it was finally time to see what the hype was about. They also rotate fun milkshake specials, and when I visited they had an Apple Pie Milkshake that sounded really good. I just wasn't in the mood for something sweet that day. I kept it simple and ordered the Single Onion Burger ($13.95) with mayo, ketchup, and lettuce, plus an order of the Original Fries ($5.75). The onion burger is made with fresh ground beef that's smashed with onions on the grill, and you can customize it with toppings like lettuce, tomato, pickles, jalapeños, cheese, mustard, and ketchup at no extra charge. Bacon is available for an additional charge. The restaurant itself was really clean, and I appreciated the self-serve condiment station stocked with ketchup, spicy ketchup, ranch, plenty of hot sauces, and to-go containers. The fries ended up being my favorite part of the meal. They're fresh cut and double fried, coming out piping hot with a crispy exterior and fluffy center. The portion was also super generous. They packed so many fries that they were spilling outside of the container into the bag. Paired with the ranch and spicy ketchup, they were honestly worth ordering on their own. The burger was a little more disappointing. The patty was overcooked, which made it pretty dry. You could even tell by the color that it had spent a little too much time on the grill. Since I usually keep my burgers pretty simple, there wasn't much to balance out the dryness, so I found myself dipping almost every bite into extra ketchup and ranch just to add some moisture. I can definitely see why Duke's is a neighborhood favorite, and I still like the concept behind their onion burgers. It just didn't completely satisfy the burger craving I walked in with. I'd come back for the fries without hesitation, and I'd be willing to give the burger another shot hoping I caught them on an off day.

Why have a "loyalty program" when they add points then reverse it later that same day. I went today and ordered my usual 2 burgers, fries and drinks. I gave my phone number for the Points. I then asked Vieann H (who identified herself as the manager) when I showed her my receipt from last time I visited and questioned why they reversed the previous points and why I got none from this receipt I produced. She tried to act like it was my fault I received no points and couldn't tell me why the points were reversed from the previous visit (even after she went back in the office to do the research. She told me when came back from the office, she could see all my order history but she couldn't give me back any points from my 2 previous visits. I told her this will be the last time I come and she is losing a customer over 29 points. SHE COULD CARE LESS. Her response to this was "I went in the back to do research". Beware! They don't even deserve the 1 Star I had to give them.

Torn about writing this review so going to go through it a bit like a story…read more We saw a coupon in clipp undecided to try it out. Buy an entrée get a free entrée. It was a little skeptical, but the reviews looked great. Despite living here for a few years now, I hadn't seen this place before. From the outside, it looked like a hole in the wall, very unsuspecting. We walked in, and it was huge inside! Many of the tables are family style, there's a bar, there's booths and there are games in the back. So definitely the perfect place for families and parties. It has an older charm that harkens to maybe the 80s? It's a locally owned family business. Something I always wanna support. It was 8 o'clock at night so towards the end of their day and the place was almost empty. We didn't realize it was close to their closing time. That may be why there was no greeting and no one to seat us. So we just pulled up a booth. A cloth was left on the table as though someone were stopped mid cleaning. So I wiped it down and moved the rag to another empty table. The waitress came over and I couldn't tell if she had just been upset or perhaps was suffering from allergies as she was sniffling. Having said that she put on a good face and helped us through our order. Here comes the very good part. The food was good. Dad had a jumbo hotdog which he thoroughly enjoyed. Mom had the mini chili hamburger and was amazed at how filling it was. She said the chili sauce was terrific. Is mine determines whether or not she likes the place by their sauce that is high praise. I had the mini cheeseburger which was good. Where did jumbo size fries which we split between regular fries and curly fries. Then where they good! And if you've seen some of my other reviews lately, I've been on a kick on whether or not the soda mixtures or any good. This Dr Pepper was perfect, just like the good old days. So well done on the food. They had some specials but be aware that the coupon is canceled if you go with the specials. For example, there is a hotdog special with great pricing, which would've suited Dad. However, that meant Mom and I could not take advantage of the free entrée coupon. It's up to you to figure out the least expensive option if that's important to you. The reason the star rating isn't five star is a small concern around health and safety. I say that as one of the waitresses had some very large sneezes and I noticed did not cover her mouth. So between that and constant sniffing from the other waitress, I started to worry about whether or not we might be catching something. Perhaps we just caught them on an off night. I also got the sense that they were really ready for the night to end. So again, we must've just caught them on an off night. If you're looking for good local American food definitely give it a try, perhaps earlier in the day

Upon looking at the menu, they have many different options to choose from; We opted for the potato cheese and sausage dog, the honey fries, and wings. We got our number and were told it would be 10 minutes. Once we got the food, she asked what toppings. We opted for spicy mayo and cheese sauce for the dogs. The food was hot and delicious, the wings perfectly crispy and Caramelized. The dog itself was somewhat of a disappointment because instead of sausage and cheese throughout, half the dog had cheese, and the other half had a tiny piece of sausage. The standout of the meal were the fries and wings! I was really hesitant about the fries because I never thought of putting honey on them, but they were incredibly flavorful and the perfect mix of sweet and savory. Overall this was a great experience and I would've preferred definitely go back to try the other dogs and get those wings and fries again.
