My wife and I were walking the mall and stumbled on Katzya, what a find!! If you've ever watched Japanese street food on YouTube this is very similar. My wife had the hotdog covered in rice batter with panko deep fried! DING! They are all beef and large. I went for the #17 spicy chicken wings. SNAP! Outstanding! It's hard to find good wings but they have them. We will be back as they have a large selection of hotdogs and wings. If you're in El Cajon and want to try something different, this is the place, we highly recommend Katzya. YUM!

These Korean corn dogs are magical. They are very authentic and delicious. We love them .

Wow is my only word. I'm out w my nephew and of course he wanted a corn dog. Katzya are next level corn dogs. It's the Katsu breading that makes the difference. I tried the chicken which was crispy and delish. be careful, the katsu keeps the heat in and they come served piping hot.

Interesting food choices. I'm going to try this new place . It looks good. Service is fast and easy. Ambience is mall food . Lots of seating.

I came to this place twice in one week. The boneless fried chicken is amazing!! And the owner is one of the coolest guys I've met. I have yet to try a corn dog yet but I can vouch for the dumplings and boneless fried chicken!!

This is a vendor at the H Mart food court in Kearny Mesa which specializes in fried cutlet dishes and Korean fried chicken. I opted for the latter as I wanted to compare their product to other places in town. You can ask for drumsticks, wings, or tenders. The flavor choices were original, soy garlic, seasoned, spicy, and spicy seasoned. I asked for mine to be soy garlic wings. Despite the line ahead of me, the food didn't take long to be ready for pick-up at the service counter. A dish of pickled radishes marinated in soy sauce came as a side with the chicken. The crust was crunchy and not too thick. The size of the wings was a disappointment for the price though. Eight pieces were in a regular order while a large order had twelve pieces and cost about 50% more. Overall, I gave Katzya a 3.5 star rating for their Korean fried chicken.

Wow wo we wo. This is hands down the absolute best fried chicken you will ever have. I get the boneless fried chicken. You will never have such a crispy, juicy, consistent taste than this place. Come and get it y'all.

We ordered the Crispy Chicken Combo during our visit to HMart! This is the most delicious fried chicken we have tried that has the least grease. The breading on the exterior has a perfect crunch while also maintaining the savory moisture of the chicken. When paired with white rice, French fries, and veggies this combination is perfect! Highly recommend!

12/16/23, tried this place again. Quick and fast. Very good. I would suggest going there. Eating at multiple places in the food court. It is very busy there at the mall.

We came here on a Saturday night to order chicken wings. We got the original and soy garlic. Both are delicious, came out piping hot, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The soy garlic comes with a generous amount of sauce which is great but the chicken skin can be a bit soggy after a while. My gripe with this place after coming for a while is the customer service. We came throughout the year and the service has been consistently disappointing. Good food but dont expect much out of service. Right in front of the counter, theres a sign that claims "No Utensils" its meant for non customers but wow, okay, and i dont get while they wont sell a bowl of rice! When they sell rice with their katsu. I just dont get it. Lol we still come back for chicken but we mentally prepare ourselves for the rude staff.

The service was a little slow for a place that wasn't too busy but it was worth the wait! It's a fun treat to have!

Well this was a hidden surprise. This spot took over in the parkway plaza, super recently. I opted for a sausage/mozzarella potato dog. My partner opt'd for chicken wings. We shared the luv fries and added more sauce and powder. We waited a little bit as there were quite a few people ahead of us, however you could literally watch them make everything. So you know you werent waiting for food that was just sitting under a warmer. Being in a mall, it definitely had a different vibe to it but it was nice because you could just grab your food and sit wherever in the food court. The cashier asked if I wanted my dog dipped in sugar, which was recommended on the signs, so I jumped on that. And it was surprisingly good. We tried some various sauces and found everything to be super sweet. The cheddar sauce had no hints of cheddar and just looked ultra orange. I'd most likely go back for another combo dog and some fries. They were super delicious!

Avoid the sugar. The mozzarella stuffed with potato is good. Not filled up with cheese as expected. Overall it's not up to all the hype.

The bossam is sooo good, super tender and flavorful. The cabbage wrap isn't as pickled and is a little on the harder side, but it didn't bother me too much. We tried the gamjatang too and it's good, but definitely come with a group because it's a lot, like at least four people kind of portion and still some leftovers. The seollongtang is also really solid, but my current favorite is the spicy buckwheat noodles. So good. Service has been great every time, everyone is really friendly and attentive. The place is clean, but the only downside is sometimes there's a strong cleaner smell that kind of overpowers the food. And parking in that plaza is so rough but even with that, I still keep coming back.

Aside from the food, the service was great from the busboy to our server, and to the lady (owner?) who wished us well as we left the restaurant. The ambiance was great. It felt like I was in a small Korean village restaurant enjoying local cuisine. While the food, service, and ambiance were great, the parking situation is brutal. It is a small lot shared with other businesses in the plaza and spaces can be tight for a truck or SUV. The key here is patience or arrive early. We made it before our reservation and I'm so glad we got a head start since I knew we would be on Convoy (iykyk). Overall, they really went the extra mile to accommodate a reservation for our large party and their service was above and beyond. Kudos to their team. And their dishes are worth coming back to. Here we go - so I paid full price for a combo meal, but several of the included items weren't available. They were out of my side dishes, out of rice for tomorrow, and ultimately had no rice at all--yet I was still charged full price. What's frustrating is that two different servers encouraged me to order the combo meal in the first place. I was dining in and also placing a takeout order, but I never received everything that was included in what I purchased. As someone who occasionally does paid collaborations with restaurants, I want to be clear that this was not a collaboration. It was simply a regular customer experience. It's eye-opening to see how some restaurants operate when you're just another paying customer. Experiences like this make you wonder whether the level of service changes when promotions or influencers are involved. Being in "ninja mode" definitely gives you a different perspective. At the end of the day, customers should receive what they're paying for--or be charged accordingly when key items are unavailable. Restaurants need to do better.
