We walked into the Cafe side, and began to order at the register when we realized they also have a bar next door called Wiki bar so we came in here instead since it not only had Happy Hour but the ambiance was so much better. We sat at a high top near the door. We decided to get 3 Double tap beers $24. We shared an order of Burrata & Bread $15.25, Brussel Sprouts $6. My sister enjoyed her Pepperoni Pizza $15.25, & I got the Salmon Burger (a bit fishy) $16.25 + $4 Fries. I also got a cup of Butternut Squash soup $8.50 unfortunately it had been sitting on the stove a bit too long so not only was it extremely hot and hard to eat, it had a slight burnt taste. we got the crispy korean chicken wings exactly at 3pm so it was fresh. the texture & flavor were perfect (a bit of crunch with juicy chicken and a hint of spice but mostly sweet). the pepperoni & mushroom pizzetta was good. the flavor was average, nothing crazy to stand out from other pizzas elsewhere. the only downside was that it was quite pricey for the portion size. 5 wings for about $12 (about $2.50 per piece) & about $20 for a personal size pizza regardless, i would come again for the wings though! read more

I did not expect to find such a cute little Tiki Bar in a Best Western. Our server was very friendly, attentive, and quick. We ordered dinner (Bar Fries, Angus Burger, and the Habanero Burger) and drinks. I ordered my usual which is a tequila, soda water, and orange slice but sadly they did not have orange slices but offered some orange juice instead. The new payment system they have requires a chip in a credit/debit card. Doesn't seem like a big deal unless you are like me and have a debit card without a chip. This is my favorite bar in Davis. It's near campus but I love that all different age groups come here. It's not just for twenty-somethings and the vibe is comfortable, not a meat market, not too-cool-for-school, just chill. I have spent many evenings feeling completely comfortable by myself sitting at the bar, eating a full dinner entree (which comes from the restaurant next door), reading a novel on my Kindle or watching whatever game is on the tv behind the bar, and drinking a manhattan or the Freeborn Hall (I think that's what the drink is called? Named after a building on campus.) Bartenders are super friendly and excellent drink-makers and I always feel at home here. read more

I was looking for a place on Davis to grab a quick bite and saw that they had a happy hour with bar bites for 50% off so I had to try it! I walked in and was greeted by the bartender. I ordered the seasonal pizza which was a four cheese pizza and the black bean nachos with no meat. They were able to accommodate my special request which was nice! The food was goo and definitely filling due to the larger portion sizes and I ended up taking a box home. The best part about this experience is that the food is 50% off which is a really good deal for the amount you get! I didn't get to try the drinks but will the next time I stop by. read more

Came here for happy hour on a Thursday evening. The drinks were a solid 3.5, and the food varies. The Wiki Whacky Woo was strong but sweet, and I wish they lit the 151 on fire. The Korean chicken wings were 3 (a little more flavor needed), the angus beef sliders were 4 (medium rare, but they never asked), and the bar fries a sad 2 (the cheese was terrible). The music wasn't great, and definitely didn't vibe with a too bar setting. The service was fine though, and seems to be from the best western next door. Overall, the Wiki Bar still deserves 4 stars as places like this are rare in Davis. Cheers! read more

By far my Number #1 go-to-eat place in Davis! It just is! The bar is located in the Best Western Hotel near the Farmers Market. Cafe Bernardo is located on one side of the hotel lobby and Wiki Bar on the other. They are just steps from each other. Wiki Bar also has its own private entrance as does Cafe Bernardo. You do not have to enter the hotel to reach either one. Food served in the Wiki Bar is prepared in the Cafe Bernardo kitchen. The menu is the same in both. You may enjoy sit down dining service in the Wiki Bar. It is an intimate small area with high top tables and a nice wood bar if you wish to watch either of the two TVs, chat with the bartender or just throw some down :-). Cafe Bernardo is order at the front and then sit down and wait for your food (fun, lively restaurant.). Both are owned by restaurateur, Randy Paragary, who has other great restaurants in the Sacramento area ( See my review for Cafe Bernardo at The Pavilions.). I love the laid-back atmosphere of the Wiki Bar. All the bartenders are first class, knowledgeable about everything cocktails and make you feel welcome whether you are alone or with friends. Visited the Wiki Bar this morning for breakfast and was very disappointed in the staff working. About four of them were on break, talking loud and talking badly about management and the food. At one point the head bartender for the day, Laura, got her food, yelled for everyone to hear, "look at this, gross, no one should pay for this food". As much as we raised our eyebrows she wasn't getting her behavior for the establishment she works for was uncalled for. Definitely more management oversight is needed. What's the best lunch and wine by the glass option for $20 or less to be found in downtown Davis? If you guessed "that weird, slightly hidden bar located inside the Best Western Plus with the outlandish Hawaiian themed decor" then you're exactly right! The food is prepared courtesy of Cafe Bernardo and has delicious and straightforward menu items like avocado toast and pizzettas simply made with fresh ingredients. Wines by the glass include a lot of good California options under $12 including a house red (Pinot Noir) and white (Chardonnay) made by Navarro Vineyards in the Anderson Valley for the Paragary's restaurant group, which is based in Sacramento. My recommendation is either to pair a pizzetta with Lodi old vine Zinfandel from Peirano Family wines ($20 plus tip) or an order of avocado toast (2 generous slices topped with radish, micro greens, and toasted sunflower seeds) with a house Chardonnay or Domaine Chandon sparkling wine ($15). Maybe not the best meal of your life, but satisfying, simple, local, and well served. The Hawaiian vintage artwork on the walls is simply a bonus. Try it next time you want to dine outside the box in Davis for lunch. read more

I see that many don't realize this is around the corner from Cafe Bernardo in the same hotel building. I believe they're the same company. Went with friends yesterday (Friday) to Wiki Bar and Happy Hour deals were good so we ordered from that menu. I loved the Korean wings and the pizza, but bar fries were dry. Tropical mixed drinks were all very good, and service was excellent. I'm definitely going back soon! read more

Before I say anything else, I need to say one thing: try their bar fries. Their happy hour pricing is ridiculously inexpensive (half off aforementioned bar fries!!!) and there are a ton of options. We went for happy hour to try something different. The bottle of rosé we got was $26 and we got two orders of bar fries to split among the three of us. It was amazing. I highly recommend. My only issue with it was that the ambiance is kind of boring, and we really wanted to be outside, but there was an extreme amount of flies for some reason. Love love love Wiki Bar! I went pre-Covid with my housemates and loved the fun poppin' environment it was. Just went recently after having been fully vaccinated and able to sit indoors and it's a nice chill environment, love the drinks! I got the hibiscus drink and my partner got the cucumber gimlet, both delicious and refreshing! I had the tacos bar bites as well and it was great! Just the right amount of food to not fill me up. I'm giving this place two stars, unfortunately. The bar is hectic and kind of a mess. There is only one bartender serving the whole place. Hidden gem of Davis. Bartenders are incredibly friendly, and highly skilled at making you novel and interesting drinks. The management and staff all go out of their way to make sure you're enjoying your time and have your needs met. Music and ambience are tasteful and relaxing. Food is pretty good too, with a rotating seasonal plates menu. Would recommend the chicken or salmon plate. They also have a special for Korean Wings every Wednesday, and you can ask for extra sauce on the side--this acts as a sauce reservoir to dip your wings in. Worth it. read more

I use to come here all the time in college. They are known for their Davis wikis! About 7 different alcohols and a shot of 151 in the straw. You're only able to have 2 max, but one will get you. The staff here are always friendly, and make the drinks with little cringe to our faces. It's a bit smaller in here and can get crowded, but it's worth the wait! read more

Came back here after a couple years and it's relatively the same but you sure do notice the level of service being only suitable for a college student. Wow. Just wow. When you advertise we close at midnight I didn't know it meant we close at midnight eastern time. What kind of bar closes at 9pm... Especially on a Wednesday when you advertise a drink deal. Fellow college students who are trying to do the trinity, either come early like before 7 to ensure you can cop a Wiki or just pay a couple extra dollars and go to another bar (someone who worked in the industry, we ALL know how to make this basic drink).
