I have been to the Wilbur Chocolate store in PA many , many times over the years . The factory was originally housed in the century old building right across the street from the fairly new retail store. They have since renovated the old building to a market , I did not get a change to go inside , I'll have something to look forward to on my next visit . Too bad the retail store does not have the same quaint , charming appeal as the old store , even still it is nicely decorated . Thank goodness the quality of the chocolate has not change one bit ! They make exceptionally very high quality , smooth and creamy chocolates! They are particularly know for their candy buds which melt in your mouth! Today I purchased some dark chocolate almond bark filled with nuts and also some baking chips . Their unsweetened cocoa powder is amazing too ! It's so , so rich and chocolatey ! Great for baking , I use it for brownies , and homemade hot choc ! I bought 2 bags last visit ! I was so happy to see that they were doing a great job following all the coronavirus rules , masks, gloves , distancing and limiting guests ! If you are ever in the area it is most definitely a place which is worth a visit especially if you love chocolate ! read more

Wilbur chocolate is some of the best chocolate I've ever had in my life! I originally came here back in 2012 when I still lived in PA and my wife and I were visiting family in Dec 2021, so we had to stop back in here. The tasting room is now in a new building across the street, but the chocolate remains excellent and they have so many more products now. The buds are still the main draw and they come in milk and dark chocolate. I typically much prefer dark chocolate over milk chocolate, but the milk chocolate here is very, very tasty and very creamy. They sell the buds in a mixed pack, so that's what we grabbed. They have a variety of products here from chocolate-covered everything to peanut butter and mint-inspired treats. We got some of the peanut butter bars and holy moly, that's damn tasty. I'm so glad they ship as we now live in TN and we'll definitely be ordering some more when we run out! read more

first allow me to say the customer service was beyond amazing, I placed an order for chocolate for cookies I ordered 6 different things tk try out and was familiar with the buds. when i placed my order i entered my wrong shipping address called as soon as i noticed 1230ish and got a wonderful lady on the phone she changed the address and assured me it would still go out today and arrive tomorrow . Now price wise zero complaints the quality of the product is amazing , this was my first order hit not my first time tasting the product . My order was about 45 dollars in product and 49 dollars to ship. my product was packaged anoit 1ish let the tracking i got and arrived at just before noon and i got to it at 1220ish. I was excited to taste one of those milk chocolate buds and I wish to say when i order from other chocolate shops usually the item is in a small cooler style this arrived in a box insides a bag with a small ice pack tk jeep it warm and they stage it's about 18 hours of cold time. so when i started to open my bag my chips and discs were very soft and had become one large thing in each of the plastic bags and the same had happened to three bags of buds as well. This is not a huge issue as most of it was for cookies so i will just shred and chop it for the cookies and i am sure the flavor will not change one bit but i am worried about future orders. Besides a large variety of chocolates and candies, there is a video to watch about the history of the company, memorabilia, and a window to watch the staff making chocolates in the "factory." We were there on a weekday after Christmas and it was busy. There's not a lot of room inside the store. I can't imagine how crazy it would be on Saturdays. I had to buy some dark (or as they call them "semi-sweet") Buds and they were very good. Smooth and creamy! $8.95 a pound seems pretty reasonable to me for quality chocolate. As far as chocolate factories go, this one is far safer than Willy Wonka's, but a good bit noisier. You can watch people making chocolate here (apparently Barack Hussein Obama visited and watched them make chocolate one time), and it's pretty cool to watch a few workers hand make some chocolates. Some people say the prices are kinda pricey, but you know what? Compared to their local competitor, some company called Hershey, these people put more dedication into their craft. We couldn't visit Lititz without dropping in at the Wilbur Chocolate Retail store. The store is located in the heart of downtown Lititz, and across from what was formerly the Wilbur Chocolate Factory. There are tons of chocolate themed items available; from chocolate covered pretzels, raisins, and cashews, to chocolate roasted coffee and souvenir mugs and sweatshirts. My husband selected the milk, dark, and white chocolate drizzled caramel bark and it was amazing. The detail that really sets this chocolate store apart, is the ability to observe the the chocolate being made behind a glass window, while shopping. The store smelled wonderful and the retail associates were friendly and helpful. They also sell a cooler bag to store your chocolate in, if you'll be traveling far and are concerned about your candy melting in the heat. read more

This was such a nice little chocolate shop. I really enjoyed watching them make chocolates through the window. They have a good variety of chocolate items, though I was looking for a few more varieties; such as chocolate covered honeycomb and chocolate covered cherries with juice(not cordials). I did try slices of whole oranges that were candied and dipped in chocolate, they were awesome. This is a great place to get a little gift for everyone. One of the first things you will notice when entering the town of Lititz is the scent of chocolate in the air, no it's not a breeze coming in from Hershey. Lititz is the world headquarters for Wilber chocolates and their Candy Americana Museum and Factory Store is a must see. This chocolate factory has been around since 1884 and they are still making chocolate covered treats and fudge in this same location. The museum is incorporated with the chocolates throughout the store, one area displays old kitchen utensils and copper kettles that were used back in the days. Vintage China and tea pots and cups are displayed behind glass cabinets. Oh for the love of chocolate, for a candy store, this place is huge and has a selection of fresh hand dipped fruits, hot fudge sauce, truffles, chocolate covered cookies, peanut butter meltaways and peanut butter cups. I went a little nuts, yes I bought those too, dark chocolate covered pretzels, dark chocolate coffee crunch squares which have ground espresso beans though out and so good. Hubby grabbed a box of chocolate covered cherries and I didn't even get one! Sweet elderly ladies are in the back of the store making fudge and decorating large chocolate bars for special occasions. Wilber's makes for a nice gift shop with tshirts and hoodies, coffee mugs and travel cups. They have their own cocoa blended coffee, ground or whole and they sell gift packages in stone crocks, apothecary jars, vintage glass milk bottles, decorated tins, painted wooden boxes or in a poly bag or a candy box. You can buy teddy bears, a checkerboard and they even have their own chocolate-opoly game. They sell chocolate soap and bath products and totes to carry it all home in or to give to someone who needs to smell like chocolate. Whether you are two or eighty two it is so neat to watch them make and hand dip chocolates. President Obama did, check out my pics. Oh and they are famous for their Bud, which looks a lot like a Hershey's Kiss, but guess what the Bud came about first.... Man Wilber, you should have flagged those little buds. OMG! I am such a fan of Wilbur's! This chocolate factory has been around since 1884 and has been supplying products for confectioneries, bakeries, and dairy industries for over 125 years. When you walk in, you will be overwhelmed with the variety of chocolates, hand-dipped chocolates, candies, and gift options the place has to offer. I absolutely loooooooove their Buds - these bite-sized chocolates resemble a flower bud and come in dark or milk chocolate. The milk chocolate ones are heavenly, as they are a perfect balance of the cocoa and the cream - creamy, decadent, and just melts in your mouth - YUM! If you walk towards the back, you can check out their little 'museum' (just a display case with no admission fee; all part of the factory), of their candy-making machines and memorabilia. Further back, you can check out the employees creating and dipping chocolates! But aside from that tidbit I don't know how much of a lure the museum part would be except for die-hards cocoa-lovers. (At least it was free, which is always a bonus.) But their products? Wilbur's is definitely a great tourist stop. Very "Pennsylvania" and small town feel. This is a good place to get some good delectables to take with you from your trip and give as gifts. You can literally smell the sweet aroma of candy and chocolate being made from outside the traditional brick building. Must-haves: Milk Chocolate Buds. Period. Sooooo delicious and literally taste/feel like they melt in your mouth. When we attended the Lititz Fire & Ice Festival, Wilbur Chocolates was the first place we went. So many friends had raved about the Wilbur Buds so I made a beeline for the samples, news flash, they weren't kidding, these little buds of chocolate are so delicious, and just the right size to satisfy my chocolate cravings without the guilt. In the front of the shop there's some displays and info on the history of Wilburs and you can watch candy being made through 2 large glass windows. Both the dark & milk chocolate buds are yummy as are all of their chocolates. I ended up getting some dark chocolate covered strawberries (the ginormous ones), a bag of milk chocolate buds and some chocolate covered pretzels for hubby and I have been portioning out my buds so I don't run out before our next visit, hopefully before the next Fire & Ice Festival so the place won't be so crowded. read more

Wilbur Chocolate was a pretty fun visit. There is the Candy Americana Museum which has all sorts of artifacts and pictures from the past. There wasnt really a tour, but you could see through a window into the kitchen, where several ladies were making goodies. You could place special orders and get info on fundraising oppertunities. They had all sorts of candies, chocolate covered cashews, chocolate covered fruits, buds, kisses, giant candy bars, etc. It was a pretty fun experience. Accepts Visa & MC. Took my wife out for a "Candy Day" on the scooter. We hit a whole bunch of places in the Lititz, Lebanon, Hershey area. The only problem was we didn't have a cooler, so anything chocolate was a nono on this nice 80 degree day. I've seen the Wilbur Company store as I passed through this area while working as a paper shredder and each time I wanted to stop by, problem was me in a 45 foot truck not able to park it somewhere. Well, luckily a scooter can go pretty much anyplace it wants to. The old time feel of this place immediately hits you when you enter. The sound of the machinery above you makes you feel like you are right in the heart of their processing center, even if that actually happens a few hundred feet away at the plant, they still achieved their goal. The candy hits you right as you step through the door, their famous "wilbur buds" in baskets everywhere and along the back wall in packs and bags. Milk, dark, and even white chocolate now. Which I have never had before. It's a shame that hershey is such a powerhouse and forced their "kisses" on the world, because this place has them beat hands down when it comes to the quality of chocolate they use. It isn't bitter, it's nice and smooth, creamy melts in your mouth, and takes forever to do so texture is practically sex on your tongue. Since we knew buying anything in large quantities was a bad idea, for 75c each, we bought a 6 pack of buds and walked down the street to the corner cafe and ordered 2 milks and took 30 minutes just sipping milk and melting buds, talk about a fantastic memory we created. Back to the store, after the candy section, is a display of their history and some of the items they used to cook with when "Wilbur" first began making buds. Large copper kettles, huge mallets, big mixing spoons, you name it. Really makes you feel like you're back in the 1900's, Apparel, bath accessories, and other antiques line the walls for your viewing and purchasing pleasure. The third and final section of the store was filled with vases and tea kettles from ages ago, along with a display of various candy items that the employees were making fresh at a table behind a piece of glass. They asked if we needed help, we just informed them we were watching, and they went back to work. Everything had a friendly atmosphere to it. So my man tells me that we're going to this chocolate factory in the small town where his mom lives and that it's the best chocolate I'll ever have. I think "yeah right, this place in the States and I'm from Canada PLUS I've had my share of British chocolate". Well, I can't say it's the best chocolate I've ever had, but it's pretty darn close! Wafts of sweet-smelling chocolate smells drift down the street and you know you're getting close. The inside isn't big, but it's loaded with chocolate and candy paraphernalia. We needed a shopping basket. The Wilbur buds seem to be what they're known for, and I can understand why. They come in both milk and dark chocolate and both are amazing, but I think my favorite thing I tried was the homemade peanut butter marshmallow chocolate squares. Oh man. Little antique chocolate shop. The good part - the tour was free. The bad part - there was NO tour. This place looks like your grandmothers 3 story brownstone. It is filled with nostalgic antique chocolate related chachkas and chocolates for sale. The "tour" is more akin to a zoo exhibit. There were some old ladies, probably working there since the inception of the company, making chocolate treats behind a glassed partition. You watch ... they make chocolate ... you watch ... they make chocolate ... you get bored and leave ... they're still making chocolates. Despite my wife's insistence to the contrary, I still believe they were animatronics. They had some samples of their famous "nibs". They were only okay. I joked around with some other tourists that Wilbur must have been the bastard child of the Hershey family. (They didn't laugh.) Overall, not worth the stop but it was free. read more
