If you find yourself in Litiz, PA, and enjoy chocolate , Wilbur is literally right around the block from Julis Sturgis Pretzel shop. This was my second visit through Litiz, PA and was glad to have had time to stop in. Wilbur factory, located across the street is no longer in operation , since 2016. The factory was turned into a hotel with restaurants in 2019. The hotel esthetics were kept from the factory, with a few other artifacts, the walk across the street is highly recommended. Wilbur , chocolate shop simply gourmet since 1884. Their signature , is their Wilbur buds, which when I first tried them thought were for baking. Wow, was I wrong, the helpful clerk told me they were for eating. Wilbur buds reminded me of Hershey kisses, but 100 percent better, based on ones palet. Inviting atmosphere, where your able to see chocolate production, taste test, shop and watch a video on the coco history of Wilbur. A must visit.
Great store for chocoholics. Had to FaceTime the husband who is the chocolate connoisseur in the family. He chose carefully and gave everything a thumbs up. Staff was so friendly and helpful with recommendations.
My friend and I spent the afternoon in Lititz and she said we needed to stop in to Wilbur Chocolate. She said it was the original chocolate company in the area that predated Hershey. They offered free samples of their buds, which resembled Hershey's Kisses. I wasn't that impressed by the milk chocolate bud, as it didn't really melt in my mouth as I expected it to. Their packaged items were pretty pricey and there were not a lot of options to buy smaller sized bags or boxes. I ended up getting a milk chocolate pretzel, which was nothing special, and a milk chocolate covered oreo with Carmel, that was really good. The store does have windows where you can watch the candy being made, but as we visited on a Sunday, there was no one working. It's a local, well known candy company, but I just didn't see what all the fuss was about.
Delicious! It's a retail shop with a huge assortment of chocolates including nuts, fruits, barks, patties, cocoa powder, beans and so much more. The former factory is now a hotel across the street in which you sides to be able to visit but unfortunately the current factory is now relocated. However the chocolate is still I believable and a must-stop!

The people working there are nice. There are samples. You can watch them make chocolates. You can buy some chocolate, and across the street is a cafe where you can have their hot chocolate.
Came back for another visit. Walk along the side of the building to get in and leave thru the front door. Ample parking and conveniently located by tons of shops and restaurants. Love their chocolate buds, by far the best I've had! They are so creamy and perfect for grabbing a handful when you have a sweets craving. Purchased some chocolate coffee this time so excited to try that.

For those looking to try the original Hershey Kiss, Wilbur Bud, you can grab a free sample a few feet after entering the store. We had both milk and semi-sweet options available when we went. The store has a ton of options, from gift boxes and bulk bags to smaller, individually wrapped items. There's even Wilbur swag, like hats and shirts, near the front of the store. Along the way you can check out some original candy-making equipment, some dating back to the early 1900s! I'd also mention that the parking lot is rather small, but downtown Lititz is gorgeous. There are plenty of walkable stops close by, including a bar, duck pond, and visitor center. What a great way to spend a chocolate-filled afternoon without the Hershey crowds!
More of a chocolate store, though you can see the staff making their specialty confections. While the chocolate is good, the prices are premium.
I've been enjoying Wilbur chocolate for a handful of years. My friend who is a local would often gift me the milk, chocolate buds, which are my favorite. I was so excited to finally visit the storefront. They were pretty cleaned out since I was visiting just after Christmas, so they weren't Full on all shelves, but I still got a handful of new things to try. My absolute favorites were the peanut butter meltsways and the dark chocolate cranberries.

A charming, old-fashioned chocolate shop that perfectly captures its nostalgic appeal. The store features a chocolate-making area behind a glass partition and offers a wide variety of chocolate-covered treats. Historical information about Wilbur, along with a video detailing the brand's history, is displayed both inside and outside the shop. We thoroughly enjoyed our treats, and the cheerful staff was delighted to present their excellent products.
My Husband saw this place on Instagram and it came highly recommend. They have a free sample table where you can sample some of their Chocolates. It's a quaint little shop with plenty of options and choice of chocolates, specialty chocolates and chocolate covered anything you want. They have a candy kitchen onsite and you can watch them make it. I will return if I'm up this way again.

Im a big chocolate lover so this place was right up my alley! They have their own parking lot and it's a nice little store! They have samples out which is a nice touch. They offer lots of different choices, from chocolate chips to chocolate covered Oreos, you can find something for everyone here. It's a little pricey but honestly not too bad for good quality chocolate (I have spent much more at other places!) The service was great and the inside wasn't crowded and was decently easy to navigate. It's a cute shop with a historic vibe on the outside as well. read more
They have free samples which are yummy! There are so many varieties and different things to buy. It's pricey but it's all worth it. We got Oreo bark (my office loved it), malt balls, chocolate covered graham crackers, chocolate covered pretzel, chocolate covered Rice Krispies, and chocolate covered animal crackers. It was all great. I wish I bought more. You can see the workers making items. You get a quality shopping bag. read more
Living for six months in Lititz as a little boy, I loved walking to the original factory to watch them make Wilber buds. Returning decades later, the original factory is now a Hilton. (To their credit, the restoration of the building is impressive.) The only place you can go inside to see them make chocolate is the retail store across the street. It's a large store with lots to buy, but start with the milk chocolate Wilbur buds. They have free samples to try it before you commit. read more

This is a must stop in the Lititz area. Even if you're in the Lancaster area like we were. This is some of the best chocolate you will ever experience. Plenty of product to choose from staff are very informative and helpful. Will be back for sure read more

"Your love Is better than chocolate Better than anything else that I've tried" (Sara McLaughlin) Besides my grand-daughter, who doesn't love chocolate? We sure do, so we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Wilbur Chocolates. Old man Wilbur was quite the chocolate entrepreneur and was already in the business pre-1900 in Philadelphia. He tinkered with a chocolate mold machine and started popping out individual chocolates shaped like flower buds way back in 1894. Today, their Lititz store is a chocolate lover's dream with chocolates of every description on display. We picked up a box of Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Cherry Cordials and a bag of Sweet and Salty Bark. Both were great, especially the Cherry Cordials which sure as hell didn't taste like they were sugar free ! If you are ever in the area, be sure to visit the sweet little town of Lititz, and the extra sweet delights you'll find inside the Wilbur Chocolates shop. read more

Bottom Line: Friendly staff and lots of chocolate candy in a quaint storefront. I didn't know anything about Wilbur Chocolate until visiting Lititz. My husband and I felt compelled to visit the chocolate store and to splurge. We received a friendly greeting and we were offered a shopping bag which of course we managed to fill with impulse purchases. We left with chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate peanut butter candy and salted caramel chocolate candy. It was a fun and indulgent experience. read more
I hadn't heard of Wilbur Chocolates before, but they have a history dating back to the 1800s. The original factory and museum in Lititz have closed down in recent years and been converted into condos and a Hilton hotel property. However, they've opened up a retail store right across the street from the former factory. It's said that they're the original creators or the chocolate bud, which Hershey later copied as Hershey's Kisses. They have a free sampling station set up near the entrance of the store where you can try their milk chocolate buds. They are a bit richer and fancier version of the Hershey's Kiss...perhaps a slightly more premium chocolate. The retail store has all kinds of chocolate-related goodies, and while it wasn't exactly cheap, I picked up a sampling of goodies to try out and share with others. While I doubt Wilbur Chocolates will ever reach the prominence of Hershey's, it's a great historical chocolatier and the perfect place to stop by in the small and charming town of Lititz for those who appreciate chocolate. read more

Cute little chocolate shop. Went in with a sweet tooth and they delivered. Picked up butterscotch chips and several of their signature chocolates. My recommendation is don't go in hungry or you will end up with a lot of sweets. read more
The most egregious example of greed in all of Lititz has got to be Wilbur Chocolates. Nearly $8 for about eleven potato chips drizzled with some chocolate! Other then that, the chocolate is pretty good. The White Chocolate Bark is rich and creamy; it's really good. All I could think about while eating the chocolate I got here was, every bite better be amazing for these prices. The price sticks out like such a sore thumb it is impossible to ignore. It's almost as if Willy Wonka made a mistake by giving his factory to Charlie, who in turned raised the prices to increase profit without doing anything to justify the costs. Wilbur Chocolate has a Main Street feel with Wall Street prices. read more
