Beer Geeks, Wine Enthusiasts, Hobos and Alcoholics rejoice! Hands down this is largest liquor store in Fort Collins, if not Larimer county. Wilbur's keeps a ridiculous stock of beverages. About 65% of the products in the store appear to be wine, I'm not much of a wine guy but i do like dessert champagne and sake and soju once and a wile and they do have a good selection of those. Its hard to find Soju anywhere so its awesome they carry it. The beer selection is about what you'd expect from an 'Total Beverage" or Liquormart type store. There's a huge wall of it. They also feature a pretty decent make your own 6 pack section. Where i think wilbur's beats out most other large liquor stores we have on the front range is there bombers. They have so many bombers here it's nuts. Wile i usually can't afford to buy super premium beer that comes in bombers when i have some extra cash its fun to take a look and pick one up. Another great feature is they have a few Belgian beers i've never seen for sale outside of Europe, for instance Leffe Brune (if only they could get Leffe Tripple or Leffe ruby). Anyone that appreciates good micro brewed or good imported beer should be able to find something they'd be willing to drink here. Personally i get excited to try beers I've ever had before, which is getting harder and harder to do these days but sometimes wilbur's will surprise me. The spirits selection is awesome too. They have everything you could show up wanting and everything you might buy that you never knew you wanted. They have a pretty decent selection of every type of spirit with the biggest being ether there scotch selection or vodka selection. They also have a super high end room room when you first walk in for everyone to ooggle the $5,000 bottles of scotch. They have some pretty decent sales rolling each week, so if you buy according to those you can get some pretty high end booze for some discount prices. One of the benefits of being such a large liquor store. Also! Get the card, they can get you some really nice discounts. read more

Wilburs is the best liquor store in northern Colorado, hands down. Their selection is seemingly endless and very well organized. The staff are fantastic, every time I've ever needed a question answered someone has been readily available to help me, or if they couldn't they were able to page someone who could. That's one of the best things about Wilburs, if you don't know what exactly you are looking for they are the best around at helping you find what you're looking for. The heavy-metal beer guru has more beer knowledge than I thought possible! Always fun talking with him. The prices are definitely competitive and their sales are always great, having a Wilburs card is a must have, you can accumulate points as well as receive the best sales prices. I've been coming here for great prices and awesome customer service for years. They are big enough to have a great selection and small enough to have a great customer service team. Their beer selection is second to none. Easy to navigate and easy to find some great rare selections. The wine department is also awesome. They have good prices and some great bottles to suit any budget. It's really easy to find something budget friendly, especially with their sales. For me the whiskey section is the reason to come here. The selection is legit, and they have sales that offer real discounts on even their top shelf bottles. I can't stand getting told something is on sale and finding that they marked up the price to show a BS discount. Not the case at Wilbur's. I bought some Four Roses private barrel selection for $52 which is usually $69, and some Glenlivet 12 year old scotch that was normally $50 for $32. These were on sale for Fathers Day, but you can find deals like this here all the time. The staff is also excellent. Mat runs an excellent crew, and has employees of that want to help and give recommendations when you ask. The icing on the cake is their Military/First Responder discount. Wilburs has what I drink: Scotch, rum, imported beer, and 40's. Good selection of $50-$100 scotch. Selection of import beers has improved since I was first in the store and is now pretty good, although sometimes the prices are a little high (until you compare with some of the domestic micros they have). Looks like a good selection of wine, but I'm not an oenophile. The only problem is that I have to waddle all the way to the back of the store to get the cheapest licka - King Cobra $1.99! read more

For the most part this place is fine. But we recently had a rude cashier that kind of ruined the place for us. I had my ID but my husband forgot his wallet. We didn't think much of it because in all the time we've been shopping there, no one has ever asked both of us for ID's. My husband usually pays and I've never been asked to show mine (even when I put beer on the counter). Now, I know they are supposed to ask for both of our ID's, so I'm not angry that she wouldn't sell to us. I am annoyed that she treated us was like we were a couple of shady obviously underage kids trying to get away with something. We're very obviously not underage (as she could at least tell by my ID) and we made an honest mistake - all she had to do was kindly tell us that without both ID's she couldn't sell and that she was sorry, but instead she was huffy and brash. read more

Every time I go in I am blown away by the helpful staff and amazing selection. I will not shop at any store that is not warm, friendly and clean - Wilbur's every mark dead on. It is the only place I will use a public restroom - it's that female clean and bright. Saw the review about dirty - was that person confused? Never seen such a clean bright comfortably colored Liquor store. I have moved around a lot and even in California I didn't see this selection of wines, great prices and nice people. Great job girls and guys at Wilbur's. P.S. What's the deal about an ID - I'm dense and blond, but even I get the No ID, no service to anyone in the group "unless it's a child of the parent shopping" sign posted right in front of me when I walk in. Not recommended - very poor service. Their selection and size is great - but their cashiers are extremely UN-informed, rude and ridiculous to be honest. While purchasing wine, I was asked for both my ID and my wife's ID. My wife at no point held, handled or carried the alcohol. The cashier said she would not sell to me (the person with ID and whom was paying) because my wife didn't have her ID with her. We then asked if we could JUST purchase the pint glasses we also wanted (no alcohol) - we were refused then as well. Yes there's a college campus very close - yes people try to buy alcohol that are not of age - but if you verify the ID of the person purchasing the alcohol why does anything else matter? To note - we're both 30+ years of age and frequent the shopping center where this store is located. We'll never go back again. Completely ridiculous... read more

Wilbur's does have a large, albeit overpriced selection of alcohol. However, I think some of the employees need a lesson in customer service. This weekend I walked in the store with a friend who was there to buy some Monster and Xing Mango Ice Tea. When we got to the register we were informed that I had to show my ID so that my friend could buy his non-alcoholic beverages. That's right, my friend's ID was not good enough to buy his non-alcholic drinks they wanted my ID as well. When I told them I had left my wallet in my truck a half mile away the clerk snatched the Monster and Mango tea off the counter and held it away like a mother scolding a petulant child for not sharing their toys. When I questioned their policy of needing to show MY ID so that someone else could buy non-alcoholic drinks another clerk replied snarlingly "that's what makes us Wilburs!". After a brief moment of puzzling at the intelligence of this statement I replied "noooo, that's what makes you retarded". My buddy then walked next door to Whole Foods and bought his drinks for 40% less than at Wilbur's. read more

These guys are great! The staff is helpful and they really know their stuff. I have a friend who is based in Lyon, France and is a true gourmet cook. He visited Wilbur's when in he was here for meetings and now he and the staff at Wilbur's are in constant contact. He couldn't get over how knowledgeable the staff were when it came to good Califonia wines. I've had to go over there several times to pick up stuff for him even after I reorged out of his division. They have an excellent selection in their whiskey, (now you're talking!), department. Overall a great experience. read more

Even though Wilbur's is one of those huge warehouse style liquor stores, I always feel like I am walking into a small neighborhood store every time I go there. The employees are really nice and knowledgeable; they are always available to help you find whatever you are looking for and give great suggestions on wine. The selection of beer and wine is also AMAZING! They have all of the local beers, a huge variety of imports, and wine from about every region you can think of (including a large variety of Colorado and organic wines). I just discovered the mix and match six-packs (which also gives you a ton of beers to choose from) which is a great way to try new beers without having to commit to a whole pack. Plus, if you ever want your wine chilled fast, they have a wine chiller up front (look for the rubber duckies going around in circles). I also suggest getting a Wilbur's card. It costs nothing, but you get member-only discounts and can earn points to get coupons. read more

I always have a great experience at Wilbur's. Someone is always on hand to help me with my selections (extensive inventory!). Also, I've seen on many occasions the owner making a point to connect with the customers and greet them. Something I especially love is the lack of wait time I have when checking out. Speedy & friendly! I've heard some people grumble about being asked for their ID, but I just see it as responsible business practice. Plus, it makes me feel good!! LOL. I live in Fort Collins and attend many charity events in the community. Wilbur's is frequently featured as a sponsor and it makes me feel good to see this local business support its community. This place is the bomb! An excellent selection of liquor of all types. I don't know about the prices on "fine wines" as described by Brian W. below, as I won't spend more than $20 a bottle, but the wines which are under $20 are excellent prices. They are often a couple of dollars less then DaveCo in Thornton and other liquor stores. To find the best deals, "like" their Facebook page and see the weekly sales. Better yet, sign up for their emailing list and learn about email exclusive deals. They often have excellent manufacturer rebates in the store and the customer service regarding rebates could not be better. You don't have to go around and hunt little tags on your own from the bottles- they will give them to you, and an extra copy of your receipt right at checkout! If you purchase regular price wines and buy 12+ bottles, you get a 10% discount. I love that you can buy most all their beers by the bottle and make up your own 6-pack. It's a great way to try new brews! I've had wonderful customer service when looking for a very specific type of liquor. The employee with whom I spoke, looked all over and asked other employees. When we couldn't find what I wanted, I explained the other ingredients in the cocktail I was making (syrup from candied Budda's Hand fruit) and suggested a wonderful vodka (bison grass) that had the elements for which I was looking. read more
