Our trip to Wild Bear Tubing was definitely one of the highlights of our Smoky Mountains visit. We arrived just a few minutes prior to our scheduled departure and checked in. The shop has a lot to offer in regard to things that you may want/need for your trip such as necklaces to attach your shades to, dry bags, sunglasses, etc. They employ a lot of young people/teenagers, and those individuals helped us to get our life jackets, tubes, safety training and launching us into the river. It's a self-guided tour. No staff members accompany you, but they tell you to stay left at the fork and if you go under the overpass, you've gone too far. With this being our first tubing experience, we were a bit nervous. We ordered the XL tubes (unnecessary) as well as the cooler tube (also unnecessary). The majority of the route is shaded from the sun, and I believe I would've been okay taking one full reusable water bottle. We rarely accessed our cooler and after floating in the river, we didn't really want to snack...even with the use of hand sanitizer. We saw horses, a beaver and a turtle during our float. The water level seemed to be a bit low, with us needing to lift our bottoms to avoid contact with rocks. It was slow-moving and relaxing, but I'd love to return and experience it when the water level is a bit higher. At the end, we loaded onto a waiting shuttle bus and went back to base. Their changing rooms and bathrooms were clean and very convenient. The only thing that could've made them better were showers! We changed out of our wet swimsuits/trunks and freshened up as best as we could. We spoke with the owner briefly, who told us how her sons (the best in the world, she says) built that place for her. Upstairs are 3 apartment units. She was really nice. I also overheard her praising her team for the good work they'd been doing this season, and her hopes that the weather and crowds continues as they have for the remainder (I was in the restroom). I would definitely suggest this as a reprieve from the Summer heat if visiting the area any time soon! read more

We had a group of 20- reservations were easy to make and they were ready for us when we arrived. Their tubes are quality and comfortable to float in. They have mesh bottoms so if you have kids they won't fall through. They have cooler tubes you can rent to keep your beverages cold. The river is clean and very gentle so it's suitable for all ages. Their facilities are nice and offer handy items you may need for the day for purchase. They have bathrooms and changing rooms that are clean as well. read more

BEST tube's I have ever used!!!! Took 3 kids 13,11, 9. They git to swim outside of the tube a lot. It was a sell-out day for the company, but we were never crowded on the river, almost felt like we had the whole thing to ourselves. read more

I purchased tickets the night before, drove an hour and a half with my kids and when I got there, there was no parking, once I was able to park we went inside where the employees were rude. I was told that there weren't enough tubes for our party of 5 so I would be refunded the money for the tickets. I asked if we could wait, the answer was just no. Once we got in the car to leave I checked my account and there was a pending credit. Monday morning I checked to see if the credit had posted to find that it had not. I called the bank to see ask about the transaction, I was told that Wild Bear had canceled the credit. We ended up going to River Rat tubing in Townsend TN instead. They were great, ample parking, outstanding customer service and more than enough tubes for people to use. I wouldn't recommend Wild Bear Tubing to anyone if asked, I would direct them to River Rat. read more

We had a great time tubing here. We had 14 people and were able to make our reservation online in advance. Helpful staff peaceful float. There are a couple spots along river that you may hear some cars but it's very minimal. There are also a couple spots where it gets more shallow and you have to shimmy along to get past the rocks. We were able to stop and hang out along the way in the water for awhile. At the end there is a rope all of the way across the river so you know exactly where to get off you go under it and then pull yourself to the left bank where a staff member is waiting to help you. We would definitely go again if we are in the area. read more

No clear direction as to the process of getting checked in, getting life jackets, watching safety video. We stood around a lot and waited for help. We were given and I quote, "This is the best we got right now", tubes that didn't hold air well and they gave us 2 tubes without bottom netting. The traffic on both sides of the river makes it a little less peaceful than most rivers you float. Not a lot of pull off areas for swimming or picnicking either. I was scrolling through YELP for ideas for a birthday dinner for a friend when the app asked me to leave a review here. I had such a blast here earlier this summer that I had to spend a little time to say that I cannot recommend it enough! The staff was really helpful and friendly and the float was the perfect length as well as being fairly priced. If I had started a little earlier in the day I probably would have asked them to go again! Plus the vibe is really cool with the refurbished original barns beams still visible inside and I love what they've done with the property. Next time you are in Pigeon Forge during the season stop in and cool off for a couple hours. I know I'm definitely going back! We really enjoyed our Tube ride. Tje place was well run. It was clean, staff was friendly. We did hit a lot of traffic due to the Jeep Invasion. The water level was cold, but not bad at all. The water level was, but we got hung up a few places. average. So, if in a rush, you may want to go on a day the water level is a bit higher. We got hung up a few points. But overall a great day and a nice tubing ride with a bus ride back to the car. read more
