I have bought my bird feeders, baths, seeds, suet, gifts, and so much more from this bird store for 20 years. Kevin is such a great person and manager. Customer service people are so knowledgeable and helpful. I tried feed from another store one time but my birds did not like it. This store has healthy seeds, suet's, bark butter, hummingbird nectar and feeders, etc So many variety's of feeders, birdbaths, and more. I'm not so much a fan of franchises of any kind. But this Wild Birds Unlimited, and they are franchise stores, looks like a neighborhood store, walks top notch service like a neighborhood store, and has really friendly (and wild bird expert) owners who live in the community. Therefore, although a franchise, it IS a neighborhood store. (You know... the looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck parallel. :-) ) We used to shop here regularly for quality birdseed and whatever "feed the wild birds doo dah" we were looking for and always left happy. But we've stopped feeding wild birds (that is a domestic dispute story you do NOT want to hear) and so we don't go into this store very often anymore. Only when we are looking for a gift for the friends and family who are (still wisely) feeding birds. And today was one of those stop in days. As always, we walked out with just what we were looking for. And as always, the owners were there helping the shoppers (lots of them today - good news) who also all seemed to be leaving happy and with just what they were looking for. And just for my two bits, bird seed, bird feeders, bird baths, garden accessories, bird centric cards and books and gifts and friendly people aside, I think one of the coolest things about this store is that they have a nice bird feeder set up outside the store, which is in a outdoor shopping mall complex. Even in that asphalt wasteland of parking lot, the birds come to be nourished by the seed in the bird feeder. Which goes to show that the people who own this store are smarter and bigger hearted than my spouse. (But as I said, this bird feeding dispute is one you do NOT want to hear about. ;-)) In the meantime, if you're in Bend and have questions about local wild bird populations and need to find the right feeding and shelter options for them, this neighborhood store is a good place to go! read more

Love these little finds!! So... randomly on my outing while visiting Bend, I decided to pop my head in this place, thinking it might actually have birds. Nope, but what a treat nonetheless. Surprisingly enough, this place is very reasonably priced -at least with the gifts. I didn't have an opportunity to compare wild bird feed and supplies. Will update again when I know more. Staff seemed very pleasant!! They have 2 levels of earrings: 1) is less expensive with adequate materials BUT great artistic qualities!! -great for something to go to Mom from a little one. 2) a more higher quality materials. Would be great for Mom coming from an older child (these ones are around $20 and WELL worth it!) Another little gem are the hand-done "coiled ribbon" bird cards!! ! Easily a one stop shop. I like that. Love that! Will definitely be back before I leave to get my mom's gifts! read more

Super high quality seed and suet. With a wide array of options my go-to is the "no mess" variety - it's exactly what it says and is 100% edible. The feeders, poles and baffles are also a really nice quality. It's difficult to go in and not get distracted. It's not unusual to impulse buy things that I don't need, so I've started using the online ordering system which also tracks your rewards. The owners are genuinely nice people and this trickles down to the mannerisms of the staff. Everyone is really kind, knowledgeable and helpful. It feels good to be a patron of this business and our birds like it, too. read more

The store no longer honors the lifetime warranty on their 'Wildbirds' products. If you insist lifetime really means lifetime they cooperate then ban you from shopping there in the future. Unbelievable! read more

My wife wanted a bird feeder for her birthday so I Google-d it and Wild Birds Unlimited popped up quick. I took some time during my lunch hour to check things out. I was quickly greeted by a very nice woman who answered all my questions since my wife and I know nothing about birding. Her advice was expert and spot on. She also offered to gift wrap the feeder I picked out and since I'm a first timer I was given a gift bag with extra food and some coupons for later. Very good experience coming into this shop. My in-laws are big into birding too and I'll make sure they know about it if they don't already. read more

My wife is the wild bird person in our family, so I can't pretend to know anything about the subject of birds. But I do know about top quality customer service and about people who know their product lines, and the people at Wild Birds Unlimited rate an 11 out of 10 in both categories! You simply won't find people who are friendlier or more knowledgeable. And as the other reviewer said, I just love the fact that they have a bird feeder out front, to the delight of the neighborhood birds in this big parking lot! It's a small store, but it has a lot of wonderful products, and it's very inviting and comfortable. Highly recommended! read more

OK, so I have to admit that I feel at least mildly pretentious walking into this store after knowing what the pricing is like, but I couldn't help buying a big, burled birdhouse for my mother for close to $70, either. Paying $70 for a birdhouse is out of character for me, and I felt the price was a little excessive, but the item was so unique and I knew my mother would love it, so I paid the money and haven't looked back. Once they had wrapped the thing in beautiful bird-covered paper, I knew I had made the right choice. I love this store's atmosphere, and that there are healthy snacks at the counter. I also love that the staff is very helpful and friendly without making me sick with excessive sugar coating. The only thing that gets me is that the prices seem a little high. I wouldn't say that the prices are outrageous, just probably 10-20% higher than I'm really comfortable with on most items. However, I would gladly visit Wild Birds Unlimited over a Wal-Mart or other such store just to have the experience and pay that extra 10%. read more
