Super accommodating and friendly staff! This place is simply amazing! If you love birds like myself then this place is for you! They have everything you need to begin or continue your hobby! The seed is fresh and they have a ton of varieties! This place offers not only food for the birdies but a perfect place to get a gift for someone or yourself! They have garden flags, little gifts, outdoor decor, puzzles, jewelry etc. My favorite products include the cylinder feeder and window feeders! It's amazing to see the birds up close! I am an avid photographer so I absolutely love sitting inside and taking photos of the birds on my feeder! The store is always clean and smells nice. They decorate during holidays and frequently have sales. One of there perks is becoming a bird member which is only $25 for the year and you'll receive 15% off all seed purchases throughout the year! If that isn't enough of an incentive they give you a gift for signing up and or renewing your membership, which by the way the free gift equals a $25 value!!!! It is AMAZING! PLUS they text you special offers randomly which helps not only get you in the store but saves you money!! After every holiday or season they have a clearance section which I love cause I always purchase gifts for next year or find something for myself! The staff goes above and beyond to help you with your purchases, educate you on everything and also help get your product to your car! The owners even have their pets come to work sometimes which the pup always comes to greet you ! If you're a dog lover like myself you are instantly happy!! They have the best atmosphere here! The outdoor area is extra special because not only can you see the products first hand, they also have a keurig maker where you can complimentary make a cup of coffee and sit on the deck and enjoy the view and the sounds of all the birdies! It's a special oasis out there! I highly recommend this store!

10/10. Went to go looking for bird feeders for the balcony and left with a STEAL! Bought one of the feeders and there was a deal that got me 2 little bags of feed, and a bunch of other goodies to start off with. They even had complimentary cookies and coffee when we came in. Now we have so many customers in our balcony!

This is the nicest bird store I have been too. It sits at the corner of a shopping mall next to some pretty woods and a artificial pond with a fountain. They have lots of feeders and bird seed for sale. Outside or inside you can watch wild birds eating from many feeders they stock along with a bunch of nut happy squirrels. They have some cool seating outside and a bench inside. Inside they have a couple of friendly cats. I wish this store was near where I live!

The puppies are a plus for her too, but sadly I'm not a fan of pet stores that sell pups. Some of the animal enclosures seem small, and sometimes dirty. This is the worst I have ever seen. She did not even wash her face, barely trimmed her nails, and decided to give a low cut without my permission. We clearly asked for a clean up and to leave her pony tail long. I paid for a full groom only to receive subpar service. Called to speak with the old owner David and was advised all he can do is apologize and bring her back tomorrow to see what could be done. As a business owner myself this is unacceptable. Body clean but face dirty and stinks. If you are going here I would suggest you watch who is cutting your furbaby or ask for credentials because clearly this person has no skilled training and I am stuck with paying for full groom only to receive 1/2 the service. Over 10 years a customer and this is what I get. If this is the changes happening with a new owner in place BEWARE because I am pretty sure she will not allow her daughter to take the hit she deserves for this.!!!

Happy vibes here!…read more This is absolutely the place to go if you loving caring for your feathered (even furry squirrel) friends. Or if you prefer to keep the squirrels at bay and cater to the birds, they've got solutions for that too! I've been patronizing this store for many years and renew my $25 membership yearly. The membership is a great option if you shop regularly as it provides a discount every time you shop. With the amount I spend annually on bird food, it pays for itself in dividends. The staff is incredibly welcoming, and have fielded my questions about dealing with annoying starlings and black birds and what to offer my songbirds with the changing seasons. I also love that they stock thoughtful gifts like jewelry, cards, books, garden flags, bird baths and other decor. At the holidays, they have packages for anyone interested in starting a new birding hobby with tips and tricks. And once (or maybe twice) a year, they offer a feeder trade in event to get new, discounted feeders. Most of my dollars here are spent on the food, which is high quality (so don't expect to pay what you would for a bag of filler at Lowe's or Home Depot). That also means the birds don't throw most of it on the ground looking for the "good stuff." A 20# bag lasts me quite a long time in an air-tight container. I also enjoy picking out a couple of ornaments each year from their ever-changing selection. What's most valuable to me about WBU is that they have allowed me to spend more time outside in our backyard with my daughter, who at under 2 years, can already identify a cardinal, Carolina bluebird, finch, titmouse, chickadee, wren, sparrow and, yes, even a dreaded starling! The staff knows their stuff and they clearly love what they do!

(Review based on the bird department)…read more This place was absolutely FANTASTIC! I'm not a bird owner, just a person who likes to hang out with feathered friends every once in a while. The staff for the bird section was absolutely wonderful and answered all the questions we had. It's very important to consider that THESE ARE LIVING BEINGS. Treat them with respect, handle with care, etc. If you choose to handle the birds, there IS a possibility of you getting bit, clawed, pooped on, etc. and it's NOT anywhere close to zero. I advise being especially careful with the macaws, who bite HARD. They have very strong beaks, muscles, and claws that can easily punch holes in skin and scratch. Even the smaller birds are quite nippy, but aren't as likely to break skin (though they certainly do sometimes). Most of the nipping and biting can be attributed to affection, but is just as likely to cause infection (a fun play on words, but still true!). If you don't know how to handle birds, do not go in expecting to come out a professional, or go in with the expectation of all of the birds immediately loving you. These birds see upwards of hundreds of people a day and likely have no idea what to expect from you. I recommend talking with the employees, who I can't guarantee are all as nice as the people we talked to, but likely know the birds at least a little bit, and can help children and people wanting to interact in a safer way than just involving without caution.

I should have listened to the reviews and looked for another store…read more I have been looking for a parrot to bring into the family for a while. I've done plenty of research online, but this was my first time going to look at birds in person. Seeing this was a family run business, I decided to bring my business here rather than a big box store. Big mistake. Almost everyone working seemed to be stuck up teenagers and young adults. My family was in the store for about 30 min and not a single employee offered any assistance. Not even a simple hello. The bird section was absolute chaos. There's TONS of birds jammed into a small corner of the store which seems to be, by far, their most popular animal. The aisles are cramped and it's hard to hear anything with all the birds chirping away. There were 2 employees feeding/ tending to birds. They were pretty much ignoring everyone. I tried to ask a few questions about different species, yet I felt like an annoyance to them.. then I simply got told, if you're new to birds, just get a cockatiel. The guy wouldn't really give any information on any of the other species. I'm trying to make sure I have everything I need in my home before buying a bird, but it seems like they'd rather you just pay $$ now and quit bothering them. There's a bunch of signs up saying NO PICTURES everywhere. It felt like a prison with the wide variety of threatening signs all over the place. I did notice the cages seemed very over priced. An A&E cage I saw on Chewy for $300 was marked up to like $700 in there. The cockatiels were a couple hundred dollars more than Pet Smart. I wanted to avoid going to somewhere like Pet Smart or Petco to get a pet bird, but after this experience, I'll just take my business there. At least they have employees that seem like they care about helping customers. It's a shame to see a local business that can't provide better service than corporate big box stores. If it wasn't for your exorbitant prices, I suspect you'd be out of business by now.

I'm returning to Sissy's bird colony today to adopt a few more beautiful birds. Her environment is clean, professional, experienced, and birds are healthy. The people who leave false bad reviews because you don't know how to care for birds are awful. There are many factors involved with caring for birds from vitamins, environmental air, water, temperature, attention and what you feed them. It's most likely not the breeder who had caused your birds disorders; it's what's going into and around the birds. Sissy is professional and experienced with many birds, and would never cause issues to birds. Like I said, I'm a returning customer and if the birds and Sissy weren't fantastic, then I'd be going to Petsmart instead of driving 55 miles. I hesitated to write this and postponed it for three years, using the time to educate myself and connect with avian specialists and researchers. The fabulous macaw which we adore and purchased from Sissy has an incurable condition called Avian Ganglioneuritis which is passed vertically through the egg. Lilly (Sissy) denied responsibility even though I made clear I have no requests from her part and the only reason I contacted her was to inform her so she can test the breeding pair and save future owners from going through this ordeal. We all need to come forward in order to stop the spread of this horrible virus that will eventually result into a painful death of our most beloved feathered family member.
