Overall food was great, seasoning is on point, quality of crawfish is great along with sweet blue crab, only issue is the oysters were dry and it looks like it was shucked and left out to dry a bit, smaller size but for $12, it was ok. Service was fine just don't ask the gal that is behind the counter for help, I asked for a extra cup when she delivered the food and gave me the biggest stare and bad look. Almost like an annoyance look. Maybe I should of waited for my male server but based on the timing, I wouldn't have gotten my cup. She could of helped with a better attitude. We had a group of 4 dine on a Monday night. The wait was not nearly as long as Crawfish Cafe and the pricing was average. $6.99 for garlic butter crawfish and $7.99 for Wild Cajun style. The garlic butter seasoning wasn't as flavorful as the crawfish I've had at Crawfish Cafe. The atmosphere was a bit dark and dirty. However, we got excellent service from Houng. She even tried to find the channel for the basketball game for us. The fried okra was breaded well. The raw Gulf oysters were average, nothing spectacular. The grilled oysters were bland and the breadcrumbs or whatever they placed on the oysters were also undercooked. Where does one start?! Upon driving up into the parking lot you can automatically tell this place was going to be superb! The parking lot was packed with cars and it was approximately 8:12 from what I recall. The menu is moderately priced and what really blew me away was that they also sell sushi too! The place is HUGE in the inside. With a long bar that wraps around with the sushi bar you'll never need to wait for a seat. From what I see this place is going to do great. The walls up top are all hand painted with a beautiful ocean line. And, the seating is plenty! Many huge tables for big parties and many small tables for you couples! They serve anything from sushi to king snow crab legs. They also have your fried rice, turkey neck, snow crab, crispy seafood platter and ice cold refreshments! There is an endless amount of other things they serve this is just a select few. I went there with one thing in mind! CRAWFISH AND SNOW CRAB! But, they didn't have any snow crab so I settled with 17lbs of crawfish. Not to myself LOL. I had a helping hand or two. Our crawfish came out with a big metal bowl up top and as we revealed our crawfish a cloud of steam formed up towards the ceiling. Instantly you could smell the garlic/butter and cajun spices! ONE WORD! YUMMY!!! And, I have never been to any place in Houston that had such big crawfish! These things were huge and with the pictures I will attach you can see for yourself. What makes me enjoy this spot even more is the vast menu, sometimes a big menu means you aren't good at anything so you gotta make a bunch of junk but not here. Our group started out with the giant live oysters. Delicious. Next, was the crawfish, we went with the garlic flavor. Now this place does it right. The boil is full of flavor and also topped off with more flavor and you can ask for extra garlic butter sauce to dip in it. It's the holy triad of sauces. I added in an order of sweet potato fries and sausage and you got yourself an excellent meal. Not what I remembered from years ago. I decided to give it a chance even though this place had a lower rating. It was very underwhelming and a waste of money. The basket of fried mushrooms were left behind. The rice was an oil slick in my mouth but had flavor i guess. I'd have to say this is one of my favorite places to go for crawfish whenever I'm in Houston. Sure, there's hundreds (literally) other crawfish places in houston...some that are pretty good but have ridiculous waits (*ahem* BC i'm looking at you) and some that are just really expensive and not so great. This place has the perfect balance of delicious, quality food without the wait (or price tag!) associated with it. I've been here on multiple occasions with friends and everyone has agreed this is the place to go. Crawfish and seafood in general here is 2-3 dollars PER POUND cheaper than the other "more popular" crawfish places, so that in itself saves some money. Add in a friendly waitstaff, clean location, great selection of other seafood (king crabs, snow crabs, blue crabs, oysters, shrimp, etc.) and you've got yourself a winner. Go with the wild cajun sauce...as the garlic sauce is very "meh". Wild cajun has a nice blend of spices with onions and whatnot. Not super powerful spicy or anything, but great flavoring nonetheless. Apparently they were doing something outside in the city so they shut down the water in the restaurant in the sink. The restaurant inside was ok, could be cleaner or better decorations. The crawfish wasn't in season so it was frozen but they were at least big crawfish. The garlic that was in their sauce, I didn't even taste the garlicky goodness like I do at Boiling Crab. They made their entire joint look like another Boiling Crab, but they haven't mastered their sauce. Where is the garlicky goodness and where's the spice? I ordered another 2 pound and asked the girl to make it super spicy and she brought it over and said if it is not spicy...let her know. Aside from that, the flavors were good but I've had better. The onions & scallions do give it that oomph, but as far as freshness goes, there were some that wasn't. Eating it from the bag definitely keeps it hot. We even burned our fingers grabbing a few towards the bottom of the bag! - Cajun Combo (3/5): This entree included 2 fried catfish, 4 fried shrimps, 3 fried oysters, fries & toasts. I love their fried catfish! They are always battered perfectly & super moist. The fried shrimps were big & juicy. The fried oysters were big but not fresh at all.. I don't feel that I had 2lbs unless all of the garlic and onions were weighed. In my opinion it was about a little over a pound. The sizes were medium and small mix with a few large here and there. The flavor was good and they were juicy. The Turkey neck was bomb! The garlic butter over the Turkey neck was a win. The service sucked. I came for the $4.99 special on crawfish. I originally heard about this place because a friend worked here but this was my first time. I got two pounds of the garlic butter flavor. It was delicious! The flavor was strong and permeated into the meaty parts and not just the shell. The waitress came by often. The tables were set up community style in the middle and booths on the sides of the walls. This is my new favorite crawfish joint!! I make a trip here at least once a week. They beat all their competitors prices by a dollar less per lb. The interior is very casual but spacious. They can seat a lot of people at once. I like that I never really have to wait long even when its with a big group. They leave the condiments on each tables so you can use as much as you want. They also have an outdoor patio with quite a few tables and some games on the side of the restaurant by the restrooms. I don't just come to Wild Cajun just for the crawfish.
