Not sure what happened. The quality of the food and has really gone down since my last visit. We dropped in for a late lunch, party of 2. We ordered: Hong Kong milk tea - good, no complaint Chicken wings - arrived after our entrees. It looks delicious but was bland, really lacking flavor and undercooked. Uni pasta - I loved it the last time I had it. This time, not so much. The noodles were still al dente but the sauce was too thick and sea urchin was overcooked. I didn't really get to enjoy this dish! Sizzling Steak - we asked for the sauce on the side. But the dish was not sizzling and the plate wasn't even hot. Went for dinner. The restaurant was quiet and not too busy. We weren't feeling super hungry so we opted to just split an appetizer and entree. The servers checked in on us frequently. The restaurant is cute and clean. The calamari ended up being a lot more than we expected. It was only okay, slightly crispy but also a bit dry. The variety of sauces was a nice touch. The also got the satay beef udon, which was a dry pasta dish. This was comfort food in a nutshell, something not particularly spectacular but still tasty. It had a good portion of meat and the noodles were nice and chewy. Probably should have tried some of their other more popular dishes or come in more hungry. I stopped by for lunch on a weekday and it was fairly empty/ not busy! As it was just me, I only ordered one meal so I can't speak for anything else besides the sliced beef udon. The menu was quite expansive but cohesive with Italian/ Asian fusion. I got seated and immediately was given a menu and cold water in a stainless steel cup. I ordered the sliced beef udon soup version (there's also an option for stirfy) but granted, today was cloudy and slightly windy so it called for soup. After placing my order, I was given the proper utensils and shortly after, a large piping bowl was placed in front of me! Flavor was good and the sliced beef was addicting.. the portion was a bit much for lunch to me so I had to ask for togo and the waitress came out and put it away for me in a custom togo bag that sealed so that was fun to leave with. The waitress was certainly very tentative and made sure other guests had their waters filled at all times so I'd love to come back to try out their other menu items like their omurice or their lobster creamy rice. So I finally came here on a Sunday for lunch where there were no other customers. Parking can be a hit or a miss as it gets pretty packed in this parking lot. It's clean inside with a nice aesthetic. Sake steamed clams - must try! Love it and worth it. If you don't like clams then what are you doing? Clams were perfectly steamed in sake. Don't worry for those who are allergic to sake. You won't turn red as the alcohol evaporated during the steam. Sea urchin pasta - good at first but then got boring after about 3 bites. Uni was a bit overcooked and rarely any in it. Seafood Fra Daivolo - more tasteful and worth it compare to their uni pasta, in my opinion. Has no kick but each bite has it's flavor. Plus it comes with seafood. No Asian fusion here. Basically just an Italian pasta. Overall, not sure if I would come back. Maybe for their sake steamed clams. That was the highlight of my lunch. Pasta was enough to feed one person so I don't feel like it's worth the money unless you want to stay in Chinatown and craving for pasta. The menu posted outside caught our eyes so we were enticed to try the food... The service was not good. Not particularly terrible, but not good. The servers barely said a word to us and we had to ask for everything. We asked for water, chopsticks, spoons, napkins, plates because nothing was prepped or provided before hand. The servers did not anticipate any of our needs and didn't really seem to care about our dining experience until we flagged them down for hair in our food. As soon as we let them know, they leapt into action, suddenly checking on us every couple minutes. They comped the Beef satay Udon and brought us a new plate to make up for the hair found on the first plate. We also ordered the Pork Katsu, Seafood Food Fa Diavolo, and New England Clam Chowder. On the plus side, the portions were relatively big while being very affordable. In this way, the restaurant offers great value and is also great for family style. As for the flavor, our favorite had to be the Seafood Fra Diavolo, it was absolutely delicious! The other dishes were not bad. They were generally okay. Overall, we won't be back. The best dish was the Sea-urchin Uni Pasta because it was so creamy and tasty. The next best dish would be the lobster roll and the lobster tasted really fresh! This restaurant is quite expensive since most of the dish has seafood in them, but the portion of each dish is a lot so you can definitely share them or eat family-style. Came here during lunch where Bellaire gets less chaotic so parking was easily accessible. It was busy at all. The service was passive. It wasn't busy and the server wasn't really attentive. I had to call him over a few times for refills and to order. The food itself wasn't bad. I would say my favorite was the CB mussels which were light in flavor (in a good way). I had the kimchi beef slice udon and uni pasta for entrees and it was good (but not amazing). The uni pasta was not strong in uni flavor at all but was definitely creamy. You taste more of the pink sauce which is good for those who don't like a strong uni flavor. The kimchi udon was on a sweeter side surprisingly. I definitely will come back, and try recommend sea urchin noodles. I've actually been here once before during their soft opening and was disappointed in their Pancetta & Cream pasta -- three words: watery, bland, and disappointing. The noodles slipped past my fork so I had to ask for a spoon. It was so hard to eat, I should've asked for chopsticks. Then I had to ask for salt and pepper. No matter how much salt I added, it couldn't save it because the watery sauce was just unpleasant. Shrimp Scampi -- it was basically boiled shrimp with noodles rolled in chili powder and barely hints of garlic. Uni Pasta -- I saw many complaints about it being watery. Gave it a chance, and I guess they improved it because it was the only pasta that was edible. Lobster Bisque & Sweet Potato Fries -- the soup was bland, but a little salt and pepper helped. We also got the lobster roll which was also very fresh and delicious on top of the brioche bun. The fried chicken texture was Delicious, on par with any other fried chicken restaurant. The staff were very kind as well. We came here on my birthday for dinner. They told us they didn't do anything special for bdays, however they still ended up playing the birthday song and surprising me with a fantastic yuzu cheese cake. He was extremely patient, double-checked everything to make sure it was correct, and also took the time to answer our questions about the lobster promotion in detail. At first, he looked a bit cold, but once he started talking, he was actually very kind and easy to chat with, which made the whole experience feel very comfortable. I liked it but I felt like there wasn't that much going on for it to be worth it to get again. The lobster creamy rice has a lobster tail shell as decoration but all of the meat is mixed in with the creamy rice. I thought this dish was just ok as well. The creamy rice was whatever.
