Lunch on a whim....was in the area, popped in. Spot is clean, service was decent, perhaps I'll try the boil next time. I ordered a poke bowl for the first time; classic, ingredients were definitely fresh, presentation on point, just isn't for me. Also tried a bubble tea for the first time, won't be doing that again. My daughter had the seafood boil and said it was great. Bae ordered fried shrimp, it wasn't fresh shrimp, appeared To be Pre frozen disappointing. 1/3 was happy with lunch! Place isn't cheap so i was bummed I didn't enjoy my food, you win some you lose some lol.

I wanted some seafood boil for my birthday and this place did not disappoint. You get a lot for your money, and the sauce was actually spicy! I just wish the add ons weren't so expensive. Other than that the crawfish, calamari, muscles, and shrimp were fresh much better than hook and reel. My husband had the seafood fried rice, it was delicious you can tell they made it with their sticky rice and it wasn't oily. I will be ordering from here again.

Picked up my first order today. I got a poke bowl salad with an added bubble tea. I love that they offer a $2 add on bubble tea if you order poke. They have ginger carrot dressing, spicy salmon and seasoned hard boiled egg as toppings for the poke bowl, which I haven't seen at other places. I enjoyed it. For the bubble tea I ordered the rose milk tea, which is what I normally order from other places if they have it. It was great and the boba was chewy and not hard. The lady who took my order was friendly too. Look forward to trying other boba flavors as well as the seafood boil! Btw their logo is hilarious. Love it.

This was my first time ordering here. My first time eating a poke bowl. We also ordered a seafood boil (snow crabs. Scallops and calamari in a garlic butter sauce). WOW! Everything was delicious. The crab meat was so full of flavor. I didnt get a picture of the seafood boil cause it smelled so good we went to town on it. My husband also enjoyed his poke bowl. Very pleased with our food. This is definitely our new favorite spot.

Also, saw the cook drop our paper order for a poke bowl on the floor and he took off his glove before picking it up.

Known for what many consider some of NYC's best gumbo, Filé also serves fried catfish, jambalaya, char-grilled oysters, beignets, and an extensive cocktail selection. On my most recent visit, we arrived at 3 p.m. and ordered from the prix-fixe lunch menu. An added bonus was being able to take advantage of happy-hour pricing on drinks and appetizers--a great combination that made an already appealing lunch even better. Filé Gumbo Bar opened its doors in Tribeca in 2022, bringing a distinctly Louisiana sensibility to downtown Manhattan. The restaurant showcases Cajun and Creole classics prepared right at the bar, built around slow-cooked, flavor-packed roux and a choice of proteins. The gumbo is simmered and finished in a steam kettle, making the cooking process part of the dining experience. I usually take a seat at the bar, where I can watch the chefs work their magic at the restaurant's intricate custom steam-kettle cooking station. Individual bowls of gumbo and jambalaya are cooked and finished right in front of you. There's something almost theatrical about watching the process as the aromas of roux, sausage, seafood, and spices fill the room. The décor reinforces the New Orleans connection without becoming kitschy. Mustard-yellow leather banquettes, stamped-tin ceilings, and whitewashed brick walls create a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of Southern charm. Even the bread has a Louisiana connection: it is shipped directly from Leidenheimer Baking Company, the legendary New Orleans bakery whose French bread is a local institution. For anyone missing the Crescent City--or simply looking for a memorable taste of Louisiana in Manhattan--Filé Gumbo Bar is well worth a visit.

Looking for chargrilled oysters on nyc is hard but come here if you want them. Best I've had in nyc ever!!!! They have a good happy hour and that is what would pull me to come I. For drinks and oysters. I tried the restaurant week menu and had the gumbo. I do appreciate that my shrimp and crab gumbo was crab heavy but wasn't a fan of the shrimp, it was good otherwise. My friend ordered the blackened swordfish and was told there was no more( we got there at 5:30) so they gave catfish instead. The caramel cornbread was tooo sweet and the caramel was burnt so I didn't eat it. I got to watch then make the gumbo since I sat at the bar and it was semi entertaining.
