I walked up to the bakery counter to order some goodies to take home. I'm visiting the area and love trying out new local bakeries and shops. I was met at the bakery window by two young girls. Both not wearing masks but ordering me to step back 5 ft. I looked behind me and there was indeed a rope where customers can look at the bakery window from 5 ft away. When I asked why I had to step back so far when there was already a glass wall between us, they said it had nothing to do with COVID, but keeping the children from touching the glass. Since it was almost closing, the place was empty and I was an adult I ask if I could look quickly, close up, because I couldn't see from that far away. They insisted I must move back immediately. I wonder if the owners know what kind of employees are running their business. It was a shame...I left and will not be back! read more

We stopped at the Wild Crumb while staying in Bozeman en route to Yellowstone. This is a top notch bakery with excellent bread and breakfast items. We had the egg sandwich and got ham and cheese croissants to go for lunch while hiking in the mountains. Everything here was excellent. Masks were required and people in line were respectful of distancing. This is a great spot to grab breakfast and pick up bread or lunch items for your outdoor activities in the area! read more

Wild Crumb in Bozeman is my granddaughter's favorite place to eat. The turkey club is her favorite and I too enjoy the fresh baked baguette that the sandwich comes on. But...Lordy the desserts are worth the drive people! The SLAB of coconut cake screams "pick me"! "Pick me"! So I did and I I'll say that it never has to scream again because my nose knows a damn good coconut cake when it's within 6 blocks. The blueberry scones are tender and perrr fect! They are big enough to share with another person unless you are a little greedy about sharing desserts as I am. Ain't no shame here. I bought brioche bread loaves too! I literally carried what felt like 10 pounds of pastries on a plane back to my state. I had to freeze a few items for another few weeks and I must say they still tasted yummy after thawing. The place has a line out the door each time I've been lucky enough to stop over there but the gals have it down to a science so it moves along at a good clip. I'm from the Deep South so I like a friendly face and a warm thank you and these ladies provided that too. The place is perfect to sit and eat while checking out the locals and the obvious not locals that are seated around you. So there ya have it folks. If you like pastries, pie, cakes and other homemade goodies and you are in Bozeman, MT stop on over and load up cause you ain't gonna be able to pick just one little ol' muffin. We spent the week visiting my mom in Bozeman and one of the places to take us at the top of her list, was Wild Crumb and it's easy to see why! We stopped by for a Sourdough Walnut Gorgonzola loaf and it was amazing! I don't love walnuts in bread, but I'm willing to make an exception here! We visited this bakery while visiting Montana and I'm so glad we did! When we arrived there was a line out the door so we knew it must live up to its reviews! The line moved quickly and even towards closing time, there were plenty of options. They offer a nice savory and sweet variety as well as options for those with dietary restrictions. I tried the chocolate chip cookie, French onion croissant, and baguette. All were so delicious! The staff were really friendly too! WOW. What a wonderful bakery!! You just don't find bakeries like this often. It is a gem!! I love that it is located in a neighborhood surrounded by homes, bikes parked outside, lovely outdoor patio. The inside decor is rustic with adorable heart shaped cushions on all the chairs. My heart is full. It was soo hard to choose from all the fantastic goodies that I decided to fill a box. The almond croissant is fantastic. My man loved his egg sandwich on homemade english muffin. Beautiful loaves of artisan breads. Had the turkey sandwich on baguette (YAS), lemon tart (decent), grapefruit juice (bae). Was surprised though that they don't serve espresso drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, espresso, etc). If there ever was a place worthy of 5 stars its here in Bozeman and it's called Wild Crumb. First, you have to love the name - it gives you a sneak peak into what's to come on the inside like one of their scrumptious cinnamon buns or almond croissants.... yes you will lick the crumbs from your fingers and off the plates (warmed by the way) because it's all that good!!! Second, be prepared to be indecisive - yes the place is filled with that many treats! Do I go with the scones, muffins, pecan rolls? What about a loaf of jalapeño cheddar for later or a fudge brownie with walnuts (heaven) or chocolate covered macaroons? And the berry pies or the chocolate pie but the cookies!! See what I mean? Take comfort in not having to choose and get it all, or as I did come back a second time in the same day for an ice coffee (amazing) and Wild Crumb cookie. And if you're heading on a road trip - the sandwiches to go travel well. Eggplant and veggies on sourdough or turkey with cheese will make your trip!
