It's now 5+ years since my first review and Sidewall has, if anything, improved. You won't find a better pizza anywhere. Ok, Grimaldi's in Brooklyn is better, but we're talking Montana now. I order takeout and while I don't know his name, the guy in the takeout area always recognizes me and greets me by name. Great place. Next to local art galleries. Nice ambiance with local art on the walls and big windows. I had the mushroom pizza and it was delicious. Garlic sauce. Cheese. Lots of mushrooms. Crust is perfect...not too thick, not too thin, crisp in places and soft in others. My waitress Sara/Sarah was great. Friendly and attentive but not obtrusive. My teenage son and I were in town for a bobcat playoff football game. Once we arrived, he immediately said "I want pizza".. Thinking back to some of the run of the mill stuff I had when I was in college here I was thinking to myself "good luck"! But then he said "what about sidewall? I had never heard of the place before but we went. Very cool vibe inside being in an old school building! The pizza was amazing. We both loved it. I love mushrooms on a pizza so the pizza with "all the mushrooms" on it with a white sauce was amazing. You can see the staff hand tossing the crusts while you wait and the love they put into the crust was definitely evident in the taste and the crunch. Will be back when I'm in town again! read more

Sidewall Pizza was good. They have indoor and outdoor seating and they also serve beer. You can only sit outside if you are dining in. Our waitress Piper was attentive and kind. We had the pepperoni pizza with the breadsticks. The breadstick sauce was not good. It tasted like tomato puree and not like marinara. The ranch tastes good but it was very watery. The breadsticks were good but nothing over the top. We felt the same about the pizza. The pizza was good but nothing that makes me want to go back. It was very greasy which I understand is from the pepperoni. The crust was really delicious but underneath it was a little soggy. I wish it was a little bit thicker to withhold the toppings. Their pizzas are thin crust, and in order to get an accurate pic, you go simple and order the Pizza Margherita. Here, this pizza gets a solid top notch rating. Crust, delicious. BEST GLUTEN FREE CRUST! I have tried 1000 GF crusts and I like a lot of them for different reasons whilst some don't make the mark. This crust is the first GF I've ever had that was FLUFFY!! As I didn't get to visit this place in person, I can't say anything about their location, parking, and ambiance. My family had taken our orders and picked up and brought it home for us to eat. I was able to try out their breadsticks and the Antipasto which both were quite tasty. I was super happy with the flavors of the antipasto. I didn't get a chance to eat the hot hawaiian nor the protein, but I did get bits of the meat that were spilled as folks took the pizza. They were delicious and meaty. I just wished everything had a bit more toppings and a crispier middle but the outside of the pizza was quite crisp. As a local pizza shop, it's definitely a great one to try out and support. But do beware, it does get busy so it may take some time to get your order. I would call in or order ahead if you want to not wait so long. read more

Yum so good!!! We stopped by and I was super glad we called ahead because the wait at 4:30p was 50m for a to go order. The pizza was delicious - crust was perfectly crisp and the tomato sauce flavorful. Everything seemed freshly made. A bit on the pricier side for the area but definitely worth it. They had a cute courtyard but unfortunately is only for dine in which was a bit of a bummer. Seems like it would be super cute on a cooler day but seems like you can mainly only choose between getting pizza fast or waiting and having a nice ambience. I get that things happen but this was shitty and I didn't even eat the food. Made reservations for 6:30 online the day before. Day of I get the usual texts for confirming and reminder that the reservation is half an hour out. Im there at 6:18, gather my things and start walking in and get a call with a weird caller ID (RED CAP LTD) I answered warily and no one was on the other line so I hung up. My phone buzzed and I see i got a text but dont look bc im headed in and dont want to be rude. I am greeted by a crapily hand written note that they are closing early tonight. I then see a waitress who just goes 'yeah were closing early...' and I responded that i had a reservation at 6:30. She leads me tk the front desk where a young guy was and he goes well you should have gotten a call or a text. I open my phone and at 6:20 I got the text they were closing early.......... the two of them just kinda scoff and go yeah. So anyway there is no professionalism or care for their guests. Won't be going back anytime soon bc who wants to be treated that way before even getting seated. Highly recommend going to Ted's Montana Grill. Yup! Sidewall is my go-to for a fancy to-go pie. They're not the best for dine in, but a fan fav in my house for a pizza night. Their crust is sturdy enough to carry all their incredible and fresh toppings and they typically bake to perfection. Overall they're a great choice for both a standard-issue pie or something a bit fancier. The only thing to be aware of is that they typically have a long wait so call in advance or when you don't mind the wait. Can be nice to take a stroll through the Emerson and look at the art exhibits while you wait (usually what I do!). read more

Great find in downtown Bozeman. We wandered the main street and were a little disappointed with the offerings, then drove by this quaint spot and decided to try it. We sat outside under a huge tree as the sun set. It was very peaceful, neighborhood feel. We received great service, had a delicious salad and a hearty veggie pizza for dinner. Do not order your pizza ahead and expect to eat inside or outside of this restaurant. If you call ahead, it's considered take out, and you can't use their tables. Not negotiable. In my state, if you call ahead, you are still allowed to eat at the establishment. Apparently, in Montana, they don't allow this. I've been here 15 minutes and I'm not impressed. We ate on the grass with our blanket. The tables sat empty. I guess they saved us a tip. The pizza wasn't bad. Solid 7/10. read more

Loved the patio seating! Not super crowded and had decent spacing with cute lights. The garlic bread was good. Could use a little more garlic but the bread was fluffy and soft. And really warm and hot. Pizza was good. The protein was yummy and loved the flavor. We got the goddess which originally has pesto but had to get red sauce. Had their meatball pizza and spicy Italian calzone with a Greek Salad (we tore into the calzone and salad before first before taking pics; so the serving size is double what is shown for the calzone). The location is super cool. I think it's in an old school and it was a unique space. They allow you to do half and half pizzas even if they're specialty. This was pretty nice considering we wanted vastly different pizzas. We got the Earth Day pizza (pictured) and the Buffalo chicken pizza. Both were delicious! I knew I was in for a delicious meal after my first bite of the breadsticks. Normally a very unassuming appetizer that feels more like discard scraps than a thoughtful dish, these breadsticks showcased their dough which was maybe, dare I say, the best pizza dough I've ever had? Chewy yet soft, slightly crusty and also fluffy, topped with a blend of dried herbs that brought real flavor, not just an aesthetic. The crushed tomato dipping sauce had that sweet, acidic tang of ripe, in-season tomato and was a million lightyears better than marinara dipping sauce. We had ventured out to Sidewall in the midst of a two day snow storm and wanted something cozy and familiar, so the Little Pepperoni pie was just the ticket. Tiny pools of oil in crispy up-turned cups of pepperoni on a layer of basic mozzarella and their not-so-basic crust. Perfect. Service was friendly, attentive, and casual despite also juggling a giant table that came in just before the kitchen closed and, to top it off, Sidewall occupies one corner of a very cool historic building that primarily functions as an Arts & Culture center and there was super neat art vending machine outside of it which I just loved. Tl;dr, I can firmly attest that, even in the midst of a two day snow storm, Sidewall is worth a visit. read more
