I'm hanging on to the hope that my 4 stars will not have to be updated as the scales of bar justice can only tip downward hence forth. Perhaps I have a false sense of self - but I'm a freakin great customer - I spend hundreds of dollars a month on eating, drinking and making Merry at the midcoast Maine bars - y'all business owners better take notice of me and respect the badge, my writing power and my posse - cause I'll turn you out if I must. And when beady eyes behind the bar set upon me, they're not saying"welcome back valued customer" they're saying "it's him again" the concentric circles, the common center must not be broken with new faces and new money - Be the region between the two concentric circles - I think it's called annulus, be that, not an assulus. The folks at the bar are quite the opposite, they're friendly and engaging- one guy was dancing to live music, caulking around the AC while drinking drafts and discussing Him Morrison with me as I sat alone in a dark corner. This is what Irish bars are - just gotta inform the barmaid- only one, the other is quite nice - and the big guy - I'm betting a shit of Jamison that he's the owner- always running around the back, cooking up great meals - try his Steak and Cheese, the twelve inch pizza which beady eye called "fourteen" - duh - is $9.00 and big guys got a heavy topping hand, smothering that pie with the pepperoni that does that high heat trigger shaped twist - like a tulip pedal holding the little droplets of oil inside.

The bartender said we could order food even though it was really slow and the band had stopped playing. We ordered cheese steaks sandwiches. We asked what came with the sandwiches and we were told tater tots. It took almost 40 minutes to get our food. We had to wait about 5 minutes for the ketchup and there were no tater tots. We got a bag of chips and were told they were out of the tater tots and French fries. No respectable Irish bar would not be able to serve fries or some form of potato with a meal. The bar had about 10 people in the bar and they were all pretty drunk. It is not a fun pub but a place with some sad drunks.

Plenty of space and ample lighting as well! My personal favorite on the menu is their pizza! It's very good and quality ingredients. It is certainly made with love. You can certainly tell. We were not sure about the ordering process, and after a few minutes started trying to find the pub website and look for a menu. Eventually a menu was brought to our table, and we put in an order for beer. Turns out, half of the items on the menu were not available. When we did figure out an order, more items were made not available. We settled on a NY style pizza. We did not get the toppings we ordered. Good news: the crust was very good, and worth another try! Even the leftovers were delicious the next day - not all pizza can do that. They do not know how to pour a Guinness - which is too bad, because that is a favorite beer of ours. We switched to another tap and had a local red. The tap selection is decent. The place has a very casual atmosphere, and many locals come and go and seem to have great conversation and know each other's business. Overall, a place with great potential, especially for regulars. Hopefully, another visit will be more successful for exploring the menu which sounds good.

Everything was aesthetically pleasing but I did find the muscles overly sauced with a little too much salt for my palette. The lobster flatbread was fine but nothing spectacular since the flatbread was not made there. Lobster meat and corn were sporadically covering the bread. Very good for a shared appetizer. Raviolis were great but since they were stuffed with peas and to have them with pea sauce is a little bit too much but again it was tasty. The scallop dish was on the pricey side for just three large scallops with pea sauce. Apparently they use their homegrown peas in the garden which is organically good. Crab cakes were delicious. There's a little band playing in the pub on Sunday nights. Good place to go to eat after checking in the hotel.
