I LOVE WILD FORK! I was an online customer before they put this store in Mission Viejo. Their meat is SO good! And, the employees at this store are super helpful and friendly. There are so many different options, and just about everything I've tried has been delicious! My favorites so far are the thick cut black angus New York strip steaks and the black angus picanha. I also want to give a shout out to all the negative reviewers who left 1-star reviews because everything in the store is frozen. Umm...Wild Fork blatantly advertises that everything is frozen, so to leave a negative review based on that is not cool. That's like leaving a negative review for In-n-Out because they don't serve chicken - it's not what they do! Yes, everything they have is frozen, but if you try it, it's also delicious! That's part of their competitive advantage- they've developed a process to blast freeze everything to keep all the taste and nutrients in, which allows them to be much more efficient and lose less product to spoilage, which in turn allows them to sell better quality meats at lower prices than their competitors. It is NOT the same as buying frozen meat from your local grocery store. In summary, Wild Fork is a welcome addition to the Mission Viejo community. I ordered 2 pounds of lobster meat for my mother's birthday. When I ordered it asked me to pick my delivery date. I picked last Saturday in order to have it fresh for my family get together on Sunday. I got a notice Saturday evening that my order would NOT be delivered on Saturday and would now come on Monday. IT gets much worse....The box shows up Monday at 6:30pm. It must have just sat in a warehouse all weekend as the box and the lobster meat was literally hot to the touch. There was no ice, nothing to keep the lobster meat cold, and no styrofoam cooler or anything that would suggest it was shipped correctly. I called wild fork Saturday evening and got no response. I finally got ahold of some one Monday after I received the "HOT" lobster and she told me to take pictures and email them to her. I did so and this is an excerpt from her response. "Thank you for your feedback. We will promise to make this escalate so this kind of issue will not occur by the next time you order" HUH??? Really??? 08/22/2022 Update: They did give me a refund. I first experienced Wild Fork with an online order and then found they had an outlet nearby. I refer to it as carnivore heaven, however, there is any and every type of beef, pork, chicken, seafood and exotic meats and seafood. I have purchased chicken breasts, pork chops, skirt steaks, ground round, white wurst and have found them to be superior quality. Every one has been more flavorful and tender than anything I have purchased in a grocery store for some time. I see people are put off by the fact that the meat is frozen but I assure you the process they use does not impair the quality. I am updating my review cause I am now sold on this place. First off I did have something terrible from here but it was not their brand but instead a third party frozen hamburger brand that sells this thing called a Prime Rib Burger, that was nasty. but everything else I have recently bought and tried from Wild Fork has been really really really good. The Hanger Steak I got twice was really really good. Then I tried all the sausages, incredible sausage for the price especially the hot Italian ones that are like $2.49 a pack. I think the key is that since Wild Fork is Brazilian owned, they use non-American recipes and that means more fat and less lean meat in Sausage. You all know what I mean, those lean sausages from Sprouts and Whole Foods are so dry and unflavorful. Then I just had the frozen free range beef lasagne. I am proclaiming best lasagne ever. However, I would be cautious of anything not vacuum packed. Had to throw away shrimp and two bags of chicken thighs as the freezer burn was tremendous. This new concept of freezer fresh will be a hit in Newport Beach. I've only tried two of the many dishes they provide. I just found out about this place and it looks like right now they are just in South County. I was pleasantly surprised to find some of my favorite cuts of meat specifically the Skirt steak untrimmed Which is really hard to find and the mini Argentine chorizos. I bought a few bags of seafood as well and some frozen veggie bags along with a small New York cheesecake. I found some pre-seasoned chicken and cooked that first. It was two breast of chicken that we were able to split between four people. It was really tasty. Looking forward to the Huntington Beach Store opening up soon. Totally new type of shopping for me as everything is protein and frozen. I think I really liked it and I feel like the store is going to do really well as long as it keeps selling the items that I think most South Americans would be looking for. Lots of Brazilian cuts as well and pork and lamb too. The price was relatively acceptable and I hope that they just don't start overcharging. On my first trip to Wild Ford, my wife and I purchased sweet Italian sausage, ground ostrich, ground bison, boneless pork loins, bison hot dogs and a frozen pizza. The sweet Italian sausage was absolutely horrible. It smelled like pig shit. I ended up throwing it out because I couldn't stand the smell and wasn't about to eat it. I had a similar problem with Italian sausage that I purchased at an Italian market in Costa Mesa a few years ago. Apparently, whoever made the sausage used casing (pig intestine) that had not been properly cleaned or the pig was too old when it was slaughtered. The ground ostrich was good. The ground bison was much better than the ground bison I had been buying at the grocery store. It tasted more like beef than the grocery store bison. The pork loins we had were moist and tender but the taste could have been better. Pork has always been a gamble no matter where I buy it. Sometimes, pork from a grocery store is awesome and sometimes it's gamey. It's always a gamble. The frozen pizza was very good. We have yet to try the bison hot dogs. read more

If you order a prime brisket from Snake River Farms for $150 bucks, it shows up on your door step frozen. For those unaware SNF is one of the premier meat providers for the completion bbq circuit. I have never taken the time to review anything in my life, this is the first time. I am a chef. My gym at the time was right across the street from wild fork on la paz and aliso creek in mission viejo, I watched them build it. I went in there one day after they opened . I never buy frozen meats of any kind but I was looking at their beef back ribs and they looked really good, so I decided to purchase them at around $63.00. Cooked them that night. Within 45 minutes I had a very bad case of e-coli bacteria. Not bad enough to go to hospital but2 days of misery if you know what I mean. I lost about 7lbs. I went back in store to. brought remaining meat with me thinking the manager would want to send them back to corporate and have them checked out because I was concerned about other people possibly getting sick. He was very dismissive and condescending, In fact he insulted my intelligence by telling me he had the same meat the same night and he didn't get sick. Now what are the chances of that? I got my money back, but very bad experience overall. I am just glad I wasn't cooking for someone else. I could of sued them but I am not that kind of person. My main concern was other people. I called their corporate offices 3 times and was told they were very concerned and promised a call back but they never even called. That's why I am taking the time out to write this review. We have been here a few times and have picked up Prime Brisket, Bison Rib Eyes, Elk, Venison, Pork Ribs, Alligator, and Truffle Brats. The truffle brats are amazing! The last time I was in to pick up a brisket they recommended the FOGO Lump Charcoal they sell. I was really impressed with the quality of the charcoal. Second time ordering online from Wild Fork. The first order, a picanha and two tri-tips was just OK, nothing great, and certainly not better quality or cheaper than Costco. My second order was two prime steaks and one prime roast. After ordering I noticed the pending charge on my Amex was $130 more than my total order but I figured it'll reconcile when the order ships. When I received my order, only the steaks were included and no roast. No notification, email, nothing was explained why my order was short. I called Wild Fork customer service but gave up after waiting 40 minutes and hearing "there are 39 callers ahead of you" over and over. I sent a message via their website and never received a reply. I put a hold on the Amex charge which was later reduced to just the cost of the two steaks. Again no explanation or email for this. Based on this, I have no plans to ever purchase from Wild Fork again. read more
