So delicious. I saw the wonton tacos on yelp and thought yup I'd like those. They were delicious, packed with lots of chicken and flavor. I would have loved a bit of slaw with it like a purple cabbage slaw. Through some Wasabi on them for an extra kick. The brown sugar Boba tea was so good, it had a distinct molasses flavor. The ambiance of this place is amazing. The service is pretty good too, but the food is not. The chicken wontons were the best thing we had but it needed something fresh. The sauce on the ribs was good but the texture of the ribs was off putting. It tasted like the meat was old. The spicy garlic chicken tasted more like an Indian curry than a Thai dish. There was no garlic flavor at all, just spice. The Mongolian chicken was cold when we received it and it was overcooked. The hakka noodles were ok, but nothing I would come back for. The strawberry lemonade was amazing! Overall, this place looks nice, but the food doesn't match. I think this place and the Indian restaurant next door share the same kitchen and that's probably why the food did not have that authentic Thai flavor. read more

Place needs more care & attention. Paint peeling off the walls, my booth was dusty, everything just looked dirty even the floors. Waiter didn't write anything down so my drink was forgotten. This is our 4th visit to the Wild Ginger, the staff/service is the best, friendly and fast, and the food..... This place must be voted the number one restaurant in Pooler. We had a party of seven, family in from Martha's Vineyard, and they said that the food was outstanding. We all shared the spring rolls, ribs, and the tacos, all were very good, the Manchow soup, although quite spicy, it was awesome. We had the Mongolian Beef, the Lamb dish that's actually is an appetizer but a huge portion, in fact three of us had it, and one had one of the noodle dishes with shrimp. The place is not very big, so you get a very nice feeling when you are eating. A couple of the guys remembered us and me being a veteran giving us a discount. We will continue to eat at the Wild Ginger because it is sooooo well worth the drive to get the quality and consistency other establishments don't or can't match. The food was great here! Based on the reviews I wouldn't have come here. Glad I decided to anyway. Celebrated a friends birthday here. I got here early evening. Glad I did because this place gets crowded during the dinner rush. The Thai fried rice was amazing! I love all of the spice. It's a pan Asian restaurant so I love the twist of the menu options. Wow what a great meal. Three of us went for lunch on 10/09 and husbands birthday. It was sooo good. Never a dull moment when I walk through those doors with my lady to eat at what we have called "Our Restaurant." So we really have a set list of things we eat from here and yes we have tried multiple things from the menu, but our go to is the following: To drink we get the Cardamom sensation, for our appetizers/main meal, we go for 2 orders of the chicken wonton tacos (because who can just share 3 between 2 people) and the 5 spice ginger lamb/beef with a side of white rice. I also order either street hakka noodles or the Thai style fried rice. In this case I ordered the chicken fried rice. As always the ambiance is great, nearby customers are also quiet or engaged in conversation that doesn't disrupt the enjoyment of the food and misoc being played, and the service is always good. I definitely recommend them if your in the mood for some indo-asian food. read more

This is just Indian styled Chinese food. They add curry into everything and it smelled like an Indian place when you walk in because of the curry they use. The service was mediocre and I wouldn't come back here if it was my only meal to eat on earth. Their fried rice is not actual fried rice . It's long grain Indian rice with veggies. read more

Stopped in here after leaving the Indian place next-door, which didn't have the items listed on the menu or website. I was surprised to be greeted by Indian people running this Asian restaurant. It made more sense when I went to the bathroom and noticed that they are both interconnected. Anyway, the restaurant is cute. Nice little vibe and the staff was courteous. I ordered vegetarian Singapore noodles. The waiter asked me if I wanted them spicy and I said medium spice. When they came out, there was no spice at all and they didn't even taste like Singapore noodles. The only similarities were that they were thin noodles and there were some vegetables in the dish. People in these negative reviews are really inconsistent and unintelligent. If you don't want spicy food, don't go to an Asian restaurant, go to some basic restaurant that doesn't have any spice of flavor in their food. Secondly, you're not a chef food critic in a magazine. I highly doubt you know what the items on the menu are supposed to taste like more than the actual business owners. At the end of the day people are cynical, and yelp gives them the impression and the platform that their opinions are more significant than the actual business. And it affects a businesses reputation. I understand if the food was actually bad or the service was bad. But it looks like people just want to complain. Wild Ginger, keep doing your thing being authentic and serving great food. The people in the negative comments are the reason it's so hard to run a successful business. I ordered take out from Wild Ginger Monday night. We order the Drunken noodles, DanDan noodles and Drums from Heaven. The drunken noodles were very sweet. It lacked any balance of salty/sweet if that's what they were trying to achieve. the wings overall had a decent flavor but were drenched in a chunky sauce that had different types of peppers cooked within it. Perhaps if I ate them fresh it would have been better. The DanDan noodles were the decent dish but again had an overly sweet flavor, less than the drunken noodles but I've never had this dish with any kind of sweetness added to it. As far as service, the order was ready when I came to pick it up and the cashier was nice. The restaurant is in a strip mall nut has an elevated vibe to it. I don't think I'll be back as it seems all the shows may have this same sweetness and I prefer a more authentic flavor. read more

The place looks upscale. We ordered Indo-Chinese fried rice (vegetables version) and Singapore Street Noodles. The fried rice definitely did not have enough vegetables and was primarily a dish of rice and spice. While tasted fine, it was not served and made like a main dish should be, meaning there were not enough ingredients. It could work as a side disk, but on the menu this is supposed to be a main dish. The Singapore Street Noodles tasted fine too. Both were rather pricey for what was offered: noodles at $14 and rice at $12. I'd say that at a lower-class Chinese American takeout place, you could have a tastier version of both dishes for quite a bit less money. To sum up: food tastes fine, but some were not made to be main dishes even though they are supposed to be, and the price does not match the quality and taste that it ought to be. read more

I had written this place off as just another fast food Chinese restaurant that we have in Pooler. It was nice to have orange chicken that was NOT. chicken nuggets with a bottle sauce. It did lack some garnish (green onions) and I like a little spicy with sweetness. I was impressed with the Drunk Noodles!! Great flavor and great ingredients. We have been to Wild Ginger in Pooler 3 times. Each time the food was delicious we have enjoyed their wonton tacos, curry, Street, Rice noodles, and kimchi rice and kung pao chicken. I love both curries with shrimp and my husband's favorite is the kimchi rice with pork! Their custom cocktails like the lemongrass margarita are also very good very. It all started with the food, what I ordered did not please me as I expected. When I told them I did not want it they gave me a weird attitude that I knew was off. Instead of apologizing and being for the customer they seemed to not care. I was constantly started at and mugged and laughed at by the employees. My daughter and I went today during our outings. We both enjoy Asian cuisine and we'd never had indo-Chinese before. It's located and I assume owned by the same people who own NAAN Appetite. (Just speculation) I'll first comment on the service which was outstanding! The wait staff went above and beyond and kept checking to make sure we had everything we could need or want. They weren't very busy at the time (it was about 1pm) so I'm sure that made it much easier on them. The portions were a very good size. We ordered two brown sugar boba teas which were suuuper yummy and absolutely adorable. I would have liked the boba to soak a smidge longer as there were some that were a little too chilly. For sure not a deal-breaker as it was tasty. We split an order of wonton tacos which were deliciously crunch! They were packed well with filling. I probably could have ordered 3 orders of them. I ordered the braised beef ribs with pineapple rice. The beef was nicely tender and were boneless (kind of a first) and had a nice flavor. They also brought out a small container of BBQ sauce, but I felt didn't need it as it was just what I believe to be regular BBQ sauce. The pineapple fried rice was a letdown. It was definitely not "fried" and had next to no flavor other than the chunks of pineapple in it. My daughter ordered the kimchi fried rice (also, not fried‍) with pork and topped with a fried egg. She said it was flavorful, but was disappointed that the fried egg was cooked hard. Typically a fried egg topped rice still has a runny yolk to break over the rice. Nonetheless, yummy experience with great staff. Just know, it is a indo-Asian fusion more than an American-Asian fusion. We will be returning to try all the other yummy-looking stuff! read more

This is not a typical Chinese food restaurant if you are looking for Chinese food. The sweet and sour chicken, and the kung pao chicken were both swimming in sauce (more sauce than food). The chicken and snow pea was spicy, and should not be a spicy dish; and the portions are also small for the price. We usually look forward to leftover Chinese food, but this is a one and done for us. read more
