I've worked blocks away from this place since they opened and knew they had outstanding reviews but only first came here with my wife a few years ago. It is now our favorite local place to unwind with a few libations, some games and usually an enormous, delicious pretzel. The staff is next-level friendly, and it rubs off on the customers, most of which are regulars. They host so many events and always keep the menu exciting. Plus they have an awesome dog-friendly patio! Love this place. The only negative thing I'd say is that the roar of the customers against the hard-surfaced walls and ceiling can really get overwhelming at times, but whatever. Not usually a big deal. Just hit the patio if it's too noisy inside. Definitely check out the place if you haven't yet. read more

I came in on a Saturday afternoon for a beer. They have a good selection; I chose a new hazy IPA. There is an adjacent coffee bar in case that is more your speed than a beer. There was a lot of seating inside and placards on most of the tables inside saying that these are laptop-free tables. They are trying to promote being social and having a conversation. I think the tables outside didn't have these placards so that's your option if you must be on your laptop. The beer was good and the service at the bar was just ok. Had a very lovely experience yesterday at the Wild Parrot Brewing Company for the Pup Culture Rescue event on the patio. The Brewery has a large parking lot however it gets full pretty quickly, if you get lucky you can also find some parking in the neighborhood street adjacent, or there is street parking for 2 hours on the main street. Yesterday was a pretty packed day, the main back patio with umbrellas was packed with people as there was an artist doing doggy portraits on that side. The back patio is disconnected from the brewery so you have to walk back and forth if you want to refill. I would say that side is more in the sun, so even with umbrellas it's a bit hotter on that side. The brewery is pretty cool inside, they have two separate bars to order from, one is the Beer bar, and one is the coffee/tea/ other things bar. I tried their Shibuya rice lager which was ice cold and very refreshing for a hot day. Our group also ordered the Really big pretzel, and Nachos which were pretty delicious. Finally, there is the front patio which faces the main street, and was fully in the shade. It is quite small with about 4 tables, but the sidewalk has quite a bit of foot traffic, and this is where we were able to set up camp with the fosters to mingle and meet with people who wanted to meet the doggies. When a breeze goes by, it is so refreshing and it's pretty nice on that front patio! I love that Wild Parrot Brewing company is dog friendly and the staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Girl scout cookie flight day! Excellent service by Austin and Chelsea, they gave samples of beer so I can select a beer that matches my tastes. I say go with the cactus kooler if you want something sweet and fruity. That's my favorite here serious best brewery in Pasadena! This is a cool local brewery that I finally got to check off my list after hearing about them a few years ago. They're located in Colorado Blvd but a few miles east of all the bars and restaurants where people usually think of when there hear Pasadena so there's a good amount of free street parking nearby. I will start with a very important thing that must be said... the staff here are AWESOME! They were welcoming, kind and super helpful with having us decide on what beer to start the evening with. There is plenty of seating space for indoor and outdoor; being that they serve food (yes, they have a kitchen with limited options of food but hey, sometimes you want some nachos with your beer...) no dogs are allowed indoors but they are welcome in their outdoor patio. I should also say that since they do have a kitchen, outside food is not allowed so please either eat before hand or just order from the taproom since no one wants to have beer on an empty stomach. Some food options I saw on their menu aside from the nachos: pulled pork sliders, chicken quesadillas and even a spinach artichoke dip that would have been great to share. They also have cookies! I was grateful that the staff was super chill and allowed me to have a few tastings before deciding on their Golden Glow IPA. I will say that all the ones I was able to sample were delicious so trust.. it was tough to pick one so that's why I ended up going for a second and getting their hazy too. Don't like beer? don't worry.. they also have some wine and cider available. All in all, didn't have too much trouble finding parking, they're dog friend and have tasty beers.. First time visiting Wild Parrot and we had a great experience! The taproom staff was super nice and helpful right from the start. They offered us samples and answered all of our questions before we decided what to order, which I really appreciated. The space itself is a good size, though it feels a little more like a restaurant than a brewery. Personally, I think it would be awesome if they added some couches or lounge style seating along the wall to give it more of a cozy, chill vibe. As for the beer, so good! I had the Hazy IPA and my husband tried the Howdy Cutie Pilsner, and both did not disappoint. We enjoyed the Hazy so much we ended up grabbing a 4-pack to take home. We also ordered the chicken nachos, which were a solid portion, with flavorful chicken that wasn't dry. Super tasty! One thing to note: you can't bring outside food. Our friends brought some not realizing, but the staff was incredibly kind about it, letting them know the rule for next time but still allowing them to eat their food that day. Really thoughtful and accommodating. They also have a patio area in the back parking lot that's perfect if you want to bring your pups along, which is a nice touch. This location is some what hidden on Colorado Blvd. Its next to the tanning salon. This is also shared with a coffee shop. There are a lot of tables and lounging area inside and two gender neutral restrooms. Parking is located in the back or street parking and it is free. The staff is extremely friendly and was very attentive. I enjoyed my time and found two alcoholic beverages that I actually enjoyed! They have some tables top games for guests to play. The only downside is that there are some tables that aren't that very well lit. They have some power strips if you wanted to work remotely with some wifi. The chairs are not that comfortable, so be prepared to get a numbed butt. They have weekly, and monthly events. Trivia every Tuesday night and a puzzle night every 3rd Wednesday of each month. For the puzzle night, there is a fee to participate and often get filled up fast. The fee comes with 2 drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are included. Their pretzel is a very decent size and we'll worth the price and their food selections are wide. The kitchen closes at 8pm, so order early! It's even a perfect place for parents who want to enjoy a beer while their kids have space to hang out. I've stopped by with the intention of having just one beer and ended up staying three hours (and three beers) later, simply because I was enjoying myself--even if it's just me and a book. I tried the guava sour and really enjoyed it..refreshing and just the right amount of tart. We also had their tacos, which were tasty but came with a lot of cilantro (if you're cilantro-averse, definitely mention it when ordering). We went around noon and it was pretty crowded, but the atmosphere was still relaxed and welcoming. One of the best parts? There's a small covered outdoor area in the back lot with tables and chairs, so you can comfortably hang out with your pup. I love their beers and love their vibe..... but sad about the food. Tonight I tried nachos for the 1st time with pork NO ONE expects anything on nachos to be ice cold.. straight out the fridge!! Nachos plate was large colorful but were flavorless ... cold squiggles of I think some sort of queso (had little to no flavor), cold pico de gallo. Went here for trivia night with coworkers. The sliders were good but the guacamole was not as good as it seemed it could've been served from a packet instead of homemade. I almost bought a tee shirt as I really liked one of the designs (the one with the sunsetting and silhouetted parrots on the telephone wire) as I was looking for a Pasadena parrot type souvenir. Love this place. They always have a great sour or IPA on tap, and they are so yummy it's hard to only order one. I've gone here with friends in the evening for drinks, for gift exchanges, for myself on mother's day in the early afternoon, and a quick meetup with friends in the afternoon, and even brought my kids. Nice spot at the Eastern (quieter) end of Colorado Blvd. Stopped in for a few beers with our dog -- and easily found a spot on their back patio in the parking lot. Wasn't too busy on a recent Sunday afternoon. As for the beer we LOVED the clementine/cranberry SOUR which was among the best sours I've ever had. (They rotate them -- but always have a sour on hand). $8.00 for a 12 oz. pour (not sure why only 12 ounces as the alcohol content is a normal 5.3%). Maybe it's more expensive to produce? There is also a coffee shop inside as well as a restaurant. All family friendly. Service was good -- you order at the bar and bring your beer to wherever you are sitting. A nice neighborhood spot and they say they are the new kid on the block -- so I hope locals support them. read more
