Great vibes and easy seating, convenient parking. The brewery is conveniently located near LA Historic, and parking is easy around those streets, with lots of free parking all around. I went on a Sunday evening around 6pm and had no problem finding parking nearby. The streets are not that busy unless there's an event. There's a QR code at the lineup, and the menu has some good stuff. The HPB burger was good, although not particularly impressive, it was definitely a solid choice. The kale salad on the menu was good, and had goji berries, which I did not expect on a brewery menu. Their pretzel was delicious, and served warm and soft/chewy. Highly recommend their nitro stout. Parking is local, street, ride-share, carpool and metro (LA Metro city style + LADOT DASH, a bit of a stroll from Highland Park Station). Lovely extended patio area with nice beer and a surprisingly delicious burger. Their HPB Burger (10) is delicious. It's a smash style burger that's perfectly seasoned and textured. The cheese is fried and savory and the spicy ketchup goes well with it. There was some thought that went into this burger that I appreciate especially since breweries can get away with lazy patties and buns. My general philosophy is that $10 burgers should always come with a side. That would have made this meal perfect for taste and value. Parking is easy and staff is friendly. Like other reviews say, it's a literal daycare. I love kids but they shouldn't be at a bar and the parents bringing them here should be ashamed, it looks so tacky trying to party in public with your toddlers running around. Also beware there's a recently pregnant woman who is there with her children sometimes (seen her twice) who will grill you for smoking *outside* the bar, not even in the vicinity (no smoking allowed which is fine). My friend kept going up up to getting drinks on my card. She was attended quickly. Once I was ready to close my tab I went up to the bar. I understand other ppl need to be serviced before me, but when the person that got to the bar before me, after she puts in her order, she gets asked again if she needed service by another yuppie hipster bartender. It took this lady to point out that I was there waiting. I really felt uneasy and unwanted at this place. If you're white I could see how this place would be 5 stars. Recently moved from Boston so I decided to look for some breweries in the area with good New England style IPA. Maybe I'm just spoiled from all the amazing beers like Trillium and Tree House but IPAs here definitely lacked the depth and flavor of true New England beers. But that's just me being spoiled from tasting amazing beers so frequently. Objectively speaking, their IPAs are not bad. Definitely above average and much better than what you normally find in stores. The whole set up here is really kind of weird and just a bit confusing. Highland Park uses a bar to sell their beers. A place called The Hermosillo sells their beer and the bartenders work for The Hermosillo. The only person that said they worked for HPB was the guy that fills the growlers, and there wasn't much to choose from, so he just stood there and wiped the dust off the growlers. There wasn't much else for him to do, as there was no good beer (IMO) available to fill. The beer selection was not good when I visited. No Ultra Cloud on tap or any juicy IPA worth while for that matter. This place is ultra hard to get to and the parking is a complete nightmare. Tiny little parking spots. Maybe they should call their next beer "Ultra Hard Parking Mess". If you have a half way decent car, you wouldn't want to drive it here, because when you return it will probably be door dinged to death. I tried Space Embracer and was very underwhelmed. I was hungry so I decided to order the pork belly tacos . The pork was shredded and not pieces of pork belly like the menu stated. The pork was also on the dry side. I was very hungry, otherwise I would have sent them back and got something else. The tacos were a dry version of carnitas. Not sure I will be back this way again, can release or no can release. I will just stick with Mumford and Monkish. read more

Highland Park Brewery is a gem. Located close to various parks, Union station, and the Dodgers Stadium, it is the home of the Dodgers. They have a great dog-friendly patio and a wide variety of beers! Lots of IPAs (California is in their IPA phase), some sours, and some lighter blondes and even seltzers. I have not gotten to try their food yet, but it looks good! Ordering is done at the bar. Service-wise, it's a toss up. The first time I went, it was late, they were busy, and the bartender was kind of harsh. TOO MANY PARENTS BRINGING THIER NEWBORNS AND TODDLERS. When did it become normalized to bring your kids to breweries? It felt like a preschool sitting in the outside area. Kids running around with their scooters and bikes while parents are busy drinking and not watching their kids. Random kids on the floor walkways playing with toys while there parents are drunk. Kids almost running into the street. This pace needs to regulate this issue. Kids even run inside the bar because their parents are busy drinking. Once upon a time there was a bar called the Hermosillo. Then the owners decided to let a brewmaster with experiences at both Father's Office and Craftsman Brewery open up a brewery in a 480-square-foot room at the back of the building. And the rest is happily-ever-after history. In case you didn't follow me there, Highland Park Brewery is located INSIDE the Hermosillo. I'm not religious, but you can think of the Hermosillo as God and the Highland Park Brewery as Jesus. They are one in the same. And by the way, there sure are a lot of "holy spirits" flowing around this place... spirits as in beer! So, after much deliberation, I decided to write my review for the Highland Park Brewery rather than Hermosillo, since many of the reviews for the Hermosillo were before the brewery set up shop in the summer of 2014. In terms of beer, Highland Park Brewery keeps everything chill. You won't be finding overly hoppy beers here or pretentious club members-only beers. Moreover, their beers are more laid-back and have relatively low alcohol by volume (ABV) contents that hover around the 5 to 7% range. Among the beers that I always get is this really refreshing beer called pFriem Spaceship (4.5%), a pale ale with German Huell melon hops. The melon hops really do give off a honeydew flavor and this beer pairs amazingly well with the shishito peppers ($6) served by the Hermosillo's kitchen. Seriously, these shishito peppers served with lemongrass, ginger, and crushed peanuts are the tastiest I have ever had. Dare I say it? They are the shi-shit! Another beer that I found to be nice was the Ham Porter (5.3%), a porter made with a whole freaking ham. Sorry my vegetarian friends, but this beer is not for you. Despite being made with a whole ham, the beer is not overly smoky or hammy. Definitely unique. Highland Park Brewery's beers are always rotating due to their small brewing capacity, yet on any given night they have up to ten of their beers on tap along with six guest taps. Also, what's really cool is that their beer menu is displayed on a screen with a screen projector and when a beer runs out, they cover it up with paper. Very old-school, yet too cool for school! When I first saw the screen projector, I was overwhelmed with nostalgia and had a flashback to my high school geometry class and reminisced about cosines and tangents - shit I have yet to apply in the real world. Definitely check out Highland Park Brewery inside the Hermosillo because the beers are chilled and the atmosphere is chill. Moreover, going back to the whole "God-theme", you may see a few patrons here and there that actually look like Jesus with their hipster beards. * Want to give some mad props to Julie, the awesome beertender with the cool tattoos that made the experience even better. ** There is a metered parking lot around the corner along North Avenue 51 north of York Boulevard. read more

They always have great beers and varieties on tap. I like that you can get a smaller size 5oz to try so you can drink a few different brews and not leave bloated or feeling buyers remorse for downing full on pints of beer. Since they don't do flights, the smaller pours are a good option. The food is good too but I'd rather go across the street to the Greyhound. read more

After a few drinks and some bowling at Highland Park Bowl, we decided to come check this place out as it was nearby. I was happy to see that they have a private lot - although small but sufficient. Atmosphere and environment is typical for a brewery - a bit loud and with music. I don't think they have TVs and as far as I know they didn't offer board games as other breweries I've been to. I was really excited to try their beers and I saw some flights on Yelp. I saw $3 per taster on their menu so I was just going to get 4-5 of those and call it a day. Unfortunately, I was turned down and they told me they could only do 2 $3 tasters max which didn't make sense to me.
