In all realness, you get what you pay for. Great service, good vibes and absolute animal lovers! I go in once in a blue moon even if I work right across them. Yesterday, got out of school early and decided to pick up the pups and bring them over. We walked in, it was empty and my small dog is very noticeable since he's on the ground. As she tries to give him a treat, he's uninterested so the worker kept trying different flavors until we found a winner. As she tried to give my dog a treat she noticed my other dog in my arms and laughed since my tiny dog tried to snatch the treat meant for my dog who can walk on his own. We walked around a bit, got entertained. The cheeseburger treats apparently smells like real cheeseburger! Haha. But my dog was interested in the cod. Real friendly people, lots of luxurious dog supplies. One day I will spoil my dogs and get clothes from there but until then I will keep shopping for treats :) read more

We love Wild Pet Provisions!!! My sweet pup, Monae, and I have been going to Wild Pet Provisions since I adopted her in 2021! When I adopted my pup, she had such a hard time adjusting to the food, and allergens of the Portland area, as she is originally from Mexico. I went to get vet opinions, and we could not find a solution for her tummy. She had a scray pancreatitis flare-up and ended up in the hospital. With that, I knew I needed answers, and was able to to connect with Heather! Heather was able to address Monae's dietary needs, and we came up with a diet that fit Monae's needs. Heather literally saved Monae's life! The Wild Fam is equally amazing - Lindsey, Hoku, and Max are awesome! They made Monae and I feel like part of the wild family. Lindsey gave me frequent tips on how to work with Monae's moods, especially during the first year of Monae's adoption. So much so, if you met Monae her first year, and met her now, she is a completely different pup - confident, happy, and secure. We were pointed to WILD two years ago to get help with our pup who was having ongoing tummy troubles. We met with Heather, the owner and pet nutritionist extraordinaire. She is a font of information! Thanks to her wisdom and continued support through a variety of flare-ups our pup is thriving again. We love that we can treat the issue with good, unprocessed food and gentle supplements. All of the staff at WILD are very knowledgeable, clearly love animals, and are friendly and super helpful. One of our fav new pet stores! MY BF discovered this place a few months ago, and told me about it. We've now been a couple of times in the past month, and I have to say I'm really impressed! Great selection of food, treats, toys and doggie apparel. I was on the hunt for a sweater for our fur baby, and they had a great selection. The sweaters seemed a little pricey, so we were hesitant to purchase one initially. I wanted to investigate other stores, to see how the quality and pricing compared. We ended up going to about 5 other pet stores and even though the prices for their sweaters were a lot cheaper, the quality didn't come close to the sweaters at WILD. We ended up going back, and trying on a few of our favs (our pup, Luna, loved trying on the sweaters and rolling around on their beautiful orange couch), and settled on a festive navy sweater that fit her perfectly. Until yelp reposts my previous review I would like to recommend that you don't miss this spot in the lovely Irvington neighborhood for all of your fur baby's (babies') needs. CArefully curated food, supplements, and toys by someone who really knows their stuff. The emphasis here is on a raw diet as science says it's best to feed your dog (or cAt) a diet that approximates how they would eat in the wild. I can say for sure that when the owner of this store put our dog on a raw diet, her overall well being (and weight) improved dramatically. The place is airy, beautiful, and a labor of love. This place is great! Really good selection of dog items (I can't speak to the cat stuff). The best staff I've encountered in a pet store. They've been great answering lots of questions we've had about nutrition and different options. We first came in winter 2018 looking specifically for a dog sweater. These were upstairs in their loft where the sofa is. We were able to try on and pick out a great sweater for our little fur baby and get some incredible pictures up in that loft. The lighting up there is natural and really good, too. We'll probably be back this year for another sweater and some more glamor shots! read more

I can't say enough about the quality of service, knowledge and product at this pet store. Heather, the owner and nutritionist, a year ago recommended a liver health supplement for my 17 year old dog. Her blood work showed that she was in liver failure and her vet had said there was nothing to do and she had weeks to live. I mentioned this to Heather as I was shopping for dog food and she told me about the supplement. After a year of daily doses her numbers are just a hair over normal and she's doing fine. Heather @ Wild Pet Provisions healed our Cat through food. We feel so blessed to have found her. Our story: Jasmine, our poor cat had bouts of loose stools to explosive diarrhea, pooping outside the litterbox. Major litterbox trauma due to her bowel discomfort and issues. Over 1 1/2 years, we had seen 4 different Vet's (2 were Naturopathic Vets), 1 internal specialist and 1 Dove Lewis visit. Treated her 3 times for Clostridium Perfringens, had x-rays, ultra sounds & lab tests. Tried switching to a novel protein diet limited ingredient diet. The Vets instructed us to give her Pumpkin to firm up her stool, turns out she is "very" sensitive to pumpkin which made the problem worse (that took a while to discover.). Nothing worked. As a kitten we had tried introducing her onto a Raw diet but she would not touch raw food. Working with Heather was such an amazing process, she has a relaxed warm personality that put me at ease. Plus she has years of experience and knowledge. As a client, she assessed Jasmines history. Guided us through the process of transitioning her to a Raw food diet, with the right supplements and support. Heather is a wealth of knowledge and our "picky" eater of a cat LOVES her new diet and poops in her litterbox again!!! We now have a Happy, healthy relaxed cat, no more diarrhea after 1 1/2 years! Changing Jasmine's diet to a Raw food diet not only healed her body it healed her personality. Jasmine is no longer edgy, nippy, easy to startle & crouched up. She is relaxed, at ease and lays sprawled out now. A Raw Diet and supplements transformed her. We and Jasmine are truly grateful to have found Heather she is a lifesaver! read more

If my dog could write this review, he would give it 6 stars. Anytime we within a few blocks of this place, he wants to go inside. Give me all the treats!! They have treats that you can buy by the pound, which are a fan favorite at our house. They have lots of other treats as well! When we go inside, he always gets a treat from the workers (now it's making sense why he would give it 6 stars) all of the employees are super friendly and obviously love dogs. They have a great selection of food. Although we don't feed our dog with fresh food, they definitely have a lot of options if you do! Our three dogs and us agree, we love Wild Pet Provisions! Their staff is super friendly, responsive, and knowledgeable. We go there mainly for raw food and supplements. They were very helpful when our dog Belmont recently tore his cranial cruciate ligament, recommending the right supplements, and going well above and beyond just selling us stuff by following up over email with recommendations for physical therapists and other advice. Went in here to try to find some treats my picky cat would eat. The staffoffered lots of suggestions on what she may like, and the cashier gave me some samples too. My girl didn't like what I bought but she did like one of the samples which is practically a miracle! Got some biscuits for my friends dog, he lived them, and everything was very reasonably priced IMO. I then came in with my mom the next day to get some Natures Miracle and once again staff was very helpful, lots of suggestions on how to deter the cat and what may be causing the issue. I love this store! They are NOT your standard chain pet store. Their specialty is working with pets who have food allergies and and other dietary issues. They have healthy natural foods, organic material toys and other treats and accessories that I have not seen anywhere else. They are locally owned and operated. When my 11 year old dog Abby was diagnosed in February with diabetes, my Newport Oregon vets all recommended only the same 3 dog foods which she would not eat. It became a life and death situation and I was way beyond terrified. Abby was so weak she barely walked down the block after having walked several miles a day for many years. Plus she was too weak to climb my inside stairs. It was horrific. I had zero other people to turn to. My friend then recommended Heather. To be honest, my first thought was that it was an expensive consultation fee. I wasn't thinking straight, clearly, because my vet bills were way more than Heather's fee and my dog had about a week or two before she died of malnutrition. Completely expected that my vet's--I went to three--had such limited nutrition advice. So Heather recommended a raw food and other supplements. Abby gobbled it down and got stronger. It's not pie in the sky, though. N 4 months I've had to switch foods several times and now am cooking mostly human food to keep her eating. But I just got a good nitro home food recipe from Heather and still use same joint supplements plus psyllium for extra fiber which she recommended. Bottom line is that Heather was compassionate, gentle and extremely knowledgeable when I was desperate for someone to confirm that the vets were making me crazy with limited unhelpful nutrition advice. I'm in a whole different, greatly expanded world now with my dog's food. I learned not to be so afraid to experiment. Heather's advice seemed exotic at first. Now it's my vet's' advice that seems insane. Abby and I just trotted up 100+ stairs at Red Rocks Amphitheatre yesterday in Denver. Her glucose level is almost stabilized. I'm a different person, too. Heather saved my dog, and she also saved me. read more

It is so easy to see and feel the passion that Heather has for all of our furry beloveds. She is super knowledgable about pet nutrition and I am extremely confident with her advice. I recently went to the opening of this store and will say so far I am finally impressed with a pet store here in Portland. I have a beyond picky toy fox terrier that is too smart for his own good and will not tolerate food that does not work with his system. Literally he has had every test done and always passes for fully healthy so his pickiness does not come from illness. He has always been on a raw or Kanine professionally (slightly) cooked diet simply because he won't he kibble or canned foods. He won't even touch a lot of raw brands. It's like he knows what works for him and what doesn't. The problem is I don't know this because he refuses to speak. So I get to have a real fun time guessing through trial and error. I'm lucky he is an angel in every other way because let me tell you it can be very frustrating. Ever since moving here a year ago from Los Angeles where he was happily eating food made by a nutritionalist (Mark from The Petstraunt) that unfortunately would not send the food here....it has been a struggle to find another food. Although many of the pet stores here are great and have fantastic staffs I was really frustrated by some of their lack of variety in food choices. This store actually carries all and only high-end quality foods. They actually have some brands that he has not tried which I have purchased and I look forward to them being winners. I also plan to speak with the owner as she comes highly recommended about a diet and possibly a plan especially if the ones left to try don't pan out for my pup. I found the staff to be extremely friendly and professional. I felt that the girl we talked to was very knowledgeable and experienced. Which I need considering my situation. She even listened and offered advice to my fiancée and I for at least a half hour in the middle of them having a busy party. She gave her undivided attention to our annoying questions and long story when I am sure she had a ton more to do. Most of the time I have people telling me he is just being a brat and wants something new or another topper. Then I walk away like they think I am a lunatic about my dog. Yes I love him but I'm not that crazy codependent dog mother (like I don't roll him around in a stroller LOL!) No but for real I have tried it all and of course let him go without to test the theory that he is a brat pushing my buttons (If you think dogs actually think like that I would say that's a little closer to crazy). He has actually gotten sick if I continue to only feed him something that he is pushing away which proves his system was not in agreement. When there is a brand, rotation, or diet that works for him he will run to his bowl twice a day without question. I have been to many vets in my day and diet is just rarely an answer they can give you unless something is physically wrong which there never is. It's a unique situation that is hard for everyone to understand and still cannot figure out but when people are experienced in the craft of animal nutrition they do get it and provide answers. Again they just opened and I have yet to talk to the nutrition expert but I have faith in this store. They also have great products, gear, and toys for your pet all at reasonable prices. I would highly recommend checking this place out. I believe your furry friends will thank you! read more
