Amazing casino on the coast. Sitting at the California, Oregon border on the coast you've got amazing redwoods tall as buildings, elk and deer like exotic cars in a city, a coastline so clean and pristine . The staff in the casino are the absolute best, kind funny, attentive, always available to help or hold and sometimes fold. heidi. And rocky great to Learn from and fun to play with, plenty of mocktail choices. Only thing missing 3c card.

    Great clam chowder.

Uhhh, I'm not sure how this great casino restaurant doesn't have a much higher rating. We ordered take on 2/22 /26 and I had to jump on to leave this review. The food is fantastic. Probably the best fish and chips is the area and beyond. The clam chowder is delicious too-definitely add the bread bowl because it's huge and garlicky, yet light. Truly amazing bread. The chocolate cake is fabulous. Whoever was in the kitchen this day, great job, everything was perfect. The person who took our order was sweet and very helpful as well. Thank you to her for suggesting the bread bowl. Best suggestion ever. We've eaten here for years and hadn't been back for several years or so. It was always good, clean and friendly. Now, it's a fantastic restaurant with great food. Seems like the one star ratings were over 5 years ago. Try it now, you won't be disappointed

I used to go here two or three times a week. However the experience I had tonight was horrible from the cooks. They put no meat on the French dip. Disappointing because my husband and I love to go there

Really nice place to have your special event for a large group of people such as award banquet or business conference, etc. I really enjoyed the event that was held here at the large conference room with buffet, cash bar and apple pie deserts. There were over 200 guests, and the banquet room was well organized and attended. The foods were served with fast buffet lines and great bartenders as well as coffee pots, pie center. The hotel has ocean view, and the restaurant has very decent food and drinks! The best part is that the price for everything is so reasonable. It's because the casino and hotel are both owned by Tolowa Indian Tribe! You should try it out. It's near Smith River.

Me and Babes Swanson kicking it up in the casino on Christmas Eve 2022.

Clam chowder is a potato soup--a couple of small clams in bowl. There needs to be hard cooked eggs and poultry for the 19.99 buffet.

The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful, setting the tone for a wonderful experience. At dinner, my server went above and beyond. Not only was the service excellent, but she took the time to share stories about her motorcycle adventures and her Bronco trips along the beautiful California and Oregon coast. Talking about Highway 101, the ocean views, and the places she had explored made the meal feel personal and memorable. It felt less like a customer interaction and more like a conversation with a friend. The breakfast staff were equally friendly and attentive, making the start of the day enjoyable and relaxing. The team in the sports bar was outstanding as well--engaging, professional, and always ready with a smile. Many places offer food, lodging, and entertainment, but it's the people who create lasting memories. Every employee I encountered at Lucky 7 made me feel welcome and appreciated. Their kindness, genuine interest in their guests, and exceptional customer service are what make Lucky 7 such a special place. I highly recommend Lucky 7 Casino & Hotel and look forward to my next visit.

I'm a foodie so when I go somewhere to eat it better be something I can't easily replicate at home. Ana really out does herself with a multiple course breakfast. Very filling, clean eating, freaking DELICIOUS! Everything from the delicate slightly-sweet breads to the hearty main course which always includes eggs in some form, to the fresh fruit to the handmade desserts accompanying every breakfast. The coffee is safe (not too strong, not too weak, not at all bitter). They also offer loose leaf tea if coffee is not your thing. VERY HAPPY with Breakfast prepared by Ana. Breakfast is worth the trip all by itself *YUM* Their attention to detail is exhausting. There are too many amenities to list and even little snacks on tables though out the house. We had access to a full sized fridge/freezer downstairs as well as use of a microwave and toaster oven if we needed it. I can't think of a single thing that we needed; Richard and Ana have thought of everything that you might need during your stay. Arky's uses Hotel quality sheets and towels (all 100% cotton). The bed in the garden view room was incredibly comfortable (king: bamboo pillowtop mattress) with an additional bamboo mattress topper. Plenty of pillow of various soft/firmness. I wouldn't change a thing. I slept like a rock. I'm not sure how many rooms they rent out each night, but there seemed to be different couples and even an entire family staying during our time there. Never once did we hear anyone else in the house unless we left our room. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this place over staying at a local hotel; they are priced about the same.

This room also had a VERY big nice TV - much larger TV than in the other rooms! This was our first time to Crescent City and of course we wondered if the fog horn would be a problem (especially given the "warning" on the hotel website). It wasn't an issue for us - but we didn't sleep with the door to the balcony open or anything. You can definitely hear it... but it's not super loud and/or overbearing... when I think "foghorn" I usually think about the super loud blaster that they use at 49er games or something, but this wasn't that at all - not even close! The TV was a little bit of a challenge to figure out, but we figured it out eventually. I can't say that I was crazy about the bathroom layout... with the sink part being in the main room, but the upside to that is there was a LOT of counter space, much more than would have been available otherwise. After a little reflection, I realized there really wasn't a better way to lay things out. I just had to get used to it... and now, I wouldn't hesitate to get the same room again.

I talk to an Expedia agent who says yep, we should be able to modify the reservation. They call the Oceanview Inn, speak with Ryan, who says nope, no can do. When I went back to the lobby (still on the night of check-in) to ask Ryan what happened, he became confrontational. The staff here are unwilling to help their guests or make even minor modifications to reservations, even for services that have not and will not be rendered. Location: Convenient location close to the beach, highway, and Redwood National Park. Other than the national park there is very little to do in Crescent City. Not many good restaurant options. Room: Antiquated. Hasn't been updated in 25 years, uncomfortable bed. The upgraded room we reserved was quite large, however, the walls are thin and we could hear our neighbors all night. Also, the fog horn blows every 8 seconds. Walking to & from the room we noticed the hallways smell like strongly of urine.

And, if you're lucky enough to get a space at Ocean Views RV Park, you're definitely lucky. Across the street is the ocean. Ocean Views is a small, clean, quiet, and relaxing RV park in Smith River, California. Only 4 miles from the Oregon border. Across the street is the Pacific Ocean and her miles of amazing, beautiful, rugged beaches (see pics). A wonderful retreat from the craziness of life. Solid consistent Wi-Fi. We like to turn on a YouTube fireplace in the mornings & evenings. The NEW owners at Ocean Views are great!!! My wife and I are healthy adventurers and have spent the last few years traveling around in our motorhome and enjoying our beautiful country. We've been to over 40 states, and this is perhaps our very favorite destination!!! Plus, it's the first summer ever that we didn't need to turn on our air conditioner. Total comfort. Some affectionately refer to the area as the banana belt because of the consistent moderate year-round temperatures. Also, there is usually a nice, gentle breeze. AMAZING BEACHES: You can walk or drive to the Beaches. Fly kites. Wind surf. Collect shells, sand dollars, pretty rocks, build driftwood beach houses, or driftwood art. We actually walked to Oregon and back via the beach (4 hr round trip -- mucho fun - and we've done it twice so far). Or you can just do nothing. That's also fun. Sitting and watching the ocean is like watching the Earth breathe. But once you start exploring, you discover Sea Otters, lots of Seals, and Sea Lions. In the evening until sunset, you can watch the seals and pelicans dive near the shore for their fish dinners. Sunsets are often breathtaking. Lucky 7 Casino is about 2 blocks away. It's a nice, small tribal casino/ hotel with a good restaurant and bar. Lucky 7 gas station / convenience store always has the best fuel and propane prices. Brookings, Oregon is only about 8 miles North. Crescent City, California is only 18 miles South. The drive to either is always enjoyable. But watch out for deer & Elk. Brookings: Cool Marina area to explore. Fred Meyer is a great supermarket. Good prices and fun place to shop. Pretty town. Small movie theater (been there). Lots of shops and so many excellent restaurants. Le Flour de Mexico had delicious crab enchiladas & excellent margaritas. DQ (Dairy Queen) for a dip cone (yum). Wild River Pizza. Mattie's Pancake House (awesome online menu). And many more awesome eateries we still look forward to enjoying!!! Nice self-service car wash across from the DQ. We drive to Brookings to wash our Jeep and RV. It's funny to tell friends and family, "Yeah, we had to drive to Oregon to wash our Jeep." ha ha. Crescent City: Safeway with good cinnamon rolls, Walmart, Home Depot. Lots of stores, shops, excellent restaurants. Many fun places to eat. And also, a nice movie theater (been there). In addition to the usual theater snacks like popcorn, we discovered they also make fresh cotton candy & have pool tables. We enjoyed walking around the Marina and seeing the huge commercial fishing boats. Great fish and chips, and shrimp and chips at the Chart Room on the waterfront at the Marina. Nice beaches. And a working Lighthouse. Other stuff to do: Redwood forest. Kayak down Smith River, and so much more!!! All of the above creates a GOOD kind of to-do list. Just a few of the many reasons why we fell in love with the area and our base camp at Ocean Views RV Park. At the time of this writing, we started our third month!!! Lovin it & having a hard time leaving. Hope you love it also. Everything is so close and fun to explore.

Not worth the extra $$$ for it. This could be made so much better by adding some trees as a break around the dog park and to give this site some shade. There was nowhere to seek shade at this site whatsoever so if you wanted to just chill in the afternoon you had to bake in the sun. Also map leads you to believe you can see the river and you cannot from this site. The common deck overlooking the river with a fire pit in the middle is really nice. Also could use some shade to be used during mid-day hours. Saw some seals frolicking in the water while sitting there and that was really cool! Also tons of birds registered on my bird ID app (including osprey and night heron) so they are happy in the area. Bathrooms are dirty and aged. As mentioned by other reviewers the stall doors are very short and offer little privacy. Signs request drying off in the stall to prevent standing water but it's hard to prevent the water getting out. It's not far off the main 101 at all so you do hear road noise until it slows later in the evening. It's a reasonable distance from Crescent City and right in the middle of national park visitor centers. Short drive to beach areas. Coin operated washers & dryers: not much to say about this, in all honesty. It's exactly as you'd think, $1.50 to use the washer, $1 to use the dryer. However, the dryer heat is VERY weak. We ended up needed to pay for two dryer cycles for our clothes to be properly dried, as the first cycle (on the Heavy Duty setting, mind you), did not dry our clothes and they were very much still damp. They do not offer any laundry detergent or softener or anything of the sort, you must bring your own. They say there's a hot tub somewhere, but we genuinely could not find it. The if you are expecting to work from here off of your phone or laptop, the free WiFi offered here will not allow that to happen. The showers / bathrooms: the entire campsite runs on an old septic system and old electricity. While showering, my sister and I got awful smells of the septic tank. The showers in the campsite are in desperate need of some TLC, as they are falling apart and have cracks in the flooring. The showers face outwards, so they are prone to splashing water all over the floor and causing a minor flood inside the bathroom. Another thing to note is the stall doors on both the showers and toilets are very very short. If you are taller than 5'6, you can easily see over them, or someone can peek in. The shower stall doors also do not lock at all. While staying in the campsite, we had MULTIPLE occasions of the bathroom door being left open / being purposefully stuck open with a door stopper. At first, I believed it to just be ignorantly left open by other campers. However, on our last day, my sister and I were showering when suddenly the bathroom door was opened and left open. When we called out to ask them to close the door, we were either ignored or went unheard. We saw one of the campsite workers speaking with the man outside of the woman's bathroom. They were not cleaning anything or anything of the sort, and had left the woman's bathroom door WIDE open while we were showering. If you are considering going on this trip alone, DON'T. One of our party members went to the bathroom at night by herself, and was FOLLOWED by someone. She kept looking behind her, and he kept looking away when she'd look at him. Once she returned to the campsite and got into her tent, he stopped and went, "Oops. Wrong campsite" and walked away. A lot of the people there gave off creepy or strange vibes. One night while our whole group was at the waterside fire pit, we were roasting marshmallows. Two other members were there, one introduced herself as a staff member, Jeanette. While we initially just gave general introductions (our names), and simply went on to make our marshmallows, Jeanette went out of her way to make us uncomfortable. Jeanette looked to the only black person (second youngest, and LOOKS young) in our party and started making really strange and uncomfortable comments: "You would have such beautiful babies." and "You wouldn't be the type to leave your babies" (Racist much??). She then proceeded to straight up harass everyone in our party by coming up with strange and random BABY NAMES for all the couples. All of the couples were young adults (18-20), and all of them look super young too!! She made a few other strange and uncomfortable comments that I am choosing not to add here, but it was extremely unprofessional and very uncomfortable for everyone involved. We ended up leaving the campfire early and turning in for an early night because of it. After we had all decided to turn in, Jeanette followed my mother back to our campsite (after my mother went back for her gloves) and attempted to make conversation. My mother was uninterested and ignored her, and she, thankfully, left. Overall, we will never be returning to this campsite. You would have better luck camping elsewhere.
