Crowded space filled with tawdry trinkets, that used to be elegant and open space from which to shop for well curated product. I don't think Bob is happy there, given his antisocial vibe and demeanor. Needless to say, I walked out, and bought some Birkenstocks at the shoe store nearby. She replied that she wasn't vaxxed and was protecting herself and other shoppers. She was not snarky or pushy, just answered the question. The register lady sort of snort-laughed derisively and said ooooh, ooo-kaay. The shopper left without making a purchase, as did my little group. 1: why did the register person feel the need to accost the shopper? 2: They lost at least 4 purchases in that moment, and I won't be back if I see that lady at the register again. And then I wonder if it was the owner at the register? 3: shops complain about losing business, but if this is what's going on, then yeah, they're losing business. There were many interesting things I would have purchased, had it not been for this interaction.
