Obviously, they're not going to want to shell out $$ for something they don't think they can sell relatively quickly at a profit, so it's definitely a supply and demand kind of thing. Makes sense. Turns out the back massager thing I bought was broken ($49.99 listed on the box) and the gloves I grabbed she already had stashed at her gym ($14.99). Didn't really anticipate issues (I should have assumed their items are broken I guess) so the receipt was discarded. Didn't think anything of it since every store ever will give you store credit if you don't have the actual paper receipt. Nope... wife goes to return the gifts for store credit and see if there's anything in there she wants with the 65ish dollars I paid. They give her a gift card with $29.00 on it... called them and apparently if you return anything w/o a receipt the items automatically revert to the LOWEST sale price they've EVER had on that item so #1 the (broken) massager is marked up like crazy and #2 they literally have the items on their floor that show the price point they're currently marked at that particular location. Bought the stuff less than a week ago, main item was broken, zero attempt at customer service... 35 bucks isn't going to ruin anyone but the principal of thing is a killer for me especially considering brick and mortar retail is dying and Big 5 is already fully outclassed by Dicks and wayyy out-convenienced by Amazon. I already felt like I was doing them a favor by not utilizing those other options.... TLDR - worst return policy ever (and one i've literally never seen anywhere else), not helping your company survive

I had brought my mom earlier this year to get Shoes in elk Grove, California out of Fleet feet. My…read moremom is a fragile, diabetic and geriatric, and I noticed that she had really worn through the shoes so while shopping in Folsom, I spotted a fleet feet on my map And told her I was buying her a new pair of the shoes they fit her for earlier this year, the neuropathy and her feet is pretty bad. I told my mom I'd have them look up her measurements and we would get the same shoes we got before. This was the first fleet feet. I've been in that had more employees than customers, but after my experience, I completely understand. I went in and I ask a gentleman in a navy sweatshirt. I believe his name was Justin, but I was so upset when I left. I'm not quite sure if his name was Justin. He was a young kid under 25 with a navy shirt on. I ask him if he would look up my mother's account by her phone number. He said they only do email but he would try the name we went back-and-forth a lot. We tried my name, etc. I finally said let me go out to the car and get my mom's email address as she was waiting in the car for the shoes before I could do so the gentleman says to me that the computers between the fleet fees are not linked so it wouldn't matter unless I bought the shoes there which I found odd because I've gone to other fleet feet and they've been able to find my account so I could get the exact model of shoe that I had purchased before At this point, Mr. Navy man was finding this pretty freaking amusing and I was not. I said look I just like to buy my mother a pair of shoes and I'm sure there's something that can be done to figure out which shoes she had before they were either unwilling or unprepared to help with this situation which could've been as simple as calling up the elk Grove fleet fee to find this information so that the owner of this fleet feet could make a sale because I was ready to purchase a pair of shoes. Not only was the boy and his friends also working in the store finding this incredibly amusing I am not. I am sorry for the owner of the store because not only will I tell others about the store. I will never go into the store again and I have already contacted fleet feed corporate to let them know about my experience This store seem to be stocked with a lot of young people with no oversight and again I found it very odd that there were so many readily available employees as usually a fleet fee on the weekend is not for the faint of heart. I ended up getting an amazing pair of red boots so worth it the value of them doesn't do it justice and I also got some oil based perfume and I got a journal as well. The quality of the fabric and clothing is exceptional. I love to stop in here as they always have new things coming in. Right now they have their summer things on 60% off to get ready for fall. It is so hard to find boutiques that carry plus sized clothes that are of good quality, so I am happy here. Leera boutique has the plus sized items in the back racks, ask and they will direct you. They also have jewelry, candles, purses and shoes. So many things to choose from. They are interested in helping other small businesses. The husband and wife team are so friendly and helpful.
