I came here for a high tea experience on a Sunday in February and it was delightful! The tables…read morewere already set as we walked in with cute unique teacups. We sat down and ordered the tea we liked. We each got to choose our own tea and was told we could try as many as we want. I liked the pacing; I was able to have a long conversation with my friend without feeling rushed and no interruptions. Everything that came out was delicious. The scone was a little too flaky, in my opinion, but was still very tasty. It didn't look like a lot of food, but we were both very satisfied. I am definitely going to bring my Mom back for this. Also, the mini cakes here (not included in high tea) are absolutely gorgeous. They are not too sweet, and remind me of what I used to get at cafes in Japan. My favorite that I've tried so far is the blueberry cake. I love them all though. Can't wait to try more!

It doesnt seem like they'll seat you early, so show up just a few minutes before your reservation. I think there is adequate parking out front as its in a shopping center. They brought out our tea first. We ordered the breakfast blend, which was a loose leafed tea. It was fine. It is all served in smaller tea cups, so fellas, pinkies out! There is a picture of the food we were served, and everything tasted really good! Even the stuff that didn't match our taste preferences. It looks like they have a different menu of food items each month. Note that they will not make substitutions to the food that is being served unless you have a food allergy. In addition to afternoon tea, they also have coffee, desserts, and gelato that can be purchased. We were so full that we didn't take any extra sweets home with us. Sophie was our server and was super friendly and offered to answer any questions we had. For the price, and the quality of food, I'd come back for the regular afternoon tea.

I saw that Dorinda's was having an open house and thought it might be fun to check it out, and I am…read moreso glad I did. I hadn't yet had a chance to try their chocolate, and this was an amazing opportunity to not only try a wide variety (mint meltaway, peanut butter cup, espresso bean, chocolate pretzel), but to also make some by hand! Visitors were allowed back into the kitchen, where we washed hands and donned gloves, and were then given a tutorial in how to dip and decorate dark chocolate salted caramels. Mine were not too bad (I'll keep my day job), but they absolutely tasted delicious. All of the chocolates had a very fresh and distinctly non-mass-produced taste. Dorinda's clearly offers high-quality candies, while also coming up with some amazing flavors like the rice crispies and the strawberry balsamic. (I got to taste the actual olive oil used for this, and I will have to pick some up next time I'm in Truckee). The biggest surprise was their cherry cordial. Cherries are my top 2 favorite chocolates, and these are absolutely the best I've had (better than See's, Godiva, etc.). Perfect blend of dark chocolate, tart maraschino cherry, liquid center, and the bit of fondant icing...and noticeably freshly made. Thank you Dorinda's for the opportunity to discover your chocolates and to get a glimpse into the magic behind these delicious candies. TIP: You can also pre-order and pick up your Frost Giant Creamery (small batch, locally sourced, made from scratch) ice cream here. I kept hearing everyone say, "Wow, that's good!" after tasting their Nevada Gold sample.

The team was all really nice and engaging and were able to help with all our needs. I can see why the venue is good for the summer with its outside dining but it can be a little difficult when it rains as it did last night. But even with the rain, it was still a good time. My top picks...the Prosecco Doc Treviso Brut with the lemon and white chocolate. Top notch!

During the pandemic, I have noticed a lot of places offer charcuterie, even if you aren't having an event. I found Hosted on Instagram and wanted to give them a try! They had so many options! One thing I loved the most, besides the delicious selection, was the staff gives you a list of what's on the board AND they support other local businesses!!!! It was perfect for our two person road trip and lasted into the next day. Hosted would definitely be my first choice for ordering a charcuterie board in the future. It made my life a lot easier not having to make it myself.

I was ECSTATIC to see she sells Nevada Brining Company pickles - handcrafted in the Silver State - Wahoo!! I just watched a story on channel 2 news about this start-up pickling genius and it was on my list to check out. Fell into my lap visiting this boutique. I bought the Boozy Pickle with Whiskey and Fresno Peppers and the fast selling Ruby Red Onions Sweet & Sour. Prices are reasonable and lower than what other outlets charge for this popular pickling company. I can't wait to try the cauliflower when she gets it from the manufacturer. I appreciate the attention to detail wrapping each jar in purple gift wrap paper and placing into a crafty gift bag. I'm coming here for a last minute gift ideas! Really convenient they take plastic considering how small this establishment is. What's cash? Next time, I'm going for the red spicy salt for Bloody Marys!
