Yikes. Easily the worst Thai meal I can remember. The salad rolls were dried out and came with a thick, tasteless, overheated "peanut" sauce that resembled day-old hollandaise and burned the roof of my mouth. The Massaman curry was bland, with huge overcooked vegetables and tofu that fell apart. The Pad Thai had a sour, off smell and taste. The main dining room was stacked with kitchen‑supply boxes. Our server ghosted us the entire meal. When he finally reappeared to collect the money, my husband politely mentioned the curry had no flavor and that we would've appreciated being asked about the spice level when ordering. He shrugged and said he didn't bother because we ordered "mild dishes," and that we should've asked to be "hooked up with a spice rack." Wow, tonight we're were so disappointed with our local Thai restaurant. We have lived here about 6 years now and Wild Tiger had become a fav to dine. I have no idea what's happening. We were greeted and asked to pick any table, I believe this was the owner. We sat and a set of menus were brought to us by another employee. We sat there at least 12 minutes and no one returned. The owner was chatting with a gentleman at the counter behind us. No water or acknowledgement to take our order. Plenty of people probably Uber Eats or DoorDash waiting, but no service was happening inside. Extremely disappointed today, we walked out, and no one cared to stop and ask us why. The owner walked to the back of the kitchen after the gentleman he was speaking to, left. The gal that brought us 2 menus, had gloves on and seemed more like the person who cleans the tables. We went here for a late dinner on our first night. It was about a 10 minute walk from our hotel which we did not mind at all because the weather was gorgeous. We started with chicken satay, which was a generous portion of chicken thigh meat. The chicken was tender and moist. Well grilled and marinated. I did not really care for the peanut sauce though. And there was no sweet and sour vinegar sauce that is usually served with satay. I had the drunken noodles and it was a very good dish. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the chicken was tender. Good veggies included such as broccoli, red pepper, and tomatoes. I liked it. The wife/kid shared Pad Thai and liked it. The kid ate a lot which means it was sweet. Service was a bit slow. The ambiance is ok. Not as Thai-ed up as some restaurants I have been to, but not offensive. Overall, it was a good meal and we enjoyed it. read more

This is my go-to local Thai spot in east Vancouver, it's hard to choose my favorite, between the Khao Soi and drunken noodles, I crave them both! Tonight I tried their Thai Curry Puff for the first time and it was SO DELICIOUS!!! The pastry was crispy and light; the filling was so flavorful, reminiscent of a samosa in flavor profile. I also can't resist their Thai iced Coffee anytime I order food I gotta get one, it's so luscious and beats American coffee every time. I usually get my food delivered but the dining room is beautiful when I visited they provided great service and the experience was amazing in terms of food presentation if you want to sit down for a meal. read more

Ive been here several times hmm like perhaps 3 or 4 times over the past 3yrs. Ive not submitted a review until now. Last night i decieded to try they're pumkin curry with just vegetables and a papaya salad. I'm starting to believe that their is an embargo on vegetables in Vancouver and Portland...... why do i strongly believe this; because when i order just veggies in my curries, stir frys or noodles... i only get broccoli and carrots. I go to other states and request "just veggies" and im pleasantly surprised with snow peas, cabbage, zucchini, green beans, carrots, broccoli, mushrooms, onions, and even some times Chinese broccoli. Thats was the case with Wild Tiger Thai all i got was pumkin and perphs 2 or 3 broccoli florets. Carrots and cabbage. The cabbage was nice as most places like i said give only a few broccloi and carrots. Ok the curry was ok; what was not ok was their was zero spice... i had requested hot... but i could not taste any chilli pepper, zero spice. The papay salad was on a scale of 1 to 10 a 3, The papaya was sliced so thin and the portion was very small also the liquid that they put on the papaya salad was zero spice it was just sweet. The people working here are cordial and i guess friendly. The gentleman that took my order seemed a bit defensive... but the woman i spoke to on the phone was pleasant. The food was okay but it didn't wow me as I'd expect for the price. The papaya salad was a very small portion, half the plate was big pieces of cabbage. The salad itself was more lime juice than the balanced flavors I expect (the peanuts were also roasted which was a new experience). The tofu salad rolls themselves were fine. They were fresh and not gummy. The peanut sauce was okay. It had curry in it (yellow curry) which isn't what i expect or want with a Thai peanut sauce. My husband ordered the yellow curry and said it was okay but very scant in the tofu, even though he paid for extra. We probably won't be back. read more

This is the worst Thai restaurant I have been to in a while. On our way into the restaurant we passed the rice cookers placed in the dining area. That was the first red flag and I regret not listening to it. Stuff is everywhere, on the counters, in the bathroom. It is just a huge mess. I ordered drunken noodles that tasted bland and were mushy and the noodles all broken up. When I pointed it out to the waiter I have been lectured that the noodles break while being stir fried. Maybe the kitchen staff should look up some recipes on how real Thai drunken noodles look like, certainly not the mess I had on my plate that looked broken down like some baby food. All in all very disappointing, started from the overall mess in the restaurant to the quality of the food and topped with poor service. Never again! read more

We ordered the jumbo shrimp curry and basil fried rice with shrimp and it was horrible. Right when the food was delivered it had a very strong wet dog smell and realized it was coming from the shrimp. We did even eat the appetizers. Entering with trepidation and hoping for the best....and the best is what we got! The best service, by the host and the server. So friendly and so welcoming. The best Panang curry I have ever had, so rich and creamy with just the right heat. I had the grilled prawn and my husband had the chicken. The best seating, a comfortable booth with a view of a gorgeous sunset out the window (and Walgreens) and a view of the TV with pre Super Bowl festivities. The bar is only beer and wine, but they had good choices on tap. Try a pot of tea. We will definitely be back. read more

We have been going to Wild Tiger for years. Most of the time we get carryout. Most of the time the food is good/decent. The quality of food has become inconsistent. We ordered pad thai and panang curry (their curry has always been our go to). The chicken was dry and the green beans were raw but not fresh. For the price the quality has really gone down in the last 5 years. It's just hit or miss. I have found when eating in the quality is better. I'm not sure why. read more

Wild Tiger has been our go-to place for Thai food for the past few years, serving consistent, decent food. Something has changed, and the food in our last order was so bad that we won't be going back. I ordered a stir fry with chicken, and what I received was -- well, I'm not sure what it was. The "meat" was ground, not sliced, so I don't even know if it was chicken. The green beans were sliced so thinly that at first I thought they were thinly-sliced scallions; I've never seen minced green beans in Thai food before! The cabbage was too tough to chew. And the entire dish was drowning in oil; it appeared to have been deep fried instead of stir-fried, which is just disgusting. I could not force myself to eat my meal; I don't like not knowing what I'm eating, and frankly the meat/bean mixture that had been dumped on top of the vegetables looked like dog food. We used to love coming to this place, even brought our friends here. Their chicken satay tender and juicy... Recently, we stopped on a Friday evening for dine-in. There was just one other table occupied but they kept us waiting for a long time that we almost walked out. Apparently, they're all busy in the kitchen (fulfilling take-out orders). I was recently craving Pad See Ewe with tofu and extra veggies and Tofu Salad Rolls. It had been a while since I'd had Thai and even longer since I ordered from Wild Tiger Thai. I ordered take out and picked it up promptly. While the salad rolls were fine, the noodles in the Pad See Ewe were mushy and clumpy. It was a real disappointment. I had wanted to go to this place when they were a combination Thai and Laotian restaurant but had never gotten around to it. A friend from Portland was visiting and wanted to try it so we went. I got salad rolls to start, as well as sharing an appetizer of crab puffs (crab rangooon) that my dinner companion ordered (not thai, but that's ok). I ordered the Tom Kha as my entree. The service was pretty good and quick, and the wait staff friendly. The starters were good and came out relatively quickly. I appreciated they had the Thai condiments when I asked to make things spicy, since I found most dishes to be rather bland and overly sweet. Even the Tom Kha, which is usually a very flavorful dish was just rather bland, and my dining companion said the same of her pad Thai. I'd give them a chance again...maybe it was an off night. Wild Tiger is close to my work, so I will stop in on occasion to take an order of Drunken Noodles to go, dragging my "kill" back to the sanctity of my cubicle to devour in private like, well...a wild tiger! Like its namesake, Wild Tiger is a feral beast that takes no prisoners when it comes to serving delicious food, although their operations have stuttered a bit since, and in the wake of, COVID-19. During my most recent lunch hour visits, the dining area, while open for business, doesn't always seem that way: it is dimly lit, almost shuttered looking, with most of the light coming in from the windows. The bar is empty, and the host stand is frequently unmanned, the employees relying on a doorbell to be informed of a waiting customer...and they don't always hear it. Sometimes you have to flag someone down to grab a table or place an order. Once you DO manage to place an order, their turnaround times are ludicrous. I've waited less than 10 minutes (and closer to five) for a walk-in lunch order before it was handed to me, hot and fresh - very important for those on a tighter lunch break than mine! Portion sizes are variable during the lunch hour: you can opt for the lunch or dinner sized entrée, the latter being a few dollars more, but I've found that the lesser of the two is more than satisfying enough. Spice levels are similarly variable, but as my heat receptors have long since died, don't ask me for any critical review of their Scoville score. Overall, Wild Tiger provides quality, well-portioned and delicious food at as-expected prices (for the area), with the swiftness of a pouncing tiger's master stroke. It's just a shame that the interior of the restaurant itself seems to be dying the same, slow, agonizing death of a wounded gazelle caught in a predator's vice-like jaws. read more

Went for our anniversary dinner tonight. The food was fantastic. We had crispy tofu and crispy calamari for our appetizers and Pad Thai with tofu and Mussamman curry with chicken. Since it was a Wednesday night it wasn't too busy but we were seated right away. The service was excellent and the staff came and checked on us numerous times. We will definitely be back! Their service ruined my experience. I had an 11:30 pick up scheduled for a large order for my team at work. I arrived at 11:26 and was told it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. I stood there while the delivery drivers stacked up, waiting to take orders (some were already waiting when I arrived). I didn't receive my order until just after noon. The meeting this was for started at noon, so by the time I got to the office and set up, the meeting was underway and this disrupted their discussion. I will not be returning there. read more

This is a decent Thai place. Nothing to brag about and cannot say I would be back. We ordered the Khao soi, pork fried rice, shrimp salad rolls, and the pork larb. The khao soi was fine. No complaints. The fried rice was pretty good. The larb is where I was really thrown off. Larb traditionally should have the toasted ground rice in the meat and they had none. It definitely wasn't a strong flavor and just fell short. Larb made correctly is one of my favorite things. Also it's served with squares of cabbage that you cannot really use to wrap.
