Unforgettable Family Adventure with Happy Trails Rental!…read more We recently took our family to Palm Springs for a fun weekend filled with stargazing, hiking, and off-roading--and hands down, the highlight of the entire trip was our experience with Happy Trails Rental. We rented two side-by-sides (one 4-seater and one 2-seater) and chose the Scavenger Hunt, which was perfect since we had my younger nephew with us. From start to finish, Ben and Tony were absolutely fantastic--extremely helpful, communicative, and transparent every step of the way. They made the entire process smooth and stress-free, which allowed us to focus on having fun as a family. They even provided a cooler for us to pack lunch, and the navigation was pre-mapped with clear waypoints, making it easy to explore without worrying about getting lost. We stopped multiple times along the way to take pictures, enjoy the scenery, and just soak in the experience. The entire time, my family was smiling from ear to ear. Ben and Tony are true professionals, and it really shows in how well they run their business and take care of their customers. If you're looking to spend a few unforgettable hours outdoors with your family, I can't recommend Happy Trails Rental enough. We will absolutely be back!

The owner actually runs a motel and advertises a dirt bike and quad for rental. Unfortunately, we agreed to rent and were asked to sign a very long rental agreement on the owners iPad. We then waited about 45 mins while he drove the bike/quad to the garage for gas, then we drove across town to the trails and the owner left us. First of all, the both the bike and quad are 10 years old and in poor condition. We paid $300 + 50 for gas. We did not see them before we signed (stupidly that was our fault) as that would have been a big warning sign. When they kept stalling the owner said that when they warm up, they will be fine. They weren't and made riding for my quite difficult. The console of quad kept popping off and the steering was crooked. The stand of the dirt bike was held up by a rope and it dropped down during the ride. The clutch and brake handles were both bent. Needless to say, we did not enjoy ourselves. When the owner came back at the end of ride, he said that we had scratched the back of bike and bent the clutch and asked for $70 more in damages to cover a bent clutch handle. When I asked him how he comes to $70, he became abusive and said I was a 'dick' and that the rental contract allows him to change up to $500 at his sole discretion. Shortly, there after he decided to charge $150. I will contest this with the credit card company. My advice to anyone thinking of renting is don't. If you do, read the agreement and have a look at the bike and quad and better still drive them before you sign and pay. You won't want to rent once you do that.

I really can't say much else. The vibe was there, the views were there, the knowledge and stories on point. Allan really made our experience the best. I tremendously appreciate how kind and cool he was with our 11year old. He loves to ask a million questions and Allan was just so kind and happy to answer all of them! This was our first time and I will say.. we are coming back with some friends lol. I highly recommend it's. Soooo much fun! We experienced a part of big bear most people don't see or know about it was just sooo beautiful! I highly highly recommend! Don't sleep on this one!

I was a little hesitant when booking because of the price and no-refund policy but all the reviews won me over. I'm glad we said yes because it was so worth it. Those 40 inch wheels come in handy when you are going through puddles, rocks and mud. Both my kids had an amazing time (age 12 and 8) and I would say they felt like it was a roller coaster that kept going! Bob had music on that he selected throughout the trip and it honestly felt fun and adventurous. TIPS: I will say you should probably bring a warm jacket and it gets quite windy with the open air jeep so sunglasses and even a face covering is a must. We also Brought water and snacks but only used our water because we were so into the experience and the tour. Bob was very knowledgable about the environment, trees, history, and story of Big Bear. We learned new facts and had a great time at it also. This was also a perfect time because the season was not crazy busy and the weather was just perfect. I will also say Bob is a great photographer and was able to catch all the right shots that we were hoping for.

Even paper ski masks to help keep out the dust! That was a very nice and unexpected touch. I was a bit nervous after reading some of the reviews about getting the waivers done. But it's not hard. I've worked in IT help desks for years so I know some people are just not good with a computer. That's fine. Just read the instructions carefully and you'll get thru. Or just get help from a teenager. :-) To get to this location they give you very good directions. If you follow them you'll have no issues. It's actually very easy! But GPS is not great for the less traveled roads in the mountains going to a place that doesn't really have a street address. We will be going back soon! Hopefully for 2 hours next time!
