Not a good experience! No WiFi, oven down, no High Noons. The Seasonal Bold Rock was gone. Couldn't/wouldn't put the sound on for the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship game. New to the area and was looking for a place that would have a bunch of tv's to watch some NFL playoff games and chicken wings. Went inside Wild Wing Cafe and they had a tons of TV's but all of them were playing basketball so had to ask to get one changed to football. I was very surprised that this place was not really that crowded. So I don't know if this was a "Sign". The waitress was very nice but for some reason wasn't very attentive. I had asked to change a TV so I could watch football and was told they would change it right away. After about 10 minutes and the waitress being MIA I had to walk to the bar and ask myself in which the bartender changed it. Also during this time We got to stare at the menu for at least 15 minutes before being asked whether we wanted a drink. Then it took another 15 minutes to get the drink and we finally ordered. The wings took a Long time to come out so when the waitress gave me my food I asked for another beer. Well, I pretty much finished the wings before I even got my beer so that was a good 10-15 minutes. We noticed a couple sat next to us at a table and sat for a long time and were never approached by a waitress, so they bailed. I will have to say the wings were awesome and the wife really enjoyed her grilled shrimp. I just couldn't understand the lack of service our waitress was doing even though the place was really not that busy. I would not want to be there if it ever was busy. Food is good, sauce selection is amazing. Great spot with music and pool tables. Lights could be shielded above them as they are blinding while trying to play pool or just sitting near them. The service is usually very good but as I was in there this past week and the bartender was not on his game at all. I've had him as a server and that was even worse. Just finished attempting to eat here. Server was friendly and we were sat quickly. Ordered wings, onion rings and a bacon cheeseburger. When our food arrived we were served onion rings, a side salad and a blue cheese burger. 1 of 3 correct dishes. The wings came out not long after but it took over 30 min for a replacement burger to come out. When it arrived we found a wax paper square cooked into the burger between the cheese and patty. Gross! Came here yesterday afternoon and the place was busy but we were lucky enough to get 2 seats at the bar. We could see the bartenders were very busy, but Jarelle said he would be with us in a minute. He took our drink order and gave us some menus. We ordered mozzarella sticks and a wing/nugget combo. The food arrived quick enough for how busy it was and everything was good. Both bartenders took great care of us although I didn't get the other bartenders name. My boyfriend and I decided to go to out to eat tonight at 7 pm, and to my surprise, theres almost nobody in there but plenty of servers walking around. We also weren't greeted by the hostess when we came in , and someone else had to come over and help her because she had no clue what she was doing seating wise. We get a table and end up sitting there for 30 minutes, not acknowledged once, with all these servers walking around doing literally nothing but talking and laughing to each other, and then a new table comes in and they're immediately attended to. We just got up and walked out because we were both so pissed off. Also there were just screaming kids and drunk people obnoxiously laughing and yelling the whole time. Every other time I have come in there, the service has been just fine but it was terrible tonight and that was enough for me to never return. We went to Chilli's and it was much better! read more

First the bad: Service was terribly slow, but friendly. Maybe the kitchen was shorthanded? The good: We went for a late lunch. The staff was friendly. The food was some of the most tasty that I've ever enjoyed, especially at a wing joint. Their burgers, quesadillas, soups, sides, and appetizers were awesome. They had ample menu options and ample sauces to choose from. Serving sizes were appropriate, but not generous. Be sure to order an appetizer or side to complete your meal. You'll be glad you did. Almost everything had a "kick to it" that was indiscernible at first, but grew gradually throughout the dish. We didn't order dessert. The atmosphere was nice and clean and not too loud for pleasant conversation. They had ample seating available. I didn't order wings, and there were no wings left behind at our table, so I suspect they were pretty good since they were completely gone by the end of the meal. There wasn't a single scrap of meat on the bones. Long and short of it: Don't expect the fastest service, but if you're willing to wait, the food has a unique and artful flavor. read more

OMG, it seems like it can't get any worse, but it does. If you're coming for dinner, order breakfast too and you'll probably get your meal in time for breakfast. Just read the other similar reviews in the past year or so -- you'll see the same issues. New town for us, we started going here about 2 years ago. Food and service THEN was great. About a year ago, it started slipping: a long time to get food, orders wrong, servers not following instructions (simple, like we want our salad first please) and out of food items and out of certain sauces (which they heavily advertise they have 30 something choices). All of the above gradually got worse. We waited 90 minutes for our food tonight. Group of 9. One guy honestly left at about 30 the minute mark, got food someplace else, ate and came back before we got our food. The food we got was luke warm for some, cold for others. Chix had obviously been double fried as it had two solid, and I mean solid, crusts. The chicken beneath the double crust was room temp and tasted like yesterday's cooked food, stringy and hard to chew. (I felt like the Griswold's in Christmas Vacation trying to chew the turkey Cousin Eddie's wife had made.) The restaurant was pretty vacant, only a couple of tables dining and the rest at the bar drinking. I can see why. Serving staff is usually pretty nice though. read more

Wow, was this good! My wife and I had chicken nuggets with fries (regular for her and sweet potato for me). Our son had the southern fried chicken sandwich it's onion rings. The pricing was reasonable. I also had a porter beer which was AMAZING! Our waiter could not have been more delightful. Service was relatively quick and the atmosphere was relaxing. We will literally never go back. We've been there at least four times now, so we've had a fair sampling to give a review. We wish we could love it, because we love the location and open air dining, but it's just not worth it -- we've been seriously disappointed with each visit. Each time the food has taken a minimum of 45 mins and more often, it's like this last time, which was an hour and a half in a nearly empty restaurant -- and it still comes out wrong. If you talk to the manager about it, they give no appearance of caring, and they'd seem to prefer if you just gave up and left. Restrooms are filthy, glasses aren't clean, food is only okay, if you ever get it. Johnson City has many great places to eat -- this isn't one of them. read more

We just moved to the area within the last 5 months. We have tried almost every single restaurant in Downtown JC and the greater Tri-cities area. Additionally, we have been to no less than 10 Wild Wings Cafe's across the US. The JC location has provided the worst customer experience of all of JC restaurants and all of the WWC locations. We have been there 6 times in 4 months Each time thinking it must be just a bad night. Every time it wasn't very busy. But the servers were more interested in flirting with each other or talking in the server station. Each time the "'manager" was in on the conversations. We watch our drinks sit at the bar for 10 minutes. Every time something with our orders we're either wrong or slow to be received. The management and owners cannot blame any of this on the employees because EVERY other restaurant in Johnson City has provided better service. They should go sit at Cheddars, Kickback Jacks, Cootie Browns, or Southern Craft to see how it's done. Engaged management. We will not be going to or recommending this location again any time soon nor will we be bringing our friends and family. Corporate of WWC should just cut its ties with this store. read more

I will say the servers were good, and I've always liked the ambiance. But last night had to wait 30 minutes for a table. For the same empty table that we asked about when we arrived, plus many more empty tables. But my biggest problem was seeing how the bar glasses were cleaned! I've been here several times over the years and the service has gone downhill in the last several months. Two of us went to eat and after being seated we waited for 15 minutes while the server went to other tables but never stopped by us. We finally went to the bar to get some drinks and about ten minutes after that the hostess came to take our order. Food came out about 20 minutes later and was fine. We waited another 20 or so after finishing the same hostess brought us the check. We never got drink refills or checked on otherwise and had to go back to the bar to get water. Don't believe the positive reviews. The servers hand out cards with their names on it asking customers to rate the restaurant 5-stars and mention them by name so they can win a contest to get free stuff. Some of the servers get their friends to make fake reviews so they win. Ours handed us a card with their name on it explaining how it works. Unfortunately for them the experience was FAR from 5-star quality and we're not gonna write a chummy review to make the place look good. First of all, we got a platter of 30 wings so we tried a variety of sauces and all of them were overly sweet and didn't even taste like wing sauce. More like ketchup. Service was unbelievably slow, at one point it taking 10 minutes to get a refill on a beer. We almost had finished our food by the time we got it. Atmosphere was fun enough but overly loud with the band so it was hard to hear our server the entire time. My advice is if you want to look good on social media focus on getting authentic feedback from customers and improving based on that instead of encouraging fake reviews from staff. read more

Came to watch the Army Navy game. . . At a sports TV bar. Was met with rude attitudes when even asking to put a TV screen over to the Army Navy game which is one of the biggest rivalry games in college football. They eventually did. FIFA quarterfinals was on so that took sound preference however it ended into the 2nd quarter of the Army Navy game. I asked if the sound could be switched from post FIFA commentary to the sound for the Army Navy game Server never returned to tell me yes or no Then after asking several more times the server said the owner told him absolutely not. I've never once gone into a sports bar and met with such negativity in trying to watch a game. I was even trying to be respectful in understanding that FIFA was a higher priority. We were weary of eating there as we walked in because there were so many tables full of people that had no food, but we decided to take a chance. We waited 25 minutes to be seated and then sat for 20 minutes without being greeted by our server or anything. Finally, a tall blonde waitress was very nice and asked if we had been helped and she said she would be happy to help us even though we were not in her section.
