Our party of 4 went to this restaurant about 2:30 on a Sunday after Thanksgiving. We planned to look at the Christmas tree displays in the downtown parks. The restaurant was less than half full. It took the server about 15 minutes to take our order and another 30 minutes for the kitchen to prepare an order of simple sandwiches. The others at the table said their sandwiches were "ok" -- my chicken fajita roll-up was supposed to contain chicken, rice and vegetables and the vegetables were virtually non existent. Instead of edible slices or small pieces of chicken, there were big, dry chewy chunks - plus a mass of rice which fell out of the roll-up with every bite! What a mess. This was a pretty good restaurant when it first opened- it's slipped downhill- a lot. There are lots of Very Good restaurants downtown, this isn't one of them . read more

We went in on Sunday night at seven with a party of six. The wait time was 20-30 mins even though there were about 20 empty tables. Our server was Dayton (he was fantastic) he came right away and got our order. This is where it all went downhill. Appetizers came out after the meals had been served. Some people had almost finished their meals and others had nothing. My wings were wrong and when they came back they were burnt with little sauce. The lady the was helping Dayton run the food to the table (long brown hair) was so rude! She practically threw the food on the table. Wild Wing Cafe is a great place to go to enjoy sporting events, wings, and local craft beers. This restaurant offers an absolutely fantastic atmosphere. There are so many televisions that it is almost quite overwhelming. This restaurant also has big garage doors as windows - where they can open up when the weather permits. I have been to Wild Wing Cafe twice and have enjoyed my experiences both times. I can only speak on the quality of the wings at Wild Wing Cafe, and they are fantastic. I have tried nine different flavors, and about six of them were really good. My only complaint is that I really do not like that they do not label the flavor of the wings when you receive them. If you got more than one flavor, you are relying on the judgement of the server to identify them. I know my server misidentified my wings when I went the second time (because I knew what my favorite one tasted like based on my first visit). The drink selection they offer is truly incredible. They offer a great variety of local craft beers. In addition, they have the typical miller lite, bud light, etc on draft. The only problem I have is with the service. The service both times have been definitely sub-par experiences. If the food was average, I would've never returned the second time. I think they have a lot of first time servers so that can be associated with the problem. I will be returning to Wild Wing Cafe and hopefully they will have the 'problems' fixed by then. We got there at 1:10pm - If you haven't been to this place yet, maybe don't - maybe don't check this off your bucket list, maybe keep it off entirely. We waited 30 minutes to be seated after being told 15-20, they then lied to us after we asked why we hadn't been seated yet. Lady at the front said "oh we got the wrong name but we can seat you now" but the dude who took our name down (new guy) disagreed with the lady who said our name was taken down incorrectly. Then. Fast forward beyond a missing water and 20 minutes AFTER WE SAT DOWN AND ORDERED OUR BEERS, we finally get our missing water and our beers, sans one that was out of stock. Great. Then our waitress doesn't take our food order right away, comes back 10 minutes later to ask what we want to order... we're there, sitting, with 3 beers and 4 waters and no food or appetizers for AN HOUR. Kitty (Kat) is a fantastic server. She makes her customers feel welcome with a warm , friendly and attentive approach to her profession. Well the atmosphere is pretty awesome. Friendly staff. Love the garage windows be nice on warm weathwrif they are open. Live bands are listed on tv in the middle columns. There are tvs everywhere. Lots of seating. The time for your food to come out takes awhile be ready to wait or order ahead to go. So the food was delish. I have been to this establishment at least 25 times and always have great service especially when Pauletta is my server, she's eXtremely efficient, friendly and professional. The food is reliable and tasty, I really love the all you can eat wing bar thaT runs Monday- Friday at lunchtime... would be nice if they offered that occasionally during some dinner shifts too, I know I'd enjoy that.. some favorites: Steel tOwn spuds, the MilE High Nachos, their juicy burgers and of course the Bone-In wings are consistently great tasting. July 15, 2018 - If you are expecting fast service avoid this place at all costs. We were in Johnson City for a baseball tournament. We had a party of about 25 people. The place was not busy at all. We ordered our food at 11:29, and at 12:36 we had to leave - with no lunch - to get to our next game. I understand restaurants have challenges sometimes with staffing. But, when every single other table in the establishment gets their food - even after coming in later than your table - that is unacceptable. The one star, is simply for looking at the other plates of food being delivered. It at least did look and smell good. Very poor service with timing and even the manager said our food was in the window 30 minutes prior to us leaving. Today was not this place's finest hour. read more

So it all started whenever I called the place. First spoke to a woman it was a little after 10 pm, she asks what I wanted- I tell her- then she says they didn't have the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich so then I requested the Chicken Fajita Wrap, and she says they do have it. As I continue ordering, she interrupts me and says NO we don't have that either because it's the "late menu" well okay I didn't know, she could've told me that and had some knowledge about what she's saying to me first. So I tell her I'll call back so my wife and I can look at the wings and sauces. Called back 3 times and never got an answer. 4th time was the charm i suppose. The guy who answered was EXTREMELY RUDE! He literally told me they wouldn't let me get a few slices of tomatoes due to not having a button on the cash register to ring them up and that "everything has to be accounted for." Are you serious!?! Wow!! We ended up getting 6 boneless, 12 hot traditional wings and a side of fries....$28!!!! What the crap!?! We drive over to get our order as they rush around telling us NOTHING while we waited 20 more minutes additionally for our food that was SO expensive...that wasn't even the concern. There were BARELY 5 groups of people in that place and they rushed us!! When we got home FINALLY, only to find we did not get the RANCH with our WINGS we repeatedly made sure "was in the bag" and our Celery was left out of BOTH boxes. We went on a Friday night and were told here was a 45 minute wait even though there were empty tables and only 4 people on the wait list. We were told that the kitchen was behind and they wouldn't seat us until the kitchen okayed it. We waited and watched other parties get sat. We checked back and the hostess said it was another 30 minutes. I've never seen a restaurant with a policy like this, especially in a sports bar where some people just want drinks and apps. So weird! This is one of my favorite wing places in town. I usually come for the unlimited wings from 11-2 through the week which is a deal you can't beat. Plenty of wing flavors to choose from I recommend the garlic or garlic parm. They have good salads as well they are very large and good burgers. Service is usually great except a couple of times I have received subpar at best service from a couple. They have food and alcohol specials for different days and times. First, I'd like to start off and say that this was my favorite place to go and hang out. The BEST karaoke nights, some of the best bands, most(not all) of the staff are wonderful and considered friends and most of the regulars are great! This was our spot to meet up with friends 10-40 of us to eat, drink, dance, and have fun. Well, this changed about 5 months ago with some staffing changes, which we understood, but disagreed with. False accusations and smear tactics. I had e-mailed then in regards to that, my birthday mishaps as that became a nightmare(now I know why), etc. There have been issues with keeping wait staff and pleas for experienced servers to apply. Which, I always found odd being a college town, as there are always servers looking and you can train/teach 10 steps of service relatively easily. To the issue at hand that I have been hoping would be handled from within, which it started to. On Jan 31st my son was in a small car accident about 15 minutes after I got to WW, so I was walking outside a few times to take calls. I only had 1 drink. I ordered a Svedka Cherry and RedBull single tall like I always do. Around 11:30, maybe an hour after I got there, I gave my card to our server so I could get to my next stop. I walked to meet her at the register to save on time. I was charged $11.34 for a $6.75 drink, so I say, ummm, I think there was a mistake or a beer on here that wasn't mine. She looks, and the register said extra pour $3. I never received a double or a 2oz pour as I use to drink them, and always needed extra redbull to dilute it a little, and I haven't had doubles in maybe 6+ months. She says, it's not a problem, I'll get S to take it off. Ok, no problem. S asks me what happened, I explain, and even pulled J over to confirm how I order my drinks. A few mins later S walks outside with my card irritated, so I follow. S proceeded to scold me about servers and how I need to learn how to talk to his staff, how he was tired of servers crying or refusing to wait on me or say I cussed them when I have never cussed a server waiting on me. I stayed more in shock through this. He still vents on saying how he's tired of changing the floorplan based upon where I might be that night, as I'm a regular, as certain servers refuse to wait on me. Going off on I don't care how much money is spent, who I bring in, who I help keep in, etc. then repeats that I need to learn to speak to his staff, and said that I have never spoke inappropriately to him. He is still heated and I'm still calm, trying not to cry in shock. I reaffirm that I have never cussed said server or any others that waited on me. Yes, I am an alpha female and there can be personality conflict love/hate and such. Just like in any workplace not everyone will get along. I say, I don't work there, I'm a customer, if someone doesn't want to wait on me or the group, that's on them. I have never heard of managers allowing servers to dictates which sections they get or don't get. As I'm receiving all of this I come to where I needed to leave or I was going to bust out in tears. I ask for my card. Say that I will never come back, say bye to my friends and walk out the front. As soon as I exited the building I cried, as not 2 weeks prior for Prince a different manager R was very nice and accommodating willing to make things work with special needs parties after a disaster at Smokeybones which was really nice. Felt valued and appreciated. After 1/31, was devastated. Cried on and off all night. My son approaches S on Thursday 2/6 at karaoke as his cousins host it, and said that I was wanting an apology, he says he'll try. Two nights later S approaches me in another establishment to apologize. I appreciated his apology, but I wanted more of an apology than a beer loud apology. I wanted to feel appreciated and valued by WW, which at this point, just felt as though I was shit on. He and I spoke more, then asked if I cried, as I hardly ever cry. I gave him a look, and then my eyes watered up. I was like you need to go, as I needed space. I hate crying and even moreso hate crying in public. He stopped the conversation and we were standing by a cocktail table in a pool hall N about 75 feet from the doors. Manager E was there as well. Maybe 2 mins later one of the servers T from WW that has NEVER waited on me and I have never spoken a word to storms through the door at N arms flailing up in an angered rage shouting "I'm gonna beat your ass! You and your damn purse!" I shout back, "stay the F away from me!" Didn't matter as much as I don't think she made it 20 feet inside the building as 3-4 security guards kicked her out the doors. I turn to S and my group including E maybe 6-8 of us and 100-200 people inside the pool hall, I had my arms like what did I do?!!? we all were perplexed and I don't knows. Very disappointing experience tonight. Several open tables with plenty of room to seat our party when we came in- but we were told that the kitchen won't allow any tables to be seated if they are behind. Meanwhile, we watch 3-4 tables get seated while we wait and none of them are showing up as ahead of us on the wait list mobile link they provide us. We continue to see that we are second in line for some time. The hostess gives us an explanation that the other tables were on the wait list ahead of us (assuming a different wait list? Some imaginary second wait list not connected to the app?). Even more bizarre is that at least two of the parties walked in while we waited. We left after close to 45 mins. Went this afternoon for lunch with a friend and we were helped by Carmela G. and she was absolutely wonderful! I've been coming to this location, living in Johnson City, for a while because the food is always great the beers always cold and the waitstaff and bartenders are amazing. Even during COVID when I didn't eat at the restaurant I would probably order takeout two or three times a month to get great wings. Great restaurant highly recommend it. read more

Was so excited to pick up some buffalo wings. After getting drenched on a bike ride, hot wings, fries, and beer sounded perfect. We did a take out order because of COVID, and did 30 wings with some different sauces. Fifteen of the thirty wings were ordered as either medium or hot buffalo. Not a single wing had any buffalo sauce on it. I'm not sure what the others were because they were all dumped together and kind of indistinguishable as a ginger garlic kind of combo. The chips we ordered, however, were swimming in buffalo sauce to the point of being a soggy mess. I don't expect food to be as fresh and hot in takeout as when we dine in, but it felt like no attention whatsoever was paid to our order and we ended up spending $60 on inedible chips and a bunch of subpar wings, none of which were prepared as ordered. read more

Came here before and it was good food but service was not great. Decided to give another try and brought 5 clients with me on a Saturday night. Came in, no people waiting, about 6 open dirty four top tables. I watched for 20 minutes while many servers passed by slowly and never cleaned them. The waitress told me that we had to wait cause the kitchen was busy. The servers looked to be quite free and not that busy. So my complaint here is about optics. Open tables , and we had to wait cause they don't sit people at tables cause the kitchen is too busy. I know they aren't turning away to go orders. Open tables and slow servers is just a bad look when the place is able to seat more with many Open tables. They said they weren't short staffed either . First visit to a Wild Wing Cafe in Johnson City, TN on 9/4/22. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated (not bad, we had 9 in our party) and seated at 8:15pm. We got our drinks-teas and water. About another 20 minutes before order was taken. I just wanted potato soup, I was told there was no more. Ok, so I ordered the Philly Steak sandwich with grilled veggies--they were out of grilled veggies. So I got onion rings. My husband and one other wanted burgers, they were out of burgers. Finally everyone ordered "something". Over an hour later, they brought out the first food item--a salad. Then one by one, it started coming--then, two of the people in our party was told there was no more mac and cheese---it was now about 9:45pm!!! I still did not have my onion rings, and my sandwich was a bit dry and not much on it. Another in my party got wings that looked very burnt--the waitress said it was the rub on them, however, they were dry as a bone on the inside and crunchy on the outside. A child in the part got the kids pizza, it was the last thing brought out and it was doughy and just a little bit of cheese on top--not very appetizing at all. The waitress finally came to "tell" me that my onion rings were just then put in the fryer!!!! We had been seated for ALMOST TWO WHOLE HOURS!!!! I'm pretty sure onion rings take less than 5 minutes to cook---they were just then putting them down?!? I told her to just forget it by then, it was late and we were all TIRED OF WAITING!! It wasn't even that busy, a lot of empty tables. The waitress knew we were very upset (by the way, the waitress was great, not her fault at all), we did not ask for one, but she brought the manager out. The first thing the manager said was that she wasn't told they were out of a lot of stuff when she came in for her shift. Really?? She's the manager, the one in charge. She should have inventoried the place when she got there and checked herself to see what they had and didn't have. She was blaming everyone else but herself---she was the one in charge, the manager. Patrons should have been told that "we are out of burgers or may run out before your order is fixed"---at least give a heads up before making them wait---and then keep coming back with more items that are not available!! I would have at least wanted half the price taken off our ticket, but the one good thing that was done was the manager did not make us pay for anything. I do appreciate that. However, the service was horrible, and the food that was received was not high quality at all. I don't care if there was no food, it was late at night, or whatever---there is no reason for customers to be treated that way and waste time---we could have just gone somewhere else to eat if they had told us up front what the problem was, or that they were short staffed and only had part of the kitchen open. I understand things happen, but don't make the customers be the ones to pay. I know I won't go back. It just left a bad taste in my mouth, in more ways than one. read more

Visited this location Saturday night. The place was busy and the gentleman host said we could sit at the ledge, or wait 45 minutes for a table. We took the ledge offer, he handed us menus, told us to seat ourselves, and someone would be with us. After waiting 15 minutes and unsuccessfully attempting to get a waiter/waitress' attention, to at least take our drink order, we decided to just leave. My last visit was not good either. We waited almost 20 minutes to pay our bill. When I walked to the host area (where a register is located), I was told I had to wait at my table for our waitress to pick up the bill and card. After another 10 minutes the waitress finally picked up our bill and card, but she was in no hurry to return with our receipt. If not for the wings being good, I wouldn't have given them 2 stars. read more

(4 in a restaurant with about 50 tables) probably not the most family friendly place, but it was still good.. not sure about the wing complaints from other reviewers, ours have always been fresh and tasty. Third and last time back. First time we eat there we ordered chicken taco from a special promotion menu and they were fantastic. Second and third time back there wasn't any special promotion menues and we ordered from the regular menu. We both got chicken sandwich and I got fries and my partner got onion rings. Service was extremely slow. The both chicken sandwich's were extremely big and not cooked thru onion rings were burnt and fries were cold. We sent them back and quickly got replacements.
