The environment is inviting and laid back where you can have a beer and play slots while enjoying your wings. Me and my co-workers go there every week. Just note that the wings are pricey, but this is due to the quality of the chicken that they purchase (organic non-GMO) and the size. The chicken is never frozen and it's fresh. Well, I sort of had a dual purpose for going. I thought they had 2 of my most favorite things (slots and ramen - not necessarily In that order ). Well when I got there, they had 1 of the 2. Can you guess which? If you guessed ramen, you're wrong. They stopped serving food when COVID hit or around COVID. I was bummed to say the least because per Yelp, they had some pretty decent ramen. I finally made it here over the weekend and really enjoyed my 6 Mama So Secret wings. I will say that the wings were really good as everyone says but the fries really stood out for me because they were so uniquely fried. They're crispy, but there's also a little chew to them that's hard to described. After they're fried, they're tossed in a wok with the toppings. Even my side fries were drizzled with ketchup, ranch, green onion and some other tasty bits. And yes, David the owner was a very funny and likable guy. It was funny walking in and seeing the owner being super chill and down to earth and cracking jokes with me and some of the other guests, who were total regulars. He kind of reminded me of Mitch Hedberg when he spoke. A bit disappointed that they didn't have rice, but totally happy that they had my pickled radish. I'm a fan of this place. I actually thought this place was meant to be mainly a place to eat with a small area for gambling but once I got in there it was the other way around with about 5 machines for gambling and 2 tables and a bar area to eat. They had a wide selection of beer and some Asian beers I was unfamiliar with. I ordered the wings and some fries with a couple different sauces and the meal also came with some spring roles. The wings were large and had a lot of sauce, the spring rolls and fries were good, no real complaints about either. The lady taking my order was nice and welcoming as well. What is making this a lower star review is there was a funky smell in the place that I couldn't put my finger on but it kind threw me off. I'm gonna have to say the wings here are better than Great Seas in the city. We tried a few flavors and all were outstanding. They do it right. I recommend the Wa Bone in Pork Belly. It's simply outstanding, spicy and flavorful. They deep fry the bone-in-pork and then bake it in the oven for a nice char. It's mixed with fried kimchee and fries. It's a 15 Min wait but totally worth it. You could share it with another person if you get some wings. I downed it solo just cuz I can... Check this place out. Long day at the office and my friend and I hadn't had a chance to stop even for lunch. Hit up this spot on a whim and despite almost driving right past it, glad we stopped. Don't let the lack of storefront space fool you, this place has sauce. It seemed newer - the guy who owns the place is definitely eager to get the menu out to guests. Think we got a taste of half of it! The fries packed a ton of flavor, wings were great, we tried a handful of different awesome fruit drinks (I don't normally like sweet and these were good), and even the radishes were tasty. Ambiance is certainly laid-back and there were a few folks kicked back to play the slots. I would say it's a place for adults; great for eating with your hands and kicking back with friends. In town for work and decided that wings sounded good. The reviews were positive, so decided to give this place a try. Stopped in and the owner (David) told me that wings are only available Tues-Sat and the only thing on the menu on Monday is ramen. I was a little bummed, but being hungry, I decided to give it a shot. So David started cooking and my mouth started watering from the aromas. When he brings me my bowl (which was the size of my head) and I dove in, I was thankful that the wings weren't available. Saying it was delicious wouldn't do it justice. Hands down, one of the best things I've ever eaten. I'm going back tomorrow, because if the wings are even 1% as good as the noodles he threw down, they'll be the best ever made. And while you're there, try his dessert of the month. This time was a banana bread topped with cheesecake, honey, and toasted sesame seeds. I'm so full I'll have to roll myself to bed tonight. We went to the restaurant on Saturday afternoon for late lunch near Oakbrook mall. When we walked in, we could see the place was tastefully decorated with nice abstract paintings ( later we found out the owner painted them himself) and mirrors and has a very different ambience from most fried wing places. It seems that the owner makes everything from scratch. After we waited about 10 minutes or so, our two types of wings and Kimchi fries were served with 3 side dishes, Kimchi, and pickled radish and ginger. The wings with Mama So's secret sauce and Kanpoongi, tasted phenomenal. I am not a big fan of deep fried food, but since everything was made fresh from the kitchen right after our order, it didn't taste greasy at all but had a fresh crispy taste. Also the side dishes came with the wings and it seemed to cut down the oiliness of the fried food even more. Kimchi fries with special tasty red sauce is beyond description and I highly recommend you to try it. Spring rolls were very addictive and I could have finished ten of them at one spot. At the restaurant, you really can taste authentic home made Korean wings, which is neither overly sweet nor spicy and can try other Korean rice and cocktail soju drinks at very reasonable prices. We can't wait to go back to try the wings and Kimchi fries again even though it is a pretty long trip for both of us because we don't mind a long trip for very good quality authentic Korean wings. read more

What a random find, with our recent love for Korean food- we had a crazy craving for kimchee fries. The menu boasts about about clean food handling, cleaning, and service. So as I was driving back to my hotel I saw this place and knowing the great reviews I read on Yelp prior, I pulled in. I was the only customer as the owner was closing up shop. He offered me to sit and have a cold one. After just a few minuets I loved the place and the owner. We were listening to great music and having a good time. I was reluctant to go in but people in Westchester have been raving about this place, so I took myself to lunch. I am so glad I did. I walked in, was warmly greeted by the owner, David, who was already preparing my food like he was expecting me. There was another customer there who even offered me tastes of his food. When does that ever happen? I had the spring rolls and 6 boneless strips with the Mama So Secret sauce and pickled daikon. All delicious, flavorful food. Spring rolls were crispy on the outside and creamy inside. The chicken was nice and tender and juicy and the sauce was perfect. I can't wait to go back and try everything else on the menu. I like how friendly and welcoming the owner is especially for a woman dining alone. I like that he cares about the ingredients and sources the chicken from a local farm. Westchester needs more places like this with unique offerings. The prices are great and the servings are very generous. I didn't think a good Korean wing joint existed in the west suburbs but I'm glad I was wrong! I ordered 20 wings and fries from here as I was on my way home from work. I was quoted an hour long wait but it ended up being a bit longer than that. This is a "hole-in-the-wall" kind of place, so I think ordering take was equivalently as casual as dining here would have been. The fries are so addicting! They're thick AND crispy! There's a light batter on them that gives them some light seasoning and crisp them up without being too overbearing. When David made my wings he accidentally made them all in Mama So's sauce and offered to coat half of them again with the kampongi sauce- which is what I had originally ordered.I think double coating them in sauce actually made them taste even better- I personally love thick, coagulated sauces and intense umami flavors when it comes to wings. What a gem! Seriously, If I could give this place 7 stars I would. The whole experience exceeded every expectation I had about this place, and I love Korean wings so I had high expectations to start. Let me paint this picture for you: I walked into the restaurant, planning to meet up with a buddy after work to grab some wings and a beer. My first impressions weren't overly impressed. There are 4 slot machines on the right wall and then a couple tables and a bar with about 6 seats. Decor is typical of a bar. But as I walk through the door, the owner calls me over to the bar and says "hey man, come try these wings. They will blow your mind" and he just drops 3 wings in front of me doused in the Mama So Secret sauce with a side of kimchi. Didn't have to pay, didn't have to ask. I felt like I was being invited into his house. While waiting for my buddy to show up I perused the menu, ordered a beer, and made some small talk. About 10 minutes later, as my friend walks in; the owner calls my friend over and we get a great conversation going for 2 hours on life, working hard, what it means to be successful, and side hustles. While this conversation is going on we decided to split a chicken wings basket with 2 sides, and weren't initially planning on getting fries but he was insisted so we deferred to him. Am I glad that we did. His kimchi fries really are something else. It's hard for me to say if we liked the fries or the chicken more, but we both loved them. If you are interested in this sort of thing, we talked to him about how he makes his food, and he was telling us that everything is fresh and locally sourced. He can even name the farms where the chickens and potatoes and veggies come from. With our wings, we split them into 2 sauces (Kampongi and the Mama So Secret), both were freaking delicious but I think I liked the Kampongi the best. Its got that perfect blend of sweet, salt, fat, and spice. The guy is a genius. TLDR: Overall, I can't speak highly enough about this place. Ive been going here since they opened. The food is very good, However, it's happened several times where I called to place an order and the kitchen somehow isn't open. I even called once and they said they ran out of chicken and this was on a Sunday at 11:30 a.m! The wings are breaded in a similar way to traditional Korean wings and are sufficiently marinated in the sauces of your choosing! The Dragon's Breath wings were spicy hot and had that awesome Korean chili flavor I had been craving since spending a lot of time in the West Suburbs! The sweet potato fries are also great fresh and reheated. The wings were top-notch; Mama So's secret sauce has this gochujang (korean chili paste) flavor that punched me in the mouth. It's crisp, fries are crisp, everything's crisp. I think he uses some sort of potato starch mixture to add that crunch to everything. Solid joint, fun as heck to dump some money into the slots too! You're just gonna have a good time.
