After driving by this establishment a dozen times and hearing about it from someone who lives nearby, I finally stopped in. 3-4 visits later, I'm writing a review. In terms of ambiance, it's a decent sized restaurant, When you enter, the bar and video poker are to the left and traditional seating is to the right. In the seating area, there's a chalk board filled with daily specials and featured items. If that isn't enough, there's an extension menu with something for any palette. Food is always amazing! We usually sit at the bar and Tif and Lauren have always given great service even when busy. Typical bar atmosphere with the glow of the gambling machines making you think it's still daylight. Party room is a decent size and is just secluded enough. I took the family here for Mothers Day. First time for all of us. The owner greeted us as we walked in and gave my mom and wife a flower. He personally sat us at our table. Our server, Deanna, took over from there. She was great, from start to finish. Food service was exceptional. Drinks always filled, and between the bus boy and the waitress, the empty drinks and plates never sat for a minute. The food is outstanding. We are already talking about going back soon. They are hit or miss..Some things are ok..Some not ok..Sausage and peppers is very good...Giambotta with chicken could be ok if the chicken was cooked.. Half of it was raw..Pasta dishes are all right. Not bad but nothing over the top..There is no garlic taste anywhere on any dish with garlic..It seems they have a 50% average of messing up.. It is hard to read their specials because they are on one blackboard a 100 feet away from most of the room. So most likely you will not know the specials ..And if you ask the waitress what they are..Her response is,,"there are just too many to tell me" The service is very slow when the place is busy.. Oh and they love mushrooms..So you are going to get them weather you want them or not..So if you do not love mushrooms,do not eat here..I enclosed a picture of my chicken giambotta..I asked if I could have it without mushrooms. The server said "yes of course" Well enclosed is a picture of just the mushrooms I picked out of my dish. I could not get them all..Raw chicken, extra mushrooms, no garlic, no specials..And I paid for it and tipped because I am dumb ..I tried the place three times.. Had a great experience at Village Pub! It was a bit of a slow Sunday but the service was very attentive. The waitress gave us excellent reccomendations. We ordered chicken saltimboca and chicken piccante. It was so tasty that I forgot to take a picture until I was half way through! The portions were HUGE and the chicken was very tender and flavorful. How have I never been to this gem before? Popular with the locals, and my sister has heard many good things about Village Pub. From the outside the building is basic. But don't let it fool ya. When you walk in it's a very nice bar and dining area. Plenty of parking, and there is street parking available too. We came on karaoke night so it was packed. Good thing they take reservations too! We started out with some martinis, calamari and bruschetta. The calamari was so so tender with a nice crispy bite, not greasy at all. The marinara sauce was different. It was served cold and on the sweet side, but I loved it! Hit it with lemon juice and it's a delicious bite. The bruschetta was fresh and served on a warm garlic toast. Though I could do without olives in it. I'm ok picking it out. Main meals were piccata chicken and linguine, sea bass and potatoes, and rigatoni vodka with grilled chicken. Piccata chicken was crispy and juicy, but just a tad on the salty side. The lemon sauce that laced each noodle was luscious. The sea bass was tender and so flavorful with lemon butter drizzle. Potatoes were cooked just right too. I'm a fan of vodka sauce, and their sauce did not disappoint. Creamy, rich, and a hint of vodka. Rigatoni was al dente, and the grilled chicken was tender but a bit salty. Finished off our meals with homemade tiramisu. It was delicious but the lady fingers were heavily soaked in Kahlúa so we mostly ate the top layer. Service here is fantastic and very attentive !! Our waitress Natalie was quick and always checked in on us. We had several employees also just stop by and clean our table without even asking them to and made sure we had everything we needed. Can't say enough about the food and the staff here!!! The food is fantastic and the staff is attentive and helpful. Had our company Christmas party there and had Steven as our server and he was amazing !!! Stayed on top of everyone at the party making sure everyone had what they needed. George the owner always checking in and making sure all was smooth. We will continue to have our parties there every year and order for our special events. I just hosted a bridal shower at the Village Pub and it was wonderful. They let me come in 2 hrs ahead of time to decorate. We had a private room with an outdoor space that we didn't make use of because it was so hot out. The service was phenomenal and the food was excellent! I used to come here somewhat regularly as it's close to my office but working from home the last three years I don't get here too often. While the prices have gone up, a bit more than similar type restaurants, the food is good. The portions are huge so would like to see a bit smaller portions at a smaller price. Had the soup of the day, being a chilly rainy day, the minestrone was excellent, tasted like my Nonna's homemade soup. The half garbage salad was still too big. Others in our group got pastas and sandwiches which all enjoyed and took home leftovers. It's a pub so not much more to say about the ambiance but menu specials are on a chalkboard which is fun to look at. Our server, a longtime employee, was kept busy with fourteen of us. Went to Village Pub for dinner tonight. Our server Tiffany was friendly and very personable. Tiffany checked on our table multiple times to see if we needed anything. Ordered the baked clams, a new menu item spinach artichoke dip, the rigatoni with garlic aioli (dinner comes with soup or salad) and everything was delicious. I've been here many times and have never been disappointed. My biggest decision is what to get because everything is so good. Love the atmosphere and the employees. I was the village pub with my wife and from the minute we walked in we were greeted by friendly host . I used the bathroom and was so impressed on how clean it was. So I had visited the Village Pub basically celebrating my birthday and my nephews wife's birthday with my sister. Fast forward we lost my nephew and sister in the span of three years. So we are members if Brookfield Zoo and went for Zoo Lights Brought my daughter granddaughter and my wife. Granddaughter is 9. When we pulled up she said I don't want to eat here. We said give it a chance. So we were seated right away and she orders the salmon. Nice choice. She demolished it along with broccoli. She wants to know when we are going back. The outside looks decieving for the delicious food inside. What a solid little bar! Gotta be honest, this is where my husband comes when he is meeting his friends to talk about baseball. We happened to be on this side of town this last weekend and I was craving a Newcastle (one of my all time favorite brews). My husband mentioned that "The Village" carries Newcastle and I was in. When I think of a Chicago bar, this is exactly what I picture in my head. Tiffany stained glass features, lots of whiskey, Italian food menu, and a bartender than seems to know your name even when this is the first time you visit. Been having lunch at this restaurant for many many years. But since the new owner took over the prices have definitely increased. Had lunch the other day with a coworker and ordered an item on the menu Ive ordered many times before, the Chicken Marsala with a side of pasta. On their menu they list several different types of pastas to pick from. There was a new pasta called Pappardelle pasta so I thought I'd give it a try. When I received my bill, the restaurant charged me an additional $4.00 for this certain type of pasta. I questioned it with our server who asked the Owner who said that that pasta is an up charge. WHAT??? It doesn't state that anywhere on the menu and WHO charges more money for Pappardelle pasta. This was an undisclosed, misleading and fraudulent fee. This is what you call scamming the customer! You can bet this will be reported as an unfair and unclear charge to the public. I will not be going back and I will make sure everyone knows what this owner is doing to the consumer. Also, he needs to keep in mind, his prices are too high. He's not in Oakbrook! read more

We moved to this area 4 years ago, from Chicago, and people kept recommending the Village Pub. We gave it a try... 3 times and were always so disappointed. After being spoiled with Chicago dining for 7 years, we so badly wanted to find a local restaurant with great quality. You could have called us "food snobs". Well we haven't been there since March 2020, as it was our last dining experience, pre-pandemic. We recently saw they are under new ownership and decided to give it a go. We went yesterday and I would love to share my review: Upon sitting down and opening the menu, we did consider leaving. It's not cheap and there was no kids menu, though the pastas were offered to us in 1/2 portions. If my son had not agreed to the pasta, we would have been stuck. The ambiance had not changed and still felt like a pub. I didn't want to pay $30 for "bar food". We were skeptical from the start, given our previous experiences. I ordered the basic spaghetti and meat sauce to save $ and to share with my son. My husband ordered the cavatelli. Each came with a choice of soup or salad. Salad seemed the safe choice and was... salad, however the blue cheese dressing was surprisingly delicious, possibly house-made? I didn't think much of it, at first, but was grateful for the olives since my son loves them. Bread had also been initially supplied to the table and as per usual, bread is almost always welcomed. I did appreciate the oil/Parmesan option for dipping. When our entrees came, we braced for the first bites. Shock flooded our faces. I never order spaghetti... especially not for $20. It's much too basic and it's "kids food". I can make it easily at home so why bother at a restaurant? But oh my... the spaghetti with meat sauce was quite a surprise. The flavor was on point. The meat to sauce ratio was right up my ally. The noodles were done to my liking. Such a simple food, yet so perfectly done. My 5 year old was likewise impressed and gobbled it happily. My husband was quite equally enamored with his Cavatelli and we were both taken-aback when we realized that his pasta was... "gasp"... fresh?!?! Could it be? Real, fresh pasta, at the Village Pub? My husband is much more picky about food than I. He's the real chef in our family and claims to know about such things. He not only enjoyed his food, he raved about it. Sooo much cheese, perfect flavor of sauce, fresh noodles cooked to al dente perfection. Who knew we had such amazing Italian food just 3 blocks from our home? As for the $20 pasta... was it worth it? I'd appreciate a fancier atmosphere for that price but the food was definitely that of fine dining. We will most definitely be returning and look forward to trying the other fare... but perhaps as a date night until they consider a kids menu.
