Rick is our usual tech and he is the nicest, most professional and knowledgeable tech. He even worked on a day he had dental surgery! So 2 days ago, the worst happene. I woke up to my thermostat reading 82 degree. I was certain it would be days with this heat wav. I called and was shocked to find out they would be here in a few hour. A young man named Chase showed up and despite having to work in the furnace room in the basement , about 6 by 8 feet, he never complained, and figured out immediately it was a blown motor. He explained everything to me and let me know he needed to run to the shop and grab a new one and would be back in about 20 minutes. It was 104 outside. I was freaking out bc I have health issues and one of my dogs has an airway problem and heart failur. He was back in on 26 minutes and we had cool air within 3 hours of it blowing! We are on a maintenance plan with them and have been since we moved back home here 10 years ago and have always been thrilled. And Chase by the way , was so respectful and hard working I had to force him to take a bottle of water and as he was leaving he said "oh you have an Amazon delivery!" i knew it was a box about 50 lbs and he grabbed it for me and carried it inside for me. I discovered a flooded basement on a Friday afternoon after a heavy rain that continued for days. Calloway Restoration came out right away and verified the water was flowing in from the sump and the sump pump was not running and all of the emergency 24 hour plumbers were booked through the weekend and I had to stop the rising water and replace the pump ASAP so that we could start removing standing water, carpets and drywall and start drying out with fans before mold set in. Max answered first thing Saturday morning and was sympathetic to my needs even though I was not an existing customer when may people were in dire need for similar situations. He sent Jake out within the hour and he stayed as long as it took to replace my sump pump and evaluate and clean out the discharge line to keep more water from coming in the basement. Jake showed me what to look out for to keep the pump from getting damaged and keep water out of the basement until they could return to complete the work after taking care of the critical repair to get water pumping out of my basement before the next big rainfalls in the forecast. They returned the following week to complete and underground discharge line repair and extension and to clean gravel from the check valve and finish sealing up the sump/radon fan pit and confirmed optimal function of the primary and battery backup sump pump. They helped me out in my time of need and I never felt like they took advantage in any way with fair pricing and prompt and excellent service. I had been looking for a good go to plumber with leas than optimal service from past plumbers and Hofmeyer Max Plumbing definitely fits the bill and will be my go to plumber from here on and I would not hesitate to recommend them to any friends and family and I am grateful that they were recommended to me. He replaced the wax ring. Service time was 90 minutes. The total price which I accepted was $600. I had Googled what a job like this should be and I got a $95 to $125 per hour range and $25 to $50 for haul away. Nick gave me the price and the option to pay just $99 and elsewhere for another quote. Yes - I took the quote but I just wanted to get the job done. So $200 for the toilet and $600 (90 minutes) to install. I was ignorant in hindsight but positive in warning others not to make the same mistake with SK ludicrous rates.

He's ALWAYS on the other end of the phone to trouble shoot. If it can be avoided that you don't have to pay for a service call, he will do everything in his power to make this happen. Most companies won't talk to you on the phone to help you fix a problem. They only want to come to your home so they can be sure they are benefiting $$ One time I called thinking I had a major issue and called and asked to schedule him to come out (I had already budgeted it into my expenses for the week) after 20 min on the phone, and Bruce walking me through many things..... I just needed to change the batteries in our thermostat. If we were to use another company, we would have paid for them to come out and an hour of work for batteries! Called 5/27 (1 week after they came out) 3 times and left a message saying I still haven't received a quote (and all before the supposedly closing time). Called 5/28 to follow up on the message I had left the day before and talked to Chelsea who said they were busy - asked for a refund at this point because even though I'm an existing customer and paid them $89 to tell me my AC needed something done, they couldn't be bothered to give me prices. Was told I would be given a call back. On 5/29, I called 4 times after not hearing anything (could not get a person on the phone so I left a message) but had my boyfriend call who was able to get someone on the phone (I have a 614 # so pretty sure my call was being screened). On 6/1, I called from my office phone and talked to Julie who said she would follow up. 2 more calls later that day and was told that the owner said no refund, I would receive my estimates to which I said absolutely not, that is unacceptable and bad business. After hanging up, Julie called me back and said the owner would call me the next morning. No call received from the owner on 6/2. It's now been 2 weeks and not only will I not get my money back, the owner won't talk to me and I still have not received any quotes/estimates. Bad business model and awful communication. I get that I will have to wait but I have contacted better companies the day after for "2nd" opinions and they came out and gave quotes the same day! DO NOT RECOMMEND and I have contacted the credit card company and will be contacting BBB.

In the last five years, I've called these guys more than I've called my own parents. Clogged drains? Snaked. Garbage disposal sounding like a blender full of rocks? Replaced. Sink basin cracked in half like Moses parted it? Handled. Entire HVAC system wheezing its last breath? Ripped out and swapped like a bad organ transplant. If my house had a medical chart, Jolly Plumbing would be its full-time surgeon. I'm a member now--which basically means I've given up pretending my home is ever going to behave, and instead I've put Jolly Plumbing on speed dial like an overworked ER nurse. And let me tell you: every single time, they show up fast, fix the problem, and manage to do it all while being--you guessed it--jolly. Honestly, if Jolly Plumbing offered emotional support on top of plumbing, I'd be calling them during family holidays. 18 calls in 5 years, and I'm still not sick of them. That's love.
