These guys suck, they are a sheisty sheisty group. They "fixed" my heater unit in my 2003 mitsubishi lancer. All i needed was a knob removed and these jokers told me i needed a whole ac/ heat unit. So i told them ok and they found the part i needed in a junkyard and charged me $150 Come to find out they made the problem worse and told me to come back to get my knob turned to the A/C switch in the summer and THAT would cost $500.00 Horrible sheisty and unprofessional mechanics im not stupid and if your smart you will stay clear of this shady place! read more

This place is so great! Carlos is the best mechanic I've ever met! What I like about him is he looks at your car, he calls you to tell you what's wrong with it and then keeps it real with you and tells you what you really need and what can wait. I'm on a budget, and he really understood that. Much like he promised, he kept as close to the estimate as he could. I didn't have any surprise charges and he called me to let me know exactly what he was doing. Just a great guy the entire way around. He tends to be busy, it seems like he has made quite a name for himself in the a Woodbridge area - and for good reason. I brought my car to him after having a nightmare mechanic who put on a timing belt poorly and allowed my car to have an oil leak and did not mention it(You can read that review in my previous reviews). I don't want to give my boyfriend credit, but he kept telling me to take my car here and I honestly wish I had brought it sooner. I brought my '99 Honda Civic to Carlos, explained the noise and he literally diagnosed it in the same day. Before, I had taken my car to two other mechanics, Tire Mart and Aamco. Tire Mart didn't understand the noise I was speaking of and Aamco wanted me to pay nearly $1,700 to fix the issue. I left from Wildfire with everything I needed and saved $700 in comparison to Aamco. I think everyone who deals with Carlos needs to remember that English is not his first language, even though he has very little accent. I have had experiences where he doesn't fully get nuance, and I have tried always to speak as directly and clearly as possible. That's literally the only reason I can think for there to be negative reviews of his business - maybe communication issues? He has always been very honest and affordable for us. I've had him do everything up to an engine swap with no issues. I will add that there's the classic three criteria - cheap, good, and fast, you can have two and not all three - and generally he's the option where you don't get it fast, but I'm ok with that. He's also really willing to work with us on getting parts delivered to his shop, or otherwise shopping around for parts and saving money. To sum up, he's "our mechanic", we don't have another, and literally the only time I won't take a car to him is when I'm out of town, or on the rare occasion he says he doesn't do something (replacing a windshield is the only thing I've run into so far). read more

Dishonest. Can't properly diagnose issue, but replace parts anyway just to make money. Unfortunately this is the norm for a lot of mechanics & I've been taken by many over the years. This place came highly recommended by a friend, specifically for being honest. I did not find this to be the case & would NEVER go here again. Took my van in for an electrical issue- battery was draining. I'd go out in the am & it would be dead. Jump it and would run fine, next morn dead again. I told Carlos I want to sell this van so I don't want to spend a fortune, just please find the source of the draw. He assured me he had, replaced a bunch of stuff in the steering column/ignition module I believe. Fixed a misfire too & got it to pass emissions. I bring it home & 2 days later it's dead again. Fabulous! I called & told him the problem wasn't fixed & he said they'd have to do some more testing if I brought it back. When I asked how much that would be he said it depends on how long it takes, testing, etc. I said "I can't afford to spend anymore- already paid you $500.+ and the issue is not fixed. I shouldn't have to pay to find the REAL issue." So I hung up, irritated & feeling totally ripped off. I had to let the van sit for a while til I saved $ again to get it fixed. Took it to my regular mechanic (who is rather costly, but good) and found out the real issue today. The radio was not shutting off & draining the battery, as well as an alarm system that no longer works. So after disconnecting both of these the draw on the battery stopped. Problem solved. They figured this out in a day and it cost me half what Carlos charged. Lesson learned; Stick with who I know & trust & don't go somewhere else to try to save $$! Very costly mistake! Instead of saving I wasted about $400.+ Thanks Wildfire! So I'd have to agree with Gabe & Michael, they are dishonest. If you want to truly know what's wrong with your car & not wasted money, just lining their pockets, go somewhere else. I'd tell u my shop, but they are already so busy I don't wanna share, so it will be harder for me to get in. LOL. They are expensive, but very good! I will not stray again! Wildfire, you should be ashamed of yourselves. I'm so tired of dishonest mechanics. I don't know why this profession has such a reputation for dishonesty. People don't know who to trust anymore. I felt it was important to let people know this so as maybe to save someone else the headache & money. It costs too much to live here & I don't appreciate flushing my $ down the toilet. read more

It's a shame I can only choose five stars because Carlos deserves a hundred! Carlos was my mother's mechanic for 15 years and then mine since 2008. He always took care of my elderly mother with such kindness and now me! He is so honest and fair. He looks at my car and tells me what needs to be fixed and why. He also provides a price. He is so reasonable. When I had my ancient CRV he would tell me what repairs were absolutely necessary and what things could be put off for a bit. I have NEVER had an issue with a repair and neither did my mother. When I had a big issue with my old car he was honest with me, because of its age and the work that it needed he told me to consider replacing it. He could have easily kept me as a constant visitor! Now with my new CRV I don't see him but for oil changes and inspections. Thank goodness I have him. I never look at the expiration on that inspection! He saves me from a visit from a policeman. lol if you want the best mechanic you could ever find go to Carlos. His generous and kind nature is sometimes taken advantage of by rotten people as he tries to help everyone no matter their situation with their repairs. Question reviews who say bad things. Carlos was amazing, my car stopped running right and i was 10 hour from home. It was just my 5 year old daughter and i, and being in an unknown area i was a bit nervous. I was able to get to this garage and Carlos reassured me he could help. He made me feel so much better, was very kind and made me feel at home. He went above and beyond, checked all of my fluids while my car was in the shop and got me in within 15 mins :) My car had been fixed before i had gotten on the road and had an engine replacement at one garage and had also had all new suspension work and an oil change in NY before i left however both garages had failed to notice my transmission fluid was 3 quarts low which contributed to my car feeling like it was slipping on my was from NY to VA lucky for me Carlos found it before i left from VA to GA another 10 hours away or my transmission would have blew. He also installed a new battery mount for me and was very fair on the price! Thank you SO much for going above and beyond and checking everything before i left, i wouldn't have made it if it wasn't for great mechanics like you! wildfire is a big rip off! brought my son's car there for a diagnostic for a radiator. whne my son comes back carlos response was what's wrong now! that tells me he did something to it!! and when he picked it up there were things all of a sudden wrong with it!!! i hate dishonest mechanics!! i pray that his business suffers because of their dishonesty!! i'm back to working on my own car!! i hate dishonest mechanics! they pick and choose who they screw over!!! read more

Do not go to this crooked shop! Carlos the owner and mechanic lied about the cost to change our front brakes. Then once we talked with him we found out he only changed brake pads only on one side! That is a safety issue and not a proper way to fix brakes. Who does that????? His work was incomplete and his charges were switched on us. We even had to call the cops and threatened to sue just to get our car back. Do your self a favor and DONT GO TO WILDFIRE AUTOMOTIVE!!! Carlos will rip you off and your car will not be safe. read more
