Ordered new tires to the shop to get my old ones replaced but they put the wrong tires on. Waisted my time to go back and ruined my weekend schedule. I tried this auto shop on a Sunday after calling a week prior for an appointment. The fact that they are open on Sundays is a blessing. The waiting area is clean and the staff was professional. When I made my appointment it was Joe that scheduled me and when I arrived for my appointment it was Sade that checked me in. I didn't wait for my car but they completed the work as if I was there waiting on it. Upon completion they called to let me know that my car was ready. I had the state inspection, parking bulb replaced, headlight restoration, and windshield wipers replaced. I mentioned all of this to one of my neighbors and she mentioned that they are under new management As of right now, I say give them a try if you need a mechanic or inspection. This is an easy place to get your state or emissions inspection done. The lines can be long especially at the end or beginning of the month but that seems to be the standard at all locations. The staff is pretty friendly and seem to do a good job. The waiting room could use more chairs and tables, but they do have coffee/tea/chocolate drinks. They also have a small kid area. read more

Two weeks ago, I called a Meineke shop about getting a VA State Inspection done on a Saturday morning and was told fine, and it would be done in short order if I got there before they opened. Well, I was there an hour early and first one in but my car wasn't seen for over 2.5 hours! Told other cars had "appointments" and since I was a "walk-in" I just had to wait and wait and wait...finally, after those 2.5 hours, I walked out. Today, I went to Lake Ridge Auto Care as I know they have a dedicated line for VA State Inspections as I've had cars done in the past but I've moved about 40 minutes away now. I got up there on a Saturday morning at 5:45 AM for their 7 AM opening. Was first in line and, surprise, at 6:45 AM, Bob, comes up to take my car ahead of their 7 AM opening. He was done with the inspection even before the store's doors out front opened at 7 AM! I was finished even before the store opened. Paid inspection fee of $20 and was out the door at 7:04 AM. Recently contacted by Adam, a manager. Rehashed my experience, and Adam agreed and understood frustration and disappointment. Asked me to bring the Tahoe back, and he would replace the ABS controller at no charge, which is helpful. This will at least bring it back to safe working condition. Have not yet scheduled, as LRAC is .an hour drive from Leesburg. Will update and reevaluate after they complete the work. Hopefully they might reconsider the $150 fee and the redundant Brake Fluid Flush charge. They did earn an additional star though. On the right path forward! Thanks Adam. read more

Went in for oil change, they made several suggestions that amounted to roughly $3000 for the $13,000 car my kids use. Went back 3 months later for an inspection which they said the car failed, they told me it need $6000 in repairs. I looked at the bill and it included one of the items they said I needed AND PAID FOR under the FIRST $3000 bill. I complained they were padding the bill, a manager came out to calm the situation and they said it only needed, but TRULY needed, about $2700 of repairs. The cashier eventually said the "mistake" was that they hadn't noticed that the "requirements" had ALSO been made on the first bill. I argue that EITHER the "requirements" weren't REAL EITHER time, or they were never "requirements" but instead "suggestions" that they automatically add to the bill to see what you'll pay for. But either way, they added the surprise cost just because. They rushed the fix, "apologized" for the confusion of requiring again what they'd just required 3 months earlier, and hoped I'd come back for the next check up. I told the cashier they'd never see me again, took my keys and immediately drove to CARMAX and traded in the car ... THAT DAY. I haven't been back since and it's been a year. Now looking to get the NEW car inspected ANYWHERE BUT LAKERIDGE AUTO. ANY ... WHERE. No need to contact me or respond: I have the receipts, circled the offending costs, and the issue was addressed on the spot, that day I complained by sayin, "Oh ... our bad. We tried to charge you a second time for what we already got you to pay for 3 months ago. You weren't supposed to see that we just automatically add to the bill, so we've taken it off and gotten it down to what is actually necessary" ... or words to that effect. It's been a year and I won't return ... just wanted to add my 2 cents. The sad part is that I'd been going there for over a decade, and now I wonder if that was the FIRST time the bill had been padded. Whatever. Hope you others have a better experience, but I don't trust them, so ... that happened. read more

I took my car to this shop for new tires, an inspection, and oil change. These people sent me a text with inspection results, and pics of the inside of my car. Said it needed $4000 worth of repairs so it can pass inspection. I take my car to a shop in Burke and it passes inspection. To make it worse, when I picked up my car from Lake Ridge they lied and said that due to an issue with a rotor, they didn't do any inspection. Despite sending me a text with inspection results and $4,000 worth of "needed" repairs. This place is either fraudulent or grossly incompetent. Do not take your car here for any reason, even an oil change. Edit: a MONTH after my car has been inspected, it has finally been explained to me that they not actually do a state inspection on my car like I wanted. They did a "digital inspection" without telling me, then sent me a $3k estimate for things that were "areas of concern". I have absolutely no idea why they would perform a completely different service that I never asked for without telling me. They didn't explain what they did to my car until a month after the fact, and they did it via replying to my yelp review. Just be warned this shop will do things you didn't ask for without telling you, and they will frame it as "looking out for you" or a "curtesy". Crazy to me that I can bring my car in for a state inspection, they do a completely different service without telling me, and then they send me a text saying my car has been inspected. Seems deceptive to me. I will say Adam has reached out to me and been very polite, respectful, and tried to make things better. But it does not change the fact they performed a service I didn't ask for without telling me, then sent me a $3k estimate without explaining that they didn't ever do a real inspection, which was what I brought my car in for. read more

I had a scheduled appointment for 3 o'clock on March 24th when I brought my vehicle to have an oil change and state inspection with your business. When I arrived to drop my vehicle off for your services, I was greeted by a Caucasian lady whom said I was going to have to wait 20 to 30 minutes to get a ride home and I literally am just a couple of miles away from your establishment. I am disabled and had my service dog with me in a small dog backpack. I just wanted to go home. It annoyed me to be faced with getting an Uber after I had already asked in advance for transportation home. Ms. Sade (African American and might have a typo) I think she works and/or managed the garage? Thank goodness! She went above and beyond to make sure that I got home swiftly and without hesitation and you're so lucky to have her working for you. She's a gem! Also Christian, we're very customer oriented. Service was terrible, they don't take diagnosis from other shops so you'll have to pay for a diagnosis again regardless of what you want done, I came in for an alignment and they were too nervous to take my wheel off because they didn't like the way my tire rods looked. Nothing was wrong with them. They just thought it was too far out and didn't deal with it so I had to pay for a diagnosis before they'd be willing to touch it paid for the diagnosis got my alignment done Picked up my car in about 20 minutes later. The tire rods fell off because the technician forgot to put all the bolts back on. read more

I used to really like this place and always used them for repairs. Went this year to get my car inspected and an oil change and was given a $2500 estimate for "maintenance" since my car was around 50000 miles. Told the desk staff that I wasn't sure but possibly had some of this done at other points and then the receptionist argued with me and said "No you haven't". Then was told my brakes were in the "red" zone and needed immediate replacement ($1000) but that they couldn't do the service that day so would need to be dropped off for 24-48 hours. Couldn't afford that at the time so took my car home. Now, low and behold, went to another shop months later to get the brakes addressed and they aren't even low enough to need to be "urgently" replaced. Do not use Lake Ridge, they have turned into a sales based company just trying to push the most expensive bill possible and scam you into getting stuff done that doesn't need to be done. read more

I went in for a safety inspection on 8/1/2025. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The inspection officer rejected the vehicle for hazy headlights ($157 to restore) tag light out ($17.25 to replace) and exhaust leak which cost $94 just to diagnose. 2 days later I went to different shop to have worked performed and mechanic did not find an exhaust leak, didn't charge to diagnose and determined the headlights did not warrant rejection but will need restoration in 6 months to a year. He changed the tag bulb for $8 and charged $25 for exhaust diagnostic and the car passed inspection with flying colors. Beware of predatory auto repair shops. read more

I took in my company Highlander for an AC not blowing cool air problem & after a week of parts replacement, they still couldn't fix the problem? The bill for that work was $2800! They then asked me for another $1900 to replace yet another AC part with no guarantees? I finally said NO & cut my losses with a feeling of already being taken for paying $2800 just to get my car back without the AC being repaired? Still feeling like I was taken advantage of!!! I needed to have my passenger side mirror replaced on my older car. Adam took the time to locate the part for me. It was a challenge, he called me when it came in and made the appointment for me to have it replaced. When I brought my car in Hakim was very courteous and efficient getting me checked in . The service didn't take long. Kevin kept me informed throughout the process. My only concern is seating for people waiting. The available seating does not accommodate large or disabled people. I recently had my car in for an oil change. The staff was great, but I was surprised that there were 5 other things they recommended after their "complementary diagnostic" review. It would instill more trust if they would prioritize the items so I'm not hit all at once. The thing that really disturbed me was that there was a $115 for supplies such as rags and a floor mat. I don't know how it would be possible to have used that much! I'd like to suggest to corporate they have a flat fee for the supplies rather than applying a percentage to the total cost of the work. I hope they will make these changes, otherwise I will be looking elsewhere for my car maintenance needs. read more

I seriously would not recommend this place after my most recent experience. I have taken my cars here a few times in the past few years, for inspections and major repairs such as suspension and shocks, brakes, etc. Each time I felt that it was a bit overpriced but I knew the work would be quality and resolved quickly. Our 2013 Honda Accord was experiencing what we assumed was an electrical issue, so we took it here for an electrical diagnostic. They concluded that the timing chain was in need of replacement and not safe to drive, which was about 3 grand, and of course they tacked on as many other services as possible, saying they were also necessary to resolve the car's electrical issue. We sign off on 4K worth of repairs, which we know at this point are massively overpriced, but because we are desperate to get this car fixed, we approve the work, hoping this will be the end of it. We retrieve the car after about 4 days, and within ten minutes of our drive home, it's running worse than before we took it in. They take the car back from us and hear nothing for a day. I call back and ask for a status update and the employee informs us that the mechanic would not be available for another day or two to look at the car, but it should be completed by tuesday. We wait until wednesday and still have not heard anything, so I call back, the employee says that they need us to approve another 2 hours of labor to continue test driving the vehicle in order to further diagnose the issue. We really have no choice at this point so we sign off reluctantly. They finally tell us that the car's long block needs replacement, which is ANOTHER 4 grand quote. This is a used vehicle and the repairs needed literally exceeded what we owe on the loan. If they had just performed a thorough inspection the first time, and we had the hindsight of knowing that this was a major engine failure in addition to a timing belt replacement to resolve this "electrical issue", we would have traded in the car that day. It's not the employee's fault of course that the car was in need of this work, but I wish we did not have to spend so much money just to leave with a car that won't run. Of course the shop will not rebate any of the work done despite the car not functioning. I have to imagine for literally any make and model of vehicle, you would be about the same or maybe even better off financially taking your car to the dealership if it needs major repairs. This shop is just OK for oil changes and such, but again, still quite overpriced. read more

I came here to get my state inspection done. I came on a Thursday at 8am and I was the second car in line. I figured being the second car, it would be done quickly, but I sat waiting for a good hour for everything to get done. (A little slow but an hour at a auto shop isn't crazy) Once my car was taken in it took literally 10 min and I was done. $20. I will be returning in the future for my state inspection! Arrived and waited in the inspection line. A technician walked up in a timely manner and introduced himself as "Bob." He provided me instructions as far as registering in the lobby. Mr. Bob was absolutely professional, well-mannered, and courteous. He made the experience a walk in the park, no stress at all. This place rocks. Came here on a late Saturday afternoon since every other establishment in the area seems to close at 2pm for state inspections but not these guys!! Pulled up to the state inspection line and was immediately greeted by Tom who introduced himself and asked how he could help me. After explaining that I need a state inspection, he explained the process, told me I could wait inside and let the front desk know that Tom had my car. Easy enough. I was greeted at the counter by Keith, who was very outgoing and made the process seamless. Since this as my first time, he asked me for some identify information as he added me to their database and explained that the car should be done shortly and I would pay at that time. After about 15 minutes, Tom walks in the front door and tells me the car is finished. Easy breezy lemon squeezy. This was probably the fast inspection ever. I made my way back to the counter to pay, they take Apple pay too, plus plus!! So checkout was speedy. The waiting room was super clean with plenty o seating, snacks, water, coffee and even free koozies and plastic cups so you can rep the LRAC, giving them a little free promo. I like that they have compared to other local establishments, extended hours for emissions and inspections. Glad I found this place on a whim, who knew it was such an automotive gem. read more

Failed State Inspection due to a front brake pad and rear brake pad being below 2/32 (understandable with over 80K miles and OEM brakes). Immediately wanted $125 for a brake system inspection before scheduling replacement -- which struck me as odd. Although the fee is refundable if you get replacement brakes through them, why would I pay for another inspection when you just failed me? Quoted $1600 for replacing all pads and rotors, along with brake system flush and a second state safety inspection. I went to another shop on Caton Hill Road near Minnieville and Telegraph which completed the same job for around $800. It's unfortunate because this shop seems to be associated with Community Car Care in Annandale, where I've had years of positive customer experiences (they both use the same customer database). I will never return and encourage others to look at other local options. read more

I used LRA as a backup when I was in a bind or when my primary mechanic didn't perform the service (ie: tire services.) I brought my car in for my VA inspections and they said a wheel stud was broken. When I pointed out they replaced my tires and are the only shop that has touched my tires, they agreed to make the repair, but did give me pushback. (This is around a 2 hour job and $200 repair for parts & labor.) However, the front desk clerk first said *if* they could get to it, it wouldn't be until the end of the day. Then he said he needed to order parts. Something seemed off because a legit auto shop would have these parts, so I told them to call me when they got the parts in and left. I drove to Advance Auto, purchased the $9 worth of parts, then had a reputable shop look at it, and it turns out the wheel stud wasn't even broken and my car passed inspection. read more

Waited three hours to get an inspection done, they finally take my car, come back and say it failed because the windshield wiper is loose and a few lights are out. I asked them if they could fix it and they said they didn't have time today, and I would have to come back. I asked again if he could possibly fix it now since those are all minor issues, and I had been waiting for 3 hours already. He said he couldn't control how long inspections take and walked away. I could understand that behavior if I was being rude or unreasonable, but I wasn't. I ended up leaving knowing I will have to spend a number of additional hours to get this fixed and reinspected, and feeling bad because of the way I was treated. Don't come here if you want fast, complete or even respectful service. Regarding management's response below, there were only 5 or 6 cars in front of me, and multiple people were still being serviced when I was turned away. Why the business was still open to those people and not myself I could not say, though in retrospect I cannot help but feel like it had to do with my butch appearance. Employees are not very friendly, after I declined their bs service that wasn't even needed, they told me my car wouldn't even make it a block if I drove it off, my car happened to make it home which is a little over a mile. Scare tactics to try and spend thousands for things that aren't even needed. Poor morals!!! read more

On 3/15/23 my boyfriends car brakes went out so I told him to go drop it off at LakeRidge auto. The next day we called and told them the problem so they said they would look at it. A few hrs later they called and said what needed to be done. So we did it and I feel they did not add anything else like other companies do to get money. I also take my vehicle there as well. All the staff are so nice. I will always take my truck there. They did the job in a reasonable time as well. read more

This place is good for my tirerack delivery and installment but outside of that their prices are double than everywhere else. I was quoted $950 for a tune-up....and yes that was the price quoted over the phone (car not in their possession). I call for quotes from them because they are convenient but not enough to pay double for most of their services or tires. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon to get my car inspected and emissions done. There was a pretty long line when I arrived but that isn't there fault. Just be prepared to wait a long time In your cold car. Dress accordingly and bring something to do. Once my car was taken it only took 10-15 minutes but overall I was there for 2 hours. Staff was friendly and courteous. I received all the paperwork I needed to get my car registered at the DMV. read more
