For more than 12 years I took all six of my cars to Parkway Automotive and received great service from Jimmy and his dad. Then they sold the business to the new owner. The very first visit cost me $60 just for them to look at the car. It just got worse after that. Two of my kids took their cars there. The first was given a list of eight "critical" repairs that needed to be done immediately or something terrible would happen. Estimate was over $3K. Got a second opinion (Lake Ridge Automotive) and only one repair was necessary and was done for less than $100. Today, another kid took a car there and was charged $160 for them to plug in the engine fault code reader. No work was done, just read the codes! Not sure if it was the same lady at the desk each time, but I would not recommend this business to anyone. read more

This review is after a month since I had service on my car: The good.. the staff was very friendly and the way they communicate is kind. Through the 2 different reasons I've had to go there, they eventually got the issues fixed. It took two trips but because they misdiagnosed an issue the first time, they didn't charge me for labor the 2nd time so I appreciate that. The not-so-good experience.. they didn't call to say to what extent the diagnosis was neither did they call to breakdown the cost for everything. So by the time I got my car back, everything was already done so I'm inclined to pay at that point. Not to mention, the cost of parts was over the average pricing that you can get online so if you're familiar with car parts, I recommend ordering it elsewhere and asking if they're able to use that instead of theirs. Overall, I'd come back here for maintenance and inspections. I think they are trustworthy but could improve method of communication to the customers. read more

Location was great by the house had a flat tire. They were taken care of a few cars that were there. The customers coming in were repeat customers. Enjoy the owner, his wife and their two dogs or three dogs two beautiful labs that were chewing on a dinosaur bone and they had a smaller one which was very funny great family business will always go there when my car goes bad again five stars to this business paid attention to detail got me in and out in less than 25 minutes and the charge was phenomenal. Got my oil and filter changed here in January. Almost $90. Their service was quick but maybe too quick because they forgot to put the oil filter cap back on so its been leaking since January. I only noticed when a friend's dad checked my engine for me. The cap had been put to the side away from the filter. I think it was the young guy that works there. I'm guessing he left it to the side and forgot about it. A pretty careless mistake to make that could've cost my engine breaking down. Hopefully whoever changed my filter double checks their work next time. read more

Got some windshield wipers replaced here among other things, about a month ago. Well lo' and behold my left windshield wiper randomly detaches while I'm driving. I of course go back and demand they replace it, but Jeff was totally apathetic and didn't even apologize for potentially getting in a wreck. We go back and forth and I can tell he's just really passive aggressive in his tone, like he's doing me a favor that he's replacing the left windshield wiper for free. You're damn right you're gonna replace it for free. Now I don't trust if they did the other things in my car correctly. I will never be back for this location read more

I called first to see if there would be a long wait for a state inspection-the guy on the phone was a little short but I decided to give them a try anyway. Service was fast since there was no-one in front of me and the guy there was friendly. There's a nice dog named Lucy that hangs out as well. I gave three stars bc everything was fine-didn't wow me but didn't repulse me either, right in the middle. read more

Great service, reasonably priced, and very prompt! I am very satisfied with the service provided at Parkway Automotive. My vehicle died on the way to work ... Engine started banging, I lost all acceleration, and then the engine shut down. I Had it towed to Parkway Automotive after Canton Auto Repair said it would be 2-3 weeks before they could get to my vehicle. Within minutes, the mechanics at Parkway had diagnosed the issue and began repairs. Very knowledgable mechanics! My total bill was about 1/4 of what I expected and I was back on the road before the next work day. I will definitely use Parkway Automotive again, and I would recommend them to anyone. I am a mechanic myself. I build Fox Body Mustangs for street and track, and have for years, but after selling my toys and moving into an apartment in Virginia, I needed to find a place that could do the work for me, that I simply can't because I lack the tools and a place to do so. First off, technically, the guys are on point. Not thrilled by the attitude the head honcho seems to have at times, but I let that slide since the dog (Lucy) is a sweetheart, and they do their best to be absolutely accommodating. They do their best to slide you in if they can. I dropped off a real piece-a-pile of a 2003 Mercury Sable to get the A/C completely redone, and I got a fair price, and one ice-cold, completely rebuilt A/C system. You could not even *tell* the difference between a factory installation, and what these guys did, except all of the replaced components were shiny new, and had their new tags on them. It ran perfectly from the moment I picked it up, and froze my face off for all of 2013, before trading it in for another car. Since then I have taken the KIA Soul in to get an oil change, and they were able to do it quickly and on the spot, with only ~45 minutes notice. The Mercury used to get its oil changes done there as well. Not one single time have I driven off with so much as a drip off of my filter, pan, dipstick tube, or any oil mess up on the filler cap. I can't say the same for other places. A well known chain once left me with an undertightened filter on an old car, and I had to pull over, find the leak/source of the smoke, and hand tighten the thing on the side of the road through a vomitous cloud of oil vapor being pressurized onto exhaust runners. Not one single time have I had any mechanical or technical issues with these guys work. I'd give 5 stars if the head dude wasn't so damn irritable some of the time, but even with that said, and my possession of thick skin, the work done is damn good, and I will return. read more

No tire vibrations and it drives straight down the highway. No the tires weren't new either. I've been using them for about 10 years now and they provide great value for service. Diagnosed a timing issue on my Ford Ranger that was causing it to stall, fixed the downstream O2 sensor on my Mazda. Also great for regular maintenance and alignments, and consistently gave solid advice on preventative maintenance to think about - without being pushy. Staff is not very chatty but will gladly answer any questions in detail. read more

It is challenging to find a mechanic one can truly trust. We have three older cars in our family. Car repairs are part of our life. The owner and his son are great. Over the years, they've gone over and above. The other day, my brake light was flickering, but I didn't have time to deal with it. Jimmy told me to stop by real quick. He added brake fluid so I'd be safe on the road, didn't charge me, and told me to come in the following week to get it checked out. Then yesterday, my daughter was in with her 23 year old Acura which has a multitude of issues. They figured out a way to postpone (for a few months) even more necessary work. They sent her on her way without charging her anymore than we'd already paid previously. They are awesome and Lucy, the owner's sweet dog, keeps her eye on the whole operation. read more

They advertise that they accept service contracts.... except when you get there suddenly its "No you pay upfront for all the work, and then you go through your service contract to see if its covered, we aren't going to call them". Grade A job guys, way to do the literal bare minimum for the customer as possible. How about you just take that part off your website and stop misrepresenting yourself? read more

No stars if I could. Really. Simple alignment requested. Alignment was checked and then I was told that it couldn't be adjusted. Charged me $50 for an alignment check. I knew it was off, which is why I brought it in. I even brought them the service manual which has the alignment procedures, and states very clearly that it is adjustable for exactly the specification that was off (camber.) They had the arrogance to say the manual was wrong. Went to another shop (Advantage Auto in Manassas) who got everything adjusted correctly with no further issues. I'd avoid these guys. read more
