Attended a charity event today, we got to play the Faldo course. Very fun, with some challenging holes. You will be facing a lot of sand bunkers throughout the course with some water hazards. Greens are multi tiered and the pins are placed at a very challenging locations. Greens are in very good conditions, as is the fairways. They really don't have any rough, cut very low. But it does allow your ball to roll into the desert hazards, so be careful. They really do a good job keeping these course in good condition. And the workers there are really great. I will diffidently come back here.

Golf was great! Super open but lush course. We golfed 18 holes, love the computerized carts that tell you how far you are from the hole. Food was AMAZING at the course. I had the tuna Poke. Good and drinks were on point. Huge portion sizes. Can't wait to go back!

Located at the JW Marriott the Wildfire Golf club has two 18 hole courses the Palmer and the Faldo. I played the Palmer years ago so I was looking forward to playing the Faldo course which has over 100 sandtraps! It was the last day of our vacation and we were paired with two snow birds from Edmonton and we teed off at 10:00 am. The weather was perfect just under 70* with no wind or clouds. Staying at the villas gets you a discounted rate of $107.00 per player. This club is very busy and being Christmas eve there were many people playing golf, but the course is well managed - we teed off right on time. I enjoyed the computor GPS which gives you the exact yardage to the pin and an aerial view of the entire hole layout with a press of the button! Technogly at its finest. The course was in excellant shape due to overseeding not long ago. The only negative is that there were so many players the it took us close to 5 hours to play the round (Minus one star). Service was excellant from bag handler, pro shop attendee, starter, marshalls and even the cart gal. I enjoyed the Faldo course over the Palmer and would return here in the future.

3 rounds in the last 48 hours. Great course. Food at the restaurant was amazing. Lots of wild life to see.

Palmer is a lot easier and has a ton of wildlife including bunnies, quails, coyotes, woodpeckers, and roadrunners.

The price being 118 for one adult and one junior is reasonable and for what you're paying it's worth it. The course had many complex and nice holes, my favorites being 1,5,7,13, and 16. However there is a problem that really can't be fixed. The practice facility is hitting right onto the 1,2, and 3rd holes. I almost got hit in the head on the 3rd hole, but other than that I don't really have a complaint here. The greens, tee boxes, fairway, and rough are in good condition! So overall Stonecreek is a amazing course and I would definitely play here again!

He not only tried to help me with the problem but he researched how to help me and called me back when he found the information. After figuring out what needed to be done, it was needing a managers approval. James was able to get the situation to the manager and he personally called me to explain how we could fix the situation. The manager called another club and made the situation work out. Unbelievable effort Customer service has been declining in pretty much every area of the service industry over the last 5 yrs or more. The effort given by James and the manager was nice to receive. Thank you very much to James and the Manager (I think his name is Josh.)

It's Masters Week! That must explain why I have been getting the chance to play a bunch of golf! I…read moregot lucky with a bunch of invitations to play some great places this week! When a friend (not just a buddy...anybody that that invites me to play at a place like this is someone that you would seriously entertain donating a kidney to) asks you come out a play this track, I only have one word for you...go. If you have to clear your schedule, fly home from a business meeting, tell the kids that daddy just can't be there for the piano recital or t-ball game, just do it. Why? Are these courses the best in the world? Well, I would not go that far. There are a number of courses around the country (and even in Arizona) that I think well of...but this place is definitely in the top five. Whisper Rock has two beautiful desert courses. The Fazio 18 is as nice a desert track as you will find. The sight lines are superb, every hole lays out nicely in front of you, and you will need to think about every shot (including your putts...remember where Phoenix is, and remember that these greens are generally pretty close to tour speed). There aren't houses surrounding the course, and it does feel like a walk in the park (OK, a desert park, but you get the idea). The caddies are great...uniformly impressive in their knowledge of the game, their knowledge of the course and their affability during the round...they all pass the beer test (would you want to spend a cross country flight having a beer with these guys as your seatmate? Yes=pass;no=fail). The entire staff is superb and at the same time welcoming and friendly. There is none of the country club crap that you occasionally find at some clubs (I was member at Blackhawk in Danville, CA for many years, because I lived there...but I always disliked the snooty atmosphere...it was one of the big reasons that I didn't join a club when we moved to AZ). Whisper Rock is a GOLF club, not a country club and everything revolves around that fact. The practice area is, frankly, the best I have ever seen! It's difficult to imagine the golf shot that you can't practice here. The facilities and surroundings are beautiful...pleasant and comfortable, but elegant nevertheless. A number of tour pros and TV golf personalities are members at Whisper Rock and I see why. Terrific courses and practice facilities, comfortable surroundings, real camaraderie and friendliness from everybody. What great week for golf!

In fact, one of the first signs that you'll come across is a quote by Tiger Woods. "Some of my happiest memories are of spending time with my Pops on the golf course having putting contests." Awww! I came with my fam and for the adults it's $30 a person and for kids it's $20 for all day putting. It includes your golf club rental and a ball. You can also have the option of opting out of the cost if you just want to watch and in my case, I was just going help my kiddo and observe. We wanted to have lunch first and the food is actually pretty good! I actually got the burger in a wrap which made it feel healthier yet still savory & delicious! There is also a shaded playground, foosball and ping pong tables. There are 2 mini golf courses to choose from, black (easier and flatter) and red (harder and hillier with obstacles). It's designed like a classic putting course without the cutest obstacles. So for younger kids, they may not find it as engaging unless they are really into putting. You can also order drinks and food while on the course and it'll be delivered right to you. Overall, it was a fun experience!
