This cafe is inside a mall that is bigger than it looks. While the fare is American, this place has more vegetarian and vegan options than a lot of those restaurants. I was tempted by a millet-based veggie burger. The burger itself delivered a hint of nuttiness and a seared edge, while the fresh toppings made for a dynamic experience. My sweet potato fries came with a ketchup that had an extra level of tang from some added ingredient I couldn't identify. The dessert spread looked nice, but I decided I'd had enough. While they did have vegetarian choices, the menu and specials were still mostly not for me, but I was able to eat something satisfying. read more

This was my first time here and I was really impressed with the food and location! Got there around noon on a Sunday and there was maybe a 10 minute wait. It looks smaller on the outside, but when you walk in there are more booths in the back which provide space for you to be able to enjoy with a group of friends. I ordered the French toast with a side of fruit. I immediately started eating (as you can tell from the photo) because the food was so delicious! Good service, good atmosphere, great food. We had a really nice early dinner on a Friday night. Nacho appetizer was big enough to take half home, tasty and warm. No meat, black beans. Yummy start. Main course was a very tasty Rodeo burger with sweet tater fries. Wife had the portobello burger with sweet tater fries. Rodeo burger was big, tasty and filling. Portobello had a little too much lettuce, but great taste. Of course we had one of the Wildflour's famous desserts! Lemon lovers tart and really good coffee. So glad we found this little gem!! Staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding and very reasonably priced. We got the salmon special and the shrimp special- both were amazing. I always have good food at Wildflour -- If you are into desserts, definitely save room -- homemade cakes and pastries. Service is good. Food is different than a lot of restaurants in Roanoke -- well though out and prepared very well. Soups, appetizers, entrees, desserts -- I go the whole nine yards when I eat here. Great for lunch of dinner or Sunday brunch -- I've done all three. These folks do a great job. Service was GREAT! Percy and Ashley handled all our needs (gluten free and vegetarian) with smiles and great hospitality. The food was delicious! We had spinach salads (minus the bacon) and sweet potato fries - both were fabulous:-). And oh, the desserts...one of us had the GF cookie and the other had coconut cake that was like eating a cloud, so light and fluffy. I just needed a place to continue doing work after the library closed early on Friday, so I came here to grab some dinner. The Towers Wifi didn't work but luckily I was able to hotspot my phone. I had the cashew chicken salad sandwich with sweet potato French fries, and it was pretty good. No complaints, but it didn't "wow" me. I'd love to come back to try other sandwiches and wraps! read more

Very few restaurants have a great food menu in a cozy environment with excellent service. Wildflower Cafe at Towers is one of them. On the way to the theater with a friend, we decided to stop for dinner there and we weren't disappointed. The place was pretty full to start with, but we were greeted by the waitress right away who took us to a table after consulting with us for our seating preference. She was very friendly and efficient. My friend had the Seared Salmon Salad Special. I had the Cuban Pork Sandwich Special. Melted Swiss cheese over pulled pork and sliced ham with tomato, pickle, and brown mustard. The food came out after a reasonable time of waiting and it was so delicious. The bun of the sandwich was soft and fresh. The pulled pork was tender and juicy, and the melted Swiss cheese gave it the perfect touch. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a wonderful dining experience, in a warm and cozy atmosphere, with excellent food and service. read more

We ordered online for pickup at Wildflour for lunch on our way back home from Snowshoe based on the great Yelp reviews. It is located in a strip mall plaza and to access the cafe you do need to enter into the mall. My husband ordered the Blue Moon wrap and I ordered the dragon tooth sandwich on sourdough bread. You can choose up to 4 choices for bread and also comes with 1 choice of a side in which there are plenty of choices. My husband did have a special request to include his French fries into his wrap, which they did and left the remaining on the side. Everything was delicious and service was great as they asked if I needed utensils, etc. Ambiance looked cozy with plenty of seating and different selection of baked goods on display by the entrance. I would definitely come back on my next drive up north! read more

I've been to Wildflour several times and it's never blown my skirts up. Maybe it's the fact that it is inside, with no outside views. The windows they do have look out on a hallway. The food has never been more than average, and I made the mistake of ordering one of their red-bean dishes, forgetting that several years ago when I'd tried this, I found it unpleasant. It has not improved. There is some seasoning they use in it that I can't identify, though I suspect it might be brown sugar....which works fine with baked bean variations, but just doesn't appeal with red beans. My lunch partner loves their sweet potato fries, and when I tried one, I agreed it was delicious. The offerings in the dessert case looked like they'd been there for days - and this restaurant used to have wonderful desserts. Host for our family couples' night dinner for 3 years running. Shared lot provides sufficient parking spaces. They took am phone reservations for our party of 8 which helped us to be greeted/seated immediately upon arrival at 640p. Restaurant has a cute, country contemporary vibe. Despite being short-winded and me asking her name, Nicole was a very good waitress providing friendly service, ample refills, and menu tips. Great pace too as we didn't wait very long for any of our courses! Fried green tomatoes app (6 for $6) was splendid, a brilliant balance of veggie taste with bacon/goat cheese/chipotle aioli. Tomato cheddar soup bowl ($4.75) was the perfect hot creamy goodness for my wife on a cold evening; the complimentary fresh, sourdough bread made for great dippin'. Garden salad was described as "good but would have been better with romaine" (thanks E. coli). I opted for sweet potato fries in place of salad, served with a pleasantly memorable ROSEMARY SPICED CATSUP. I never rave over sauce but this one was great and could easily achieve ranch status with our brood! Half of our party went with STREET TACOS (2 for $9 w/ side), for good reason. Protein was tender, flavorful and amplified by the creamy goat cheese, pico, cilantro lime aioli, and lettuce toppings; wifey doesn't usually like corn tortillas but these were pan seared and double wrapped for rigidity. After tasting it, I semi-regretted my Thai curry bouillabaisse choice ($17.50) which was good (not great). A nice balance of creamy/spicy sauce, cilantro and a bed of rice noodles, yet it was a tad mushy and had only 3 shrimp, 3 clams and lacked the advertised scallops; brussel sprouts were an unexpected delight, flavorful with a nice char, adorned with bacon and garlic. Brother in law's burger was described as juicy and delicious. Mother in law said her cashew chicken salad sandwich ($9) was good BUT didn't have any cashews. When asked, the food runner said they grind them up and are mixed in; Nicole said they should be seen and brought a side of cashews, apologizing for their absence. When asked, my Father in law described his beef stroganoff ($15.50) as "terrible, just noodles and mushroom gravy, no meat." He sent it back and opted not to have anything else. Nicole was awesome, handling the complaint with grace and tact; she assured him it was removed from the bill and comp'd a dessert to redeem his experience. This is a staple or their existence and my only 2 regrets were: not saving room and not taking dessert pics. We dined at Wildflower Cafe at Towers a few nights ago. The staff were very nice and service was attentive and helpful. Sadly, that is the best I can say about our experience. The atmosphere is lacking in ambience. We were seated at a nondescript booth alongside the kitchen entry. The restaurant temperature was very cold. But what stood out the most was the disappointment with our meals. I ordered the red beans and rice. What was served was a large bowl layered first with white rice on the bottom. It looked like Minute rice and had no flavor. On top of that had been ladled a red sauce with what looked liked kidney beans. This was also flavorless. Finely shredded mild cheddar cheese rested atop the bean mixture along with curls of spring onions. The onions were the only flavor. I kept adding salt and pepper, but the dish was nearly inedible and I left over half of it in the bowl. My husband ordered a Cobb salad. He said the chicken was good, but the salad had a Tex-Mex flavor as along with the avocado, egg, and bacon, it was covered with red salsa. The salsa combined with the lettuce to make it slimly and limp. He did not eat much of his either. We won't return. read more

I eat here more than any other restaurant in Roanoke. My family and I are in love with it. The menu is fantastic with many original dishes. It is vegetarian friendly, though still has plenty of good meat dishes. Prices are extremely reasonable and the service is consistently good. Wildflour has a lot of longtime fans here in the valley and for good reason. It's a perfect spot to grab lunch or dinner with people since it's laid back and has a relaxing atmosphere.
