Dr. Dowdy has seen us through many health issues, both dogs and cats. For example, our large German Shepherd, Nick, had a broken growth plate in his leg, pannus in his eyes, not one but 2 ACL repairs, and more! Yet he lived 14 happy and virtually pain-free years with us thanks to Dr. Dowdy's excellent care (and caring)! Highly recommend this veterinary practice! They're all wonderful and caring!

My mother had been going here for 40 years, but I will now be going somewhere else and you should too. I have no idea what has happened to this practice, but it sounds like it's really gone downhill. Thankfully for my dog we didn't even get past the front desk staff, who were extremely rude, unhelpful, and unsympathetic. I have actually never been treated so badly by a front desk person before, at any vet clinic or doctor's office. If whoever is in charge of this clinic wants to try improve things, I would by training your staff on professionalism, or getting rid of Abby, Sondra, Courtney, and Paula and finding some front desk people who actually want to help people and their pets.

They diagnosed her correctly, got her medications started immediately, and have always communicated clearly every step of the way. They promptly return my calls and answer my "50" pet parent questions! lol I can't recommend just one of the veterinarians their because every doctor we've worked with has been outstanding. There group is outstanding!! The entire team genuinely cares about their patients and treats both pets and owners with kindness and professionalism. There's a reason this clinic has been serving the community since 1917--they've earned that reputation through exceptional care and dedication. Ive seen a few bad reviews, very sad.. And as for complaints about being turned down when you're more then 10 minutes late, have you ever been to any doctor? I'd encourage people to keep things in perspective. Veterinary emergencies happen, other people are patiently waiting as well. If its that urgent wouldn't you be there on time or go to an ER. Every dog is important and as pet parents, we need to be responsible and do out part, like arriving on time. I'd much rather know my veterinarian will take the time to care for an animal rather then need to rush through appointments. I myself have had to call with 24 hours notice to reschedule and I was able to get back in just a few days. They take your pets care seriously! I highly recommend Brighton Animal Clinic to anyone looking for compassionate, knowledgeable, and trustworthy veterinary care.

We rescheduled and were told we could still use the plan. Our dog became sick and wasn't able to undergo the surgery so I set up an appointment to see what the next steps would be. They told us to hold off on the neutering until he is better and they would still honor the plan we had. We soon scheduled the surgery again but when we went in, they said we would have to pay out of pocket and that he needed a different surgery which was $300 more and not covered in the plan. They lied to us and refused to honor the plan we FULLY paid for. We asked to talk to a manager about the situation and no one has reached out. Bad place for new dog owners

It took them 5 days to put down, cremate, and then get back her ashes. They told me they would give me her ashes, a paw print, and then I asked for a clipping of her fur. I got all my stuff back today, they packaged everything beautifully, and everything is beautifully made. The main thing I would love to comment on is the card that they gave me, the condolences card. It was adorable, and the thing that I loved dearly is that 6 women signed it, and then they put paw prints across the top of my hamsters feet. I just want to say that I am so so happy with my things, and thank you too all the people that put in such care and effort to take good care of my baby Iris.

They stated that they can't leave him muzzled. He gets muzzled every time he goes to the vet as a precaution, even though he's never bit or snipped at anyone but because he shows his nervousness by growling. I have worked with dogs for several years and have rarely found an animal "professional" that refuses service based on nervous behavior, and further refuses service because they will not muzzle a dog. Insane practice to charge as much as they do for grooming services and show this much incompetence and inexperience they have.

We got up to the register and asked the cashier if she thought we got the right size. Ann, one of the store managers over heard and came to our rescue. She cut off the ties off of the harness we thought would fit and proceeded to place it on Bono and adjusted it to make sure it fit him properly. After all of this, we figured that he would be able to escape this harness as well. So she walked us back to the aisle with the harness choices and recommended a different one. She took that one out of the package and tried it on him, adjusted this one all over again. Mind you, Bono is not very warm to people he doesn't know. She gained rapport with him quickly by giving him some awesome doggy massages. Because of Ann, we found the perfect harness that Bono can't escape out of. Thank you!
