Came here as we waited for our food to be ready across the street and enjoyed looking at all their different brews on tap. I appreciated the difference offerings and how knowledgeable the bartender was about how each one tasted. I was able to sample a couple and it actually changed my opinion on beer lol. I don't know if I would ever go back and order a full glass but there are a few I could definitely sip

Our go to Sunday dinner spot. Great for sport games, they have TVs all over. The bartenders are super friendly and we always have good conversations with them. And the jams! The have the best playlist every time we are in there. Now for the food- it's slightly elevated bar food but the sandwiches are fabulous. My go to is the grilled ribeye with the pasta salad, but it's hard to go wrong. As you can see in the photo- their salads are huge! Finally- the beer selection is fantastic. They curate a list of interesting selections from all over.

I visited Wiley Gunters for dinner. It's a neighborhood bar in Baltimore. TVs lined the wall and there was a chalkboard with a variety of beers offered. I was greeted and told to sit wherever. Service was quick, I ordered my food and it was very little wait time. Different servers checked on us throughout our time which I appreciated. I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap and I was able to sub out the grilled chicken for crispy chicken. It was delicious. The chicken was very well seasoned and the fries...chef's kiss! My boyfriend's old bay wings were piping hot and seasoned to perfection. Everything was delicious and at a good price point...can't wait to come back to try the Chesapeake nachos!!

I have been back here several times since my last review because of the fries. This bar is one of the only commanders bar I know of and the prices are truly affordable. I've gotten the sliders and burgers and those are mainly the best things to get on the menu besides the wings. Service is dependent on how busy they are, but they are all really friendly.

Great local place that has a lot of character and charm. It has a sports bar feel with incredible food options. The fries are some of the best in town. Highly recommend stopping by Wiley Gunters.

The food was really good with good Portion and prices were great. I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with a side salad. The buffalo wings and fries for appetizers. My Drink was good. The staff was very attentive they all kept making sure we didn't need anything. They have indoor and outdoor seating gives a bar vibe on the inside.

I've been to Wiley's MANY times - not sure why I'm just now getting around to this review. That said, I popped by on 9/22 hoping to get a steak dinner special that was a thing some years ago. Newsflash...that deal no longer exists, lol. My friend and I sat outside on a very nice Sunday evening. We scanned the QR codes on the table to order food and drink. I went with the chimichurri steak and a beer whose name I can't recall but it was delightful (and a recommendation from the bartender). I'll be stopping by again soon to drink it again! For $24 the chimichurri steak is a good deal. It comes with a huge caesar salad and fries. The steak was cooked to my specification and was very well seasoned, plus there was a lot of fat left on, which I like. Payment was easy. I shall return.

Great sports bar with a great selection above craft beers and non-alcoholic craft beers. Outstanding bar food!

My partner and I decided to try this spot out on Sunday yo watch the game and grab something to eat after realizing that our regular spot was closed. The food and customer service were great. We had burgers, fries and crushes. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be back soon.

Wiley Gunter's is my new favorite spot for bar food and drinks. The steak frites and buffalo wings are the best. The Smith Island cake was also really tasty. The bartenders were really nice and educational on the variety of different drinks.

House special steak sandwich. Crispy bread, chewy bread. Fresh meat perfectly cooked.

Fresh! Fresh! Everything they made was fresh. This is my new place for elevated bar food and cocktails. I could see the cooks in the kitchen cutting and cooking all the fresh ingredients for the steak sandwich I ordered and all of the other orders going out. The coctails were very well balanced. The Pretzels appetizer was hot and fresh as well. The holiday margarita was made with all fresh ingredients.

I've been wanting to stop by for a while and I'm glad I did! We came on a weekend night and it was a little busy. Street parking was a bit hard to find, but we were able to find some behind the restaurant. I got the ciabatta steak and it was amazing-- the ciabatta was so soft and the steak bits were super juicy and cooked perfectly. The old bay fries were also so crispy and amazing! My friend got The Chesapeake burger and loved it! She said it was one of her favorite burgers in Baltimore. Great beer selection too. Atmosphere was lively. Would definitely come again and would recommend!

It's what you do1 and this led to me discovering just how much of a certifiable beer haven Max's is! For a Philly comparison I'd put Max's on the same caliber as Glory Beer Bar and Kitchen but with a beer bible on the same scale as Monk's. It's been a beer haven for going on four decades and it shows with their 100+ rotating taps, 1000+ bottles & cans, a 4 casks that feature plenty of local Baltimore brews alongside the finest from Belgium, Germany, and then some! They even have seasonal special events like a Sour Beer Fest in June, and a Rare & Obscure Beer Weekend in October. The bar interior was classic food, with a huge main bar that showcased the many brew and spirit options. The bartenders were also spot on with their service and spot on beer suggestions. For food being so close to the waterfront had me craving some seafood, and the rockfish sandwich delivered with its Chesapeake seasoning and remoulade dressing. Each day of the week has a beer special at Max's, and Thursday meant that I was enjoying a discount on full pint cask pours. I liked that Max's had transparent pricing available for 4 oz to large pours and growlers to go on their menu for each and every draft beer, and the 4 oz pours made it easier to enjoy the 11% abv barleywine beer from a Baltimore brewery that I was curious about without feeling some extra inebriated repercussions during my ghost tour. It was extra details like that which had me really enjoying Max's and dubbing it a must visit for any beer lover visiting Baltimore.

Because I walked around the block 2x, searching for the business, now I had to rush to my seat & learn. I found my party near the back of the church. I had to focus on the task at hand which wasn't easy using metal nibs and an inkwell. :) Maybe I could've channeled the country's founding fathers if I had a quill pen made of goose and turkey feathers. Back to the business... Ministry of Brewing has an impressive craft brewery operation onsite, offers countless varieties of beer including seasonal offerings, cider, lagers and IPAs. While forming pretty letters my brain pressed me on the question of if it's slightly sacrilegious to drink & carry on in a church. The answer is no. This place was restored and now functions as a huge community gathering spot with people talking, playing games, and enjoying bites from the food trucks. I have friends really into good beer. Plus I may have to take a few more classes to improve, nevertheless I'll definitely return.
