We paid this company $1500 to conduct a survey our property in preparation for the installation of a fence. After no response for 4 weeks we requested a refund of the $1500. We were told survey work had been done in the office and we would not receive the $1500 in total. Also, they were ready to come and stake off our property boundaries and it could be done within 48 hours. When the fence company came out to provide an estimate they advised we would need a copy of the survey bearing the seal required by the county. Wilkerson & Associaetes related a copy of the survey with a seal would be an additional charge and that this had not been included with the survey. BALTIMORE COUNTY WHERE THIS COMPANY OPERATES SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE WAY THEY CONDUCT BUSINESS. read more

I am only giving one star because zero is not an option. This company was hired to complete the initial land engineering for our new home, and they moved at a glacial pace. They seem to be completely allergic to deadlines. Multiple times we were promised submissions by "the end of the day" or "the end of the week," only to find out--after we had to follow up--that nothing had been submitted. Communication is virtually non-existent; emails and voicemails consistently go unanswered. At one crucial point, we discovered our project was stalled simply because our contact, Roland, went on vacation for a week without bothering to notify us. When it came time to survey the land to begin construction, they ghosted us entirely. Unwilling to deal with further delays, we were forced to hire a completely different engineering firm just to get construction started. Now that we are at the tail end of our project, history is repeating itself: they are once again impossible to reach and are currently holding up our grading permit. They were the cheapest option when we fielded quotes, and we certainly learned our lesson. You get what you pay for. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

This company has been an absolute disaster to deal with. I paid for a survey to be done on a small 13,000 sqft piece of land that I was purchasing in December, 2025. The land was supposed to be surveyed before closing, but Wilkerson and Associates kept pushing the date back with the only communication of me reaching out and checking to see if it was done or even started. The only time they ever reached out was the first time they had to reschedule due to rain. I had to reach out every week for 4 weeks to get it an update. Even after all of that they never actually staked out the whole property. It's like they didn't even read the deed that outlined the property itself or listen to what I had to say. I was dumb, and paid them before the work was completed, without an actual contract ever being written/signed. After a month of them doing half the work and taking a month to do the scheduled work, Judy M. Mutter-Smack had the audacity to send me a bill asking for an extra $800. I've tried calling numerous times to discuss why the work hasn't been finished and why they are trying to charge me extra, but Roland just so happens to be out of the office or on vacation every time I call. read more

A liar, a thief, and a crook. Charged $3,000 to print off maps from free publicly available maps from the government. When I said I was unhappy and wanted a refund, he sent me a bill for another $800. I wouldn't wish this company on my worst enemy. I ended up getting an actual qualified engineer to do the work correctly for $1,000. Roland Joun is a fraud. read more

I would not recommend any land owner or potential buyer to hire Wilkerson Associates of Owings, MD (Calvert County) to conduct land surveys, engineering work or planning. Company has a reputation of doing inaccurate work, most recently assisting a neighboring property owner attempting to steal and state claim to 3 acres of property in which a family has owned and paid taxes on, for over 87 years. This company arrived at 5pm to do field work and was reluctant to identify themselves and provide their credentials as they were encountered by tax paying property owner. They initiated an encroachment survey for their client based on an illegitimate boundary line, unapproved by the County, from a previous land owner attempting to steal property. As a licensed surveyor in Maryland, they are expected to adhere to official property descriptions and legal documents, not establish boundary lines based on a client's wishes/desires. As a result, the impacted family was forced to initiate their own survey to contest the work completed. The family hired a company from a neighboring County and determined/confirmed the survey completed by Wilkerson & Assoc. was inaccurate by over "80 to 100ft in some places". Consumers deserve better and land owners should be protected from individuals and businesses attempting to steal land. Know your rights and know your land. Occupy, mark, and monitor your land records periodically to stop the adverse possession. Lastly, family members attempted to bring the inaccurate survey work to Wilkerson & Assoc the day after they initiated the work, but the company failed to take serious the family's claim. read more
