He told me to check for a reset button before bringing it in. I looked, but could not find the button, though he had thoroughly talked me through where to find it. When I brought my vacuum in, Brian plugged in my vacuum and promptly found the reset button, and my vacuum worked like new! It is rare to find someone so trustworthy and helpful. I believe the vacuum somehow got scratched as we put it away in our laundry room. Being that the motor and casing are guaranteed for 7 years, Miele had me bring it to this authorized dealer. They helped me right away, and rather than having to initiate a warranty claim, the technician applied some chemicals and buffed the unit, getting rid of the scratches and making the vacuum look like new. I had a couple of choices: I could just buy it online, or I could support local business and go see if a local store had one. So I checked around for who the local Miele dealers were, and this place came up. So, I paid them a visit. Salesguy was terse, blunt, and informative. He agreed that the Quickstep would be a good vacuum for our situation (small apartment, mostly hardwood and low carpet, no pets.) The price was a little higher than I would have paid online, but he also threw in a box of bags for free, which basically justified the higher price. I asked Peter to please dispatch a repair person, to look at and (hopefully fix) the mechanism in my stove's oven ... which had suddenly stopped working -- on New Year's Day (Jan. 1, just a few days ago). About 2 hours later, Mike from Tiso called me when he was on his way, and he gave me his ETA. He arrived in less than his stated ETA -- and of course (smile) he was wearing a face mask -- just as I was. Within about 8-10 minutes, he had fixed, and tested the oven ... after carefully explaining to me what had been wrong. I paid by check, and he gave me a receipt. One, two, three!! All done! :).
