I got in at 4:45 for a 2:15 appointment it was crazy. Some patients were just cancelling and leaving. Also when they call to confirm your appointment make sure you answer the phone and confirm that you will definitely be there. If you don't THEY WILL CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT! I mean you could try to call them back but it can be difficult to get through. You'll likely get a busy signal or a full voice mail box. If you miss the call confirming your appointment your best bet is to just keep calling until you get through. I wish they'd just get into the 21st century. Everyone else lets you confirm via text or email. Don't schedule your appointment during your lunch hour or if you have anything else to do that day. That being said, I felt kind of sorry for the office staff. They don't go home until all the patients are seen. I left at five and they had a full waiting room still. No way they were getting out of there before 9 pm. The quality of care was excellent and the Sequoia Surgery Center they sent me to for my colonoscopy was awesome. No complaints there. But get your act together people. Don't take on more patients than you can handle and handle confirmations through text or e-mail. Patients - bring headphones , books, a cell phone battery pack, and snacks. You're in for a long wait!

Staff should have known that before they even made my appointment!! Very poor office coordination and scheduling procedure.

Doc M, your mentor was special and did a great job with you…read more You, Dr. Mick Meiselman, saved my Father's life on his deathbed when doctors at French Hospital didn't have a clue and he had 7 bodily infections and no one got past his symptoms. Hearing our family discussing our Dad's trauma in the French Hospital lobby one day 9 years ago you listened in just passing by, politely interrupted, took a personal doctor exam on James Carp that day, examined, evaluated, stated he had stones blocking his bile duct, did several surgeries, and James was cured within a week and recovered and lived to be a month short of 103 years old. I remembered your attitude, confidence, skills, talent. Awesome and impressive. Doc, I am suffering now, been 6 weeks and my Primary Care doctors and have no clue to my inability to eat and hold anything down, to swallow without blockage and irritation in my throat, choking, belching, continuous mucous/phlegm coming up, to breathe easily, to sleep, stand, sit, lie without suffering 24/7. Nightmare! I'm desperate trust in your knowledge skill set, and care. Please see me. I'm a geezer (baby boomer), have health coverage, am alone, and twice have called for an ambulance in the middle of the nite to help me at Twin Cities ER. They did minimal actions and nothing lasting curative. I am desperate, Dr. Meiselman. I know you can help me and solve these horrible issues i'm suffering. And have no lasting relief yet. Blessings! The one time I did get someone, she picked up and coughed in the phone and said, 'ya, gastro office'...very unprofessional. Gives you a bad taste in your mouth. Then the answering machine asks you to leave a msg and someone will get back to you..but, they don't and never will. Unless they're calling you because they've screwed you up with someone else and ask why you didn't get your breath test done for H pylori?????? I haven't even stepped foot in this office, so how the heck would I have a test set up?! I understand the perils and trials and tribulations of the medical field currently with Covid, but this is ridiculous and completely unprofessional. No excuse. I've heard complaints from several friends regarding problems getting in or answers from doctors offices around here. Not sure what's happening with the medical on the central coast but it's going to the crapper!

Surgery is a stressful experience under the best of circumstances and surgeons can be a stoic lot…read more I know because I have had a few surgeries in my time. My recent surgery to repair an inguinal hernia was performed by Dr. Russel Martin, and I can tell you with absolute confidence that it was the easiest surgical experience of my life. Dr. Martin is a very good-natured man who exudes and inspires confidence that clearly comes, not from arrogance, but from experience, genuine skill, and dedication to his profession. All of my questions were answered ... all of my concerns were addressed. Dr. Martin was both patient and articulate. His team in the office and at the hospital (St. Agnes) were top-flight and made me feel very well cared for the entire time. My anesthesiologists were flawless. On a scale of 1-10 my post-op pain level never got past a 4 and my recovery has been rapid (two weeks later I am in the pool swimming laps and feeling fine) I feel none of the common post-op discomfort sometimes caused by the injection of CO2. I am 78 and Dr. Martin, made sure that I was ok for the procedure by sending me to Dr. Khoi Le (also an excellent doctor) for a cardiac clearance. As I said, surgery is stressful, but I can honestly say that Dr. Martin is the best I could hope for, and I remain very satisfied and grateful for his help in improving the quality of my life. If I could award him more stars I certainly would.
