Dr. Wong is an amazing dentist. Located right around the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, parking can be a hassle. They had free parking in back for the last few years I've been going, but I guess that was only due to the pandemic it turns out. So now, they want something like $25 to park there for your dental visit, which I personally think is insane. There are meters on the street, and you can get lucky, but don't bet on it. The office is totally unassuming. It's not ritzy or glamorous like my previous dentist, who was a DDS to the stars. Unfortunately, my previous doctor got sick of Delta Dental nickel and diming him, so he stopped taking the insurance. So, I went to Dr. Wong based on a recommendation. And, I'm glad I did. He is a very knowledgeable doctor and isn't the type to suggest work or expensive products you don't need. His staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a male hygienist - I think his name might be Jose - who is fantastic. There is one female hygienist who will tear your mouth apart like a Cenobite. Ask for the male dental hygienist for your cleaning. So beside the one female hygienist and the parking, I can't recommend Dr. Wong enough. I know my gal found him when he turned out to be reasonable with his implant pricing after she lost a tooth years ago. So, I would recommend Dr. Wong without hesitation. The only reason I might not keep going there is I live all the way in the San Gabriel Valley now and getting there is like 90 minutes each way and with gas prices and their parking prices, I just need to find something closer to me. However, if you are on the West Side or even Hollywood, and looking for a dentist, give Dr. Wong a shot. read more

Dr. Wong is just hands down THE BEST! ~ Of all the dentists I've seen in my lifetime, I've been the most satisfied with the work of Dr. Wong. So much so, that I recently traveled 12 hours from Northern California to LA to get some more cosmetic work done! I first found Dr Wong's practice in 2007, when a colleague referred me. In addition to regular dental care, I was also in need of some cosmetic dental work on two of my front teeth. He did an impeccable job with that. I then moved away from LA in the mid 2010s, and saw a handful of different dentists over the course of a decade. Now, I'm not exaggerating when I say that EACH ONE of those subsequent dentists commented on the good work that Dr. Wong did on my front teeth. Seriously, every single one of them! I emailed to inquire as a new patient, and their admins (Grace and her colleague) were very prompt in responding with getting me an appointment, and helpful with collecting all the info they needed. I had a pretty bad case of chipped front teeth that has been effecting my confidence in my smile since my fall. Dr. Wong did such an amazing job at repairing my teeth and bringing my smile back! Perfect and safe visit! I was overdue for a regular dental exam given COVID-19 and was luckily able to come to Dr. Wong as a new patient. The staff made the transition super easy and were proactive in minimizing processes and taking all safety precautions. Before coming in, they emailed paperwork in advance, so I could fill it out and bring it to the office with zero contact. They had me call upon arrival and I was able to wait in the hallway before coming in.The cleaning was straightforward and they even were careful to not use the spray machines to minimize droplets in the air. Walked out with that refreshed and clean teeth feeling and glad to be able to get a medical checkup in such a safe way! Easy parking lot in the back as well. read more

I had my first appointment here yesterday and it was absolutely perfect! It was perfect because they take every possible safety measure during this confusing time of COVID so you feel absolutely safe when we all know what the potential of a dentist appointment could be. I'll just say that the pen you're given to do your paperwork which is in a bag with a cleaning cloth is given to you to keep or throw away so no one else touches it after you to start things off. After the measures of your temperature being taken you're greeted with a genuinely happy front desk experience and then you're taken into your exam room where everything is spotless, you wash your hands after already having to use hand sanitizer initially upon entering. The woman who takes your temperature has conquered the whole smiling eyes thing like no other also, her eyes actually smile! I know it's crazy but I digress! I've been thinking about those eyes for 24 hours now! Dr Wong comes in as is beyond attentive and really took his time. There was no rushed feeling and he even discussed the person who suggested his practice to me and you could tell right away that he knows his patients and clearly listened to them which makes you feel so worthy and lucky to be there. He's gentle and he explains every step of the appt and your future appt's if necessary. Best bed side manner of any dentist in my 50 years. Now, I hadn't been to the dentist in 4 years because I dont typically like them or the experiences so I needed a hygienist to do some dirty work. Not a deep cleaning but there was still some heavy lifting needed. In comes an angel. This woman was doing Gods work in a collapsed mine shaft and she was sweet as pie, polite, hard working and did all the dirty work that I was embarrassed by and made me feel like the cement that was popping out of my mouth was somehow normal and not so bad! We should support dentist offices that support us and our discomfort because the dentist office brings so many insecurities out of us all and this place has conquered all of our fears, all of the discomfort and I felt like I had gone to some wonderful people's home for the first time when it was all said and done and only hoped that I didn't say something that wouldn't get me invited back! Dr. Wong has been my dentist for at least 10 years, and each time I see him, it's been a good experience. He is pretty exceptional, and I know this because I have no complaints. I am the daughter of a retired Dentist and I was also a registered dental assistant for 5 years (several years ago) I chose to become a patient of Dr. Wong because of his education, experience and knowledge of proper dental hygiene and treatment to maintain natural tooth structure when possible. Upon his initial examination, he informed me that one of my molars was infected (due to a botched root canal performed by a previous dentist) and recommended an extraction and implant. He referred me to a specialist who made the experience amazing. A few years later I needed new veneers and Dr. Wong worked with my time line and budget to accommodate my needs. I was really excited to find a dentist office so close to my work. However, the receptionist had a attitude every time I spoke with her and the dentist told me I had a cavity that I did not have. He initially told me that I didn't have a cavity and then called me back a few weeks later to see when I wanted to schedule an appointment for a filling. I fought him on his and he insisted that I needed a filling. I went to another dentist for a second opinion and he didn't see any cavities. I then told him what happened at Dr. Wong's office and he said you have to be careful of dentist that try to rip people off. Get a second opinion if you go to to this dentist! read more

Dr. Wong took over the practice from my previous dentist, who I totally trusted to do perfect work...and Dr. Wong has been just as consistently competent, knowledgeable and dependable. His staff is just as caring and careful as he is and his office administrator{?} Diana has been very patient and helpful. Both he and his staff are good at explaining dental work needed. Once I just stopped in the office late in the afternoon without an appointment or calling in advance because my tooth had been painful all day and I was immediately seen and helped by Dr. Wong. Another time recently, I called on the weekend about a chipped tooth and asked for an appointment ASAP -- and Diana called first thing Monday morning to set up an appointment immediately. Most importantly, I have a sister with mental health issues who has been treated with caring, respect and understanding. She was difficult during one cleaning when she first went there and I'm aware and grateful that the response was concern and tact, and she's been happy to go there ever since then. He always looks at problems from all angles and gives you every option when it comes to work on your teeth. I've been going to Dr. Wong for nearly 10 years and I couldn't be more impressed with his expertise and thoughtful approach. While other offices may be focused on selling you extra services, Dr. Wong concentrates on your health, your smile and your happiness with both. As for the front office....a couple reviewers appear to have mixed up abruptness with rudeness. I've never seen it that way...I see the office manager as a traffic controller and I respect that fact that she's gotta keep the place moving. For me the benefit has been never having to wait more than 5 minutes in the lobby before being put in a room and seen by the staff. I give them 2 stars because I really liked Doctor Wong and believe he is a good dentist. The problem was his front office person. She was shockingly rude. She even told me, "don't give me that cry baby look" when I stood there frozen and in shock from her final quote which was triple what she originally quoted. At the previous appointment, when I asked her if she could do afternoon appointments on Tuesdays or Thursdays, she said, "you know, you're not the only schedule we need to worry about." Who talks like that to a patient trying to figure out when they can come back in? It was bizarre. Anyway, the crown never fit properly and, to add insult to injury, only a couple months later, you could see huge dark spots at the gum line. It looks terrible. Very disappointed and out thousands more as I will have to go elsewhere for a new crown. read more

Dr. William S. Wong is by far the best dentist I have ever been to in 30 years. It had been at least 3 years since I went to a dentist. My last dentist experience was so horrible. It took me 3 years and a lot of pain to make an appointment. So I called my mom. She gave me the number. My first appointment was a complete and thorough examination. I mean, every tooth was checked and double checked. He let me know what he found, what needed priority treatment and what could wait. I received a call the next day to make an appointment and to be advised of the costs. I went in a few days later. I am the biggest chicken when it comes to the dentist. Dr Wong and his staff made me feel so comfortable. I turned on my i pod and it seemed like no time had passed. It was over and I was walking out the door. I knew good work was done and nothing was missed. Later that night the phone rang. It was Dr. Wong calling to see how I was doing????? Who does that? I have been a patient of Dr. Wong since he took over the practice in 2008. While I have pretty good dental health, I am not the easiest patient to treat as I gag when the dental mirror gets close to my mouth and dental x-rays have always been my own personal demon. I have had a few accidents, i.e.,2 cracked teeth, a 30-year-old filling that starting disintegrating, and just recently a painful toothache that resulted in a root canal procedure. Through it all, Dr. Wong and his over-the-top friendly staff have helped me through it all. Last, I appreciate it that Dr. Wong calls in the evening to check up on me after major procedures.
