I've had okay experiences here for 2yrs- but after my pregnant wife had horrible experience with a cleaning, we both won't ever be going back. The woman cleaning her teeth was name Sara. To start, I realize pregnant women's teeth can be sensitive but my wife has a very high pain tolerance. Sara was really aggressive while cleaning, even after my wife stopped to say it hurt- it did not help. Sara kept angrily speaking in another language to the other employees and was unprofessional & condescending in recommending better dental care. According to my wife it was the *worst dentist cleaning she had ever experienced* In my experience, a single appointment always ends with them insisting you need further dental work done. I called to speak to a manager- who sounded very relaxed and unbothered by my wife bad experience. She said she would call my wife to apologize and make it right. My dad has Alzheimer's so as the disease has progressed those appointments have become more complicated but Dr. Yosi and his office staff, Sandra, and his dental assistant, Daniel, have always been very understanding and supportive. I was referred to Dr. Yosi by a coworker in 2019. Prior to that, I had a terrible time finding a decent and affordable dentist who accepted my Anthem insurance plan. I feel blessed to have been referred to such a quality dentist. I have a lot of dental problems due to weak teeth, smoking, having braces for 6 years, and neglecting regular checkups due to lack of insurance coverage at times. Dr. Yosi has been instrumental in my attainment of a much healthier mouth, and he's willing to work with my minimal budget. He doesn't make me feel bad about having neglected things in the past, he only strives to fix what's needed now. He is gentle as can be with cleanings. He doesn't upsell you on unnecessary services. If anything, he has taken situations where many dentists would have said I need a crown, but he somehow salvaged the tooth and fixed it with filings, which saved me a ton of money. And he is skilled in the art of fitting crowns; his look and feel better than any others I've gotten in the past. The last one I got didn't even look like a crown, he matched the tooth with two colors (since my teeth are yellow from smoking) and it blended right in. The other day a crown done by another dentist fell off, but Dr. Yosi got me right in. He actually found there was a cavity under the crown, fixed that up, refitted the crown better than it was originally done, and I was on my way for a shockingly good price. He saved me from needing a new crown and losing the tooth later due to a hidden cavity. Just one example of many, where a situation was resolved quickly and remedied superiorly and for a fantastic price. The office staff is very friendly. And they are good about reminding you of appointments. They've squeezed me in for urgent treatments. But rarely ever do I wait more than 5 minutes to be seen. I have never recommended a dentist to anyone ever before this. But I feel his hard work and helpful demeanor should not go unnoticed. Dr. Yosi is a rare gem to find in the dentistry realm, which can be riddled with faulty work, and crooks taking advantage of vulnerable people. I'm so thankful for this dentist. read more

I went to Dr. Yosi for over a decade and he was the best dentist I had in my entire life. I recently had a child and my wife and I decided to move out of state. This is the only reason I won't see him on a regular basis anymore. I would recommend this dentist to my family, friends and people I have never met. If I ever decide to come back to Santa Monica for a period of time I plan on calling him for an appointment/check-up because I know how honest he is about working on my teeth. This is so interesting considering I read all these glowing reviews here before making an appointment to find a new local dentist. So I've lived in Santa Monica for over 20 years now and live like 8 blocks away from this location and really thought this would be my forever dentist place, but sadly I had a less than stellar experience overall I would say. Meh. First when called to schedule a new patient appt the lady over the phone was quite adamant that the actual Dr. Yosi B was not available for months and months as he was booked so far in advance. So I begrudgingly settled to make an appt with someone else in the office sooner than months away, his name is Dr. Darien (sp?) not exactly sure and I even looked for his office card at the check in desk and couldn't find any with his name, go figure. Plus when he introduced himself it was something else, huh. I was there last month late August. When I arrived in the office it was clean, organized, and filled out the necessary paperwork. I was taken to get the necessary xrays by the technician and she was also the one who did the cleaning after the exam. The xrays seemed to be very thorough which I appreciated. Then came the teeth exam with Dr. Darien?? and he was quite thorough too and told me many things like teeth grinding, gum health, chipping, etc. It did seem like a laundry listing which was a bit burdensome. Then came the teeth cleaning by the same lady who took the xrays, she never introduced herself which felt odd but I did ask her name after the cleaning and I think she said Sara?? maybe not sure...but back to the cleaning, it was seriously the fastest quickest teeth cleaning I've had in my life--normally I get a super thorough cleaning and polishing too but this seriously lasted like 10 minutes max! I didn't even feel the polishing brush at all which felt odd. Granted, she was sweet and kind. When she was done, I was surprised it was so fast and headed out. On my way out, I looked at my actual xrays on the chart/stand and I noticed right away they misspelled my first name so I told her right away. Anyways, I just wanted to share my review and I'm thinking those who actually get to see Dr. Yosi would experience something else considering all these reviews I read too and expected the same, but unfortunately that was not the case for me. The parking lot in the back was free which is a plus, but not at the expense of the actual dental visit! read more

Worst dental experience I have ever had. First went in for a cleaning and Dr. Behroozan was extremely rough. It was the most painful cleaning I've ever had. He also made rude comments like "those braces really did a number on you. You couldn't cut a piece of lettuce with that bite" (I hadn't asked about my bite). And told me "you just got the best cleaning of your life" about his work. Then, I came back for a filling a couple months later. 1. he didn't even tell me before injecting me with Novocaine- I didn't see the needle go in and then when I started feeling a pinch I realized he was injecting it without even telling me first. 2. he pulled his assistant over to show him how much decay was in my tooth during the filling and how bad it was in a really unprofessional way. It was unsettling to hear while I'm getting my filling. 3. after the filling he started cleaning my teeth without me asking and I had to physically push his hand away because it hurt so bad. 4. he told me while doing the filling he "almost struck the nerve". About 3 weeks later I started experiencing severe pain in my tooth that I had the filling in, and ended up having to get an impromptu root canal. I went to a different dentist for the referral because there was no way I was going back there again. The endodontist who did my root canal told me he went extremely far down in my tooth for the filling. I ended up needing antibiotics as well because my tooth was infected after the filling. It seems they focus a lot on cosmetic dentistry which I hadn't realized when I scheduled initially, which makes sense why he would be commenting on my bite to potentially get me to do extra work. I will not be returning to this dentist. read more

2nd review coz I'm still a really really happy customer! I've been going here 4 years or so now. I never thought I'd be the person with a straight and confident smile. 1,.... I didn't think my teeth were capable, and 2. I didn't think I could withstand the "uncomfortableness" of getting that much dental work done. I got braces, Invisalign, and I'm half way thru, and I'm showing me teeth off to anyone I can Yosi made the process super easy. I knew the game plan was sort all cavity/crowns/issues like that first, and then I routinely come in for 2 cleanings a year, which aren't bad coz I keep on top of it now. So then we did the Invisalign which I go to his ortho guy for, and the process has been really easy to follow, to understand, and integrate into my lifestyle. I have been to every dentist in la until I came to Dr. Yosi's office in 2011. The way Dr. yosi treats me is like no other. He explains everything to me and gives me choices. I have had everything done from cavities to crowns and even had a root canal just last year with his root canal specialist. I like that everything is in one spot. After 11 years my mouth is finally stable and I never once felt like I was being told to do unnecessary work because Dr. Yosi always showed me why things needed to be done either on an xray or mirror or digital scan. Now that my teeth are in good shape, the other dentists in the office who are also wonderful see me and give me my check ups and cleanings.
