I'm almost afraid to identify Kim's Tailoring because it's the secret gem that you only ever give your best of friends. It's hidden in a strip mall in Great Falls (the one across from the Village with the CVS, Safeway and the random Japanese restaurant and Starbucks. But if you hit those, you've gone too far, it's in the collection of small stores on the back side of the Exxon station. Mr. Kim is an absolute legend. As my daughters would say - he's the GOAT. Mr. Kim (and his spouse, the seamstress), can fix anything. Pair of pants that's four sizes too big that you acquired on eBay? Easy day. He's adjusted every pair of overalls that I own (pro tip, get one of the arms opened and snaps put in!). Every pair of pants that I own... I never knew pants could fit me so well. Is it expensive? Well, it's not cheap. But it's worth it and I can now keep my clothing longer and I now can purchase the brands that I want to purchase (second hand, don't come at me, I will review those places later) and get them tailored and fitting me properly. I took two pairs of my (shamefully expensive) denim jeans to Mr. Kim's specifying that I wanted the length shortened and tapered. He suggested that no tapering was need, but I asked for it regardless of how minimal the tapering would be. "Not a problem," was his response. He wrote down the exact leg opening I wanted and marked where the tapering should begin (which varies depending on your calf shape). I feel like not enough tailors take the time to write down and mark (or pin) where the alterations are needed, resulting in "best guessed" alternations. But I'm certain because of the proper measurements Mr. Kim took, my jeans came out exactly how I wanted them. EXACTLY. To top it off, he's a really pleasant guy and prices are reasonable! read more

I decided to try Kim's based on the reviews here, but I did not have good experience. First of all, it is the most expensive tailor in the area... I was able to look past that since I care about my clothes and as long as service and quality was good, I was ok to pay the higher price. I brought my jacket to be tailored (shorten the sleeves and adjust front buttons). After I picked up my jacket, sleeves were done correctly... BUT one of the buttons felt off on my first day of wearing the jacket! I was upset since I was at an event and ended up having open jacket the whole time with a button that I was able to recover after diving under the table after it. At the price that Kim is charging I was expecting perfect service. Needless to say it was my last time there. read more

When I picked up my tailored items last week (two dresses and a pair of pants) he worked out the price per item... and then when he saw what that added up to, knocked $5 off! He's also fixed buttons and done other minor repairs for free. I've been going to him for years and, even though I live farther away now, I take the time to drive out to Great Falls whenever I need something guaranteed to fit well. I went to this tailor because of his excellent yelp score, and boy was I sorry. First off, his prices are insane, second off he is very rude to new customers, while he gives his regulars priority service. He serves his regulars first, regardless of the order you got there, which really makes new customers feel slighted. I had a terrible experience where I had the same two pairs of jeans altered twice. I called him the first time to tell him I was unhappy, and he told me to come back the next day with my jeans. What he failed to mention was that he would be charging me again! Why would I want to give him more of my business? I spent $90 to alter two pairs of jeans, but he wanted to charge me even more money. The worst part? A week later, the seam popped open on my brand new pair of jeans that I brought to him. So now I have to pay somebody else to stitch them since I would never go back to him. What a sloppy job! The low quality of his work and his rude customer service do not justify his high prices. read more

I have never been to a tailor before and was super nervous about it. After looking forever for the perfect skinny jean, I realized I could take my favorite boot cut jean and get them tailored. Enter Kim's Tailoring. When I arrived he was having lunch, it even says the place is closed from noon-1p.m. each day for lunch break. I didn't know this so I turned around to go back to my car and he came out quickly to say "You are already here, so come on in!" (In broken English). He was nothing but wonderful. As a woman, he was very respectful about personal space, yet gave me all the info I needed to know. The pricing was amazingly fair, and his turnaround time was one day, I can deal with that!!! Even though this is my only experience getting clothes tailored, once I tried on the now gorgeous skinny jeans, I was sold. This is the best place to go.
